I hear you! Fear of major regain (I'm at about 10 as of this morning all since June). And definitely shame has always been mixed in with my eating and weight gain.

Brene Brown has written some terrific books on shame. Daring Greatly is excellent.

Greetings All

Had some morning appointments so I am late here. Looks like its just as well since there is much good discussion. 155.5 today. Last night's dinner was healthy and modest. Bacon and broccoli tonight.

Liz, keeping fingers crossed on the day care. Yes, I remember the Dalkon shield and events related to it. Never had an IUD but I do remember they made earrings that looked like them! So glad you have your family in spite of the device - plus the pool!

Hey BB, I don't know how you do it all. And I sure don't get how ordering a custom cake has to be so hard!. Don't blame you for coming close to meltdown in the grocery store. I used to often feel that way and I had no child in tow. A counselor once told me I shouldn't worry so much about pleasing others and to care for myself. Words of wisdom.

Lets all make a pact to just not feel shame in connection with eating. Does no good and just ruins ones day. Be Gone : Shame!!! Shame is for criminals and dogs who poop on the carpet. Unless any of us poop on the carpet, no shame.

Yeah I am sure the causes of obesity are not fully understood and are complex. But I also know I will gain weight if I exceed about 1300 calories and I challenge any "normal" person to do that for an extended period. No way could I have stuck to the 600 cal diet without the sleeve. We may all have imbalances of gherkin, leptin and sugarbinge-alin.

Cecily hope you get well and get beyond these problems. Ablation sounds good to me. Wish I could have done that in my youth. The invention of Motrin was a life changing event for me.

I am having a nice peppermint tea. I forget about how much nice tea there is and how it naturally makes you slow down and relax for a few minutes. The Britts have it right. However they are also big in the clotted cream department.

Take care. Diane S

Love how the auto correct changed ghrelin to gherkin! Made me stop and think you were being humorous and then I figured it out. LOL!
