Good Morning All. TGIF !!! Up at 5am after being woken constantly by DH dog. Finally gave in and let him out (for a pee stop) and I was right - he wanted to hunt. I watched him but took my eyes off my Kelpie for a second and guess what - she was gone! Hot on the tail of the likely fox - still dark here and shes black so picture me stumbling around in the dark with a torch calling for her. Got the other 2 inside and after 15 mins - I was coming inside to get dressed and go looking in the ute when madam returned. She is now sleeping with muddy paws inside and there is no point me going back to bed GRRRR. Not a wonderful night nor start to the day.

After yesterday I needed this like a hole in the head. Long story short - I backed the fire trailer into the shed to put it away and the jockey wheel collapsed - sending the whole thing crashing to the ground. Its impossible to lift full of water so I spent nearly 2 hours trying to jack it up with hand jacks in the heat. I had to give up after I pulled a muscle in my armpit - as I simply cant do it. Frustrated and feeling more than a little pathetic! My BIL will come past today and help me get it up. Then I headed over to SIL place to start her chores - was cleaning out the duck and chook houses when I see the neighbours minature pigs destroying her gardens (she has spent hours and hours on her gardens). I had to chase them back home with a rake and couldnt let the owners know they where out again as they where not home. The mess was incrediable. It took me till 9pm to get it sorted before I ran out of light. I came home and showered, eat and had an icecream - felt very sorry for myself as I was aching - silly how I justify a reward in times of stress huh - thats what got me to the size I was pre WLS ! It was my stepdaughters birthday and she cut her leg badly at work - she has had it stitched up and will be sore no doubt be very sore today. She sent me a picture and it was deep. Was sad for her as she missed her hair appointment but at least her BF got to take her to dinner. We will see her tommorrow - cant wait to give her a hug and help look after her.

So there is my whinge - Im having a cup of tea and the washing is on. Travelling back to the city after work today so have a few things to finalise up here. Not back up till Monday after work - and so it continues. Im hoping the extra movement will help with this ridiculous eating thing I have gotten myself into a habit of!

Liz - hope you get to Sarasota today and DH agrees to daycare. You need the break

Shel - so exciting about your spring break plans :) Look forward to seeing the pics

Diane O - gorgeous picture - for me snow is magical as I have never had it fall at home (have to travel to snow fields to see it) I could well imagine most of you dont agree especially given the winter you have had to endure!

BB - Sorry the layoffs continue - must be super hard on all concerned

Peps - Stay well - sending you sunshine to help. Good for you re starting Keto. I am hoping to be there with you next week - if I can finally get time to finish reading the book

Waves and a hug to all that havent made it here yet - Im off in search of my second cup of tea - its going to be a loonnnngggg day. Temps expected to be around 94 so thats a little cooler than we have had. Onwards and upwards

Take care all

Shirley

Well if there is one solace in your crazy day and eating, you sure must have burned A LOT of calories! Hope the weekend is better!

Thanks Diamond - the weekend will be spent at DSD house - helping her and her partner start renovations - and I will be trying to get some cooking done to take over so she can rest after the stitches yesterday

We will likely go out for breakfast or brunch Sunday with them :)

Shirl, I think YOU need a break after that day! DH did go to daycare and we went to Sarasota btw. Had a nice lunch out at a cafe and poked around in a lot of overpriced shops.

Update: Only 12 students remain!

(Can't remember when that last happened!)

I am fighting valiantly, but I'm afraid it will be for naught!

Greetings Maintainers

155.5 today. Bacon and baby broccoli last night. Quite a pleasant combo. I am having trouble getting veggies in. DH hates most of them. That spinach dish with bacon looked good Cecily. Maybe we will try that.

DH is off to the Chinese buffet which he loves. Glad I am not going. Too much temptation to overeat on mediocre food.

Well the rain has finally paused and its a good thing as the flooding is serious. We are fine - high and dry but there are a lot of lowland pastures that are lakes. Thats why they are pastures - effectively flood plains. Google Humboldt county weather if you want to see floods. A family was rescued near Ferndale last night and one man was swept away. This is not a 100 year flood - maybe a 25.

Yep Shel, you will have to come over and meet the dogs and DH when you come. Warning, our house looks like an exploded thrift store. And sure we can do a walk. Maybe DH will even be up for it by then. He is tired and stiff and I think he needs to start to pu**** But look whose talking!!

Liz hoping for day care and fun today. And loved Ann's FB picture. So elegant. Ann is so in her element.

Yow Peps, half the kids sent home! Must be miserable. All I can suggest is elderberry zinc lozenges. So much school interruption with fires, weather and all this year.

Shirley, your adventures with farm equipment and animals are astonishing! You are one strong lady. I would crumble into a ball. Wishing you days with fewer emergencies!

DiamondD and Diane O, stay warm. Glad there is a little break but winter ain't over yet.

Peps your workouts are astonishing. Ok now don't get me wrong here but if you can lift 180 pounds and all manner of such feats, you likely have the strength to defeat a chocolate chip cookie. Admittedly I should not talk. I have about as much discipline as a banana slug and can lift about as much weight as one.

Studio time today and check in at the gallery for banking. Plus much needed de junking. Take care all. Diane S

Ah, you are very kind! I know I can, too. It's just a matter of dealing with the emotional distress behind it. As we've discussed, this obesity is a multi-faceted disease!
