Oops - yes he is taking trazodone, the antidepressant, at low dose just for night. Since DH doesn't have to work and drive the after affects aren't a big concern. Risperidone is an antipsychotic, which we also have an as needed prescription for at a low dose.

So I've been totally wasting alllll of my time thinking about what to do about Becca's birthday cake. This is nutty and I know it but I cannot seem to stop. I've had to go in multiple times and try to talk to different people and so the price has gone from $63 to $85 to $107 now. It seems overkill to pay that for at 1st birthday but now time is getting short and I've already spent so much energy trying to make this happen. But I'm also ticked. I'm contemplating getting a $40 cake at Sam's and calling it a day. No one else will care but me. Why do I care so much? Definitely the best #firstworldprob you'll hear in awhile.

DH went out to cheer on his friends at old job. Some kept their jobs, some didn't. I hate change. It would be so much easier if I didn't.

This weekend sounds like it'll be yucky but nothing compared to what Diane O. has been experiencing. Still...it's MARCH!! Can't we get some nice springy weather already??!!

I'm excited at least for the time change next week. It sucks that it'll be dark in the morning, but it's always dark when Becca wakes me up so it's a nice tradeoff to have some extra sunlight in the evenings. Hmmm wonder if that'll change her sleeping schedule?

A fit4mom class begins at the end of this month so I think I'll try to do that through the end of pregnancy. Maybe a few more prenatal yogas. I can't really "diet" right now, so I'm trying to just do things that sound good for me. The past couple days I've packed snacks and I suppose I ate better--or did I just eat bad and chase it with good? Yesterday I had gluten free rosemary crackers and hummus and an apple with string cheese...and 3 cookies.

BB, the Costco cakes are delicious. Maybe you can get creative on adding decorations? If you Google "embellish Costco cake" there are lots of cute ideas. Here was one that looked sweet and easy.

Hey, y'all! Remember me?

We have only five more days before the 2019 Mardi Gras season ends. The day after Fat Tuesday (March 5) is Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent when everyone in southern Louisiana begins the original cleansing diet - 40 days of fasting and abstinence. Apparently, in New Orleans Lent's required renunciations appeal not only to Catholics, but Jews, Southern Baptists, Wiccans, atheists, and agnostics alike. After all, the human body can tolerate only so much debauchery before it cries uncle.

I've done a little research about Lenten fasting and abstinence and learned there are a gazillion versions of what it's necessary to forbear. At the top of New Orleanians' eschewing list are parties and alcohol. Then comes King cake (which we've eaten every day for weeks) and all other desserts, red meats, fancy foods, and overeating in any form.

This might be the Catholic Church's best invention ever!

So what's left? Small meals of fish, white chicken, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and water. Thank the Pope, we don't have to renounce coffee!

I've been warned that the first big challenge to Lenten fasting and abstinence comes twelve days after Fat Tuesday, on St. Patrick's Day. Oh, well, first things first.

I miss y'all and will soon be seeking your support for a return to some form of normalcy after this extended field trip. I'll be back here regularly sometime next week.

We had a partner company we used to work with from Louisiana and they used to send a King cake every year which I would eat WAY TOO MUCH of.

Weight 174 More carbs yesterday, but healthy ones , and salt. Doubling down on Miralax to move my iron-enriched clogged self along.

My friend has left until next Wednesday. Just feeding myself is so much preferred!

Today I need a Costco trip. Besides that, just dog walkies. Maybe sone cleaning and laundry if the mood strikes.

Ann, so good to hear from you! Sounds like a marvelous time and a welcome reprieve from your marvelous time coming soon!

Devon, did you end the day with 12? How are you feeling today??

Liz, so glad you got your day away!! Though someone needs to have a talk with Justice about not mimicking Dad on his nighttime potty wanderings.

Actually ended the day with 11! students. I knew I was coming down with something, too, but I was pretty shocked when I took my temp last night and it was 102. Needless to say, I am home today feeling less than stellar!

Greetings Partiers

Sounds like not so much partying except Ann. Party on Ann. Lent approaches. As a child I didn't have much religious education and never understood Lent. Other kids would talk about what they were giving up for Lent like peanut butter or something. I used to think "whats the point of this?" Now I sort of get it in a non religious way. And good on some Pope for not demanding abstaining from coffee.

Speaking of coffee, I am trying a new one called "Bullet Proof". Its pretty good but expensive. I keep thinking of it as "Magic Bullet".

Liz I envy your ability to get good restaurant fish. The best fish place here is The Sea Grille. Shel, maybe we should go there. In Eureka. Anyway glad DH is sleeping. But Justice! Its always something. Tesla jumped in our bed this morning with muddy feet. Brat.

So I looked up King Cake. I had heard of the stuff with the toy inside. There are so many kinds! I don't think I will go there. I would prefer King Brownies or King Cookies. With a chocolate bunny to bite the head off of. (yeah I know bad grammar).

Peps hope you are better and have some students left. Its been a bad year for colds and flu. Chicken soup to the rescue.

We have started watching a tv series called "****ts Creek". A Canadian produced comedy about a wealthy family forced to go live in a small town dumpy motel. Pretty funny. I keep looking for funny shows so I don't have to watch exploding aliens with DH. Fortunately he likes this silly stuff too.

Well BB, I hope you find a nice cake. Maybe get a couple of smaller ready made ones so there is more than one kind. Whatever you do, it will be special for all who attend the first birthday.

Rain has stopped for awhile. We may get a few dry but overcast days. Had some studio time and a good talk with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. Caught up on gossip and intrigue.

Made grass fed rib eye last night. I bought a one pound steak (which is a roast in this house) and cut two thick strips of it for each of us. Neither of us could finish our portion. Lucky were the dogs. Yay for dense protein.

Not much planned for today. Gotta get vitamins, go to the studio and various menial missions. Enjoy the day, all. Diane S
