Weight 127.2, calories 1121. As I told Shirl yesterday, DH did go to daycare. We went to Sarasota, poked around in many overpriced shops and ate fish at a cafe. It was gorgeous weather. DH was moving slow yesterday - they said he chilled for a while in the recliner area. He started a new drug, trazodone, on Wednesday night. It is supposed to make him sleep better so I get more sleep, but because it is an anti-psychotic also works on his mood a bit. Which might be why he was slow? Regardless so far so good for night sleeping - he slept like a log both nights, but I had a bit of insomnia and Justice bounced around needing a walk at 2:30 am. Sigh...
Tonight DSD is coming for the weekend which will be nice. I'm making low-carb, low calorie lasagne today with eggplant, turkey sausage and cottage cheese, etc. so we can heat some up for her when she arrives at 9 or do tonight. Oh and I better pay my bills!
Have a full Friday!

Shoveled the new snow, ate mostly on plan, and my weight is up another pound for no apparent reason. I know I need some good bathroom time, I haven't had enough water, and my shoveling muscles are over used but, come on ! 2-3" today, and another 4-6" tomorrow into Monday and in the 20's all week. This weather with clouds to boot...agh ! Then, I think of what some of you are going through with body parts, rampaging pigs, challenging SOs, child/elder care, germs....and I feel guilty for complaining.
The mostly on plan eating means too many carbs. For me, the addiction progression is carbs leading to sugar - and I haven't gotten into the sugar yet but less than a week from a two week vacation is not an ideal time to really rein carbs back in. I need to do some detoxing when I come home... I'm still working through clarifying the emotional part of food in my life, how to reconcile the moments when my insides don't match my outside (in both directions) and what exact struggles activate/amplify my inner addictive voice.

You deserve every complaint! Our area is still complaining loudly about the brief bout of weather we had.
I totally get progressing to sugar....it is so easy to observe, not so easy to turnaround.
I'm curious. (And this is NOT pushing back on what you know about your own body and brain.) When I have this sort of situation, I like to rein carbs back in. Even a few days of lower carbing helps my brain settle down so that I am less anxious about food on vacation which makes the vacation (and even food intake on vacation) more pleasurable.
But, lower carb is a comfort zone for me. Is it not for you? Does it trigger worry/anxiety/something else? (Always interested in other's neurology)
Anyway, you don't have to answer. People are different and that is answer enough.

Yes, all of this! And what Shel said about the utility of low-carbing for a few days to calm and leash the beast.
Speaking for myself, I don't think the beast will ever go away. But it can be leashed ... WHEN I choose to do so.

Good morning!
Shirl, I think I have mentioned this before, but I really want you to wear a GoPro, even tho it is really, really hot, because your life sounds AMAAAAAZING! I just love all of your posts.
Ann needs a GoPro, too. Documentary, please!
Pharmacist hat on: Liz, because you are precise, I want you to know that trazodone isn't an antipsychotic. It was developed as an antidepressant and works pretty well for that at about 300mg daily. Lower doses are effective for sleep. It isn't perfect for sleep (heavy sigh about sleep drugs) because it can last longer than 8 hours and hang over into the next day. Non addictive. Antipsychotics are sometimes (frequently?) used in memory loss patients at night so maybe he is on one, but it isn't trazodone.
Justice needing a walk at 2:30!
DianeO, looking forward to your trip!
Fat adaptation: THAT IS WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO FOR RAINIER! I love that this board just knows what I need and starts chit chatting about it the same time I am getting more serious about it! At some point, I'll read that book for inspiration. In the meantime, I am doing my thing as recommended by the training group I signed up but it is along the same lines plus doing exercise fasted. Just before Rainier, I will be lab tested (again) to see what my fat/carb burn is so I have a better idea of how to fuel on the mtn. (Science is cool)
Enjoy the day, all! Shel
