Small town.... As we arrived, my attorney got called from the courthouse across the square because one of her clients was being offered a plea deal for a criminal offense, so our appointment was postponed until Friday. If I was in court facing a criminal offense, I'd like my lawyer with me too. That is my self-talk when doctors are running late too...

More snow and ice today, although not enough to shovel. A bit more than two more weeks ! Peps, thanks for the link....I ordered the Keto book too ! Cecily, you're doing so well !!

Weight 127, calories endless. I too ordered the keto book and need to start reading it.

No daycare as DH had a tantrum, banging his fists on his legs and the dashboard and yelling. He was ready to walk home from the place (next to an 8 lane road, about 4 miles from us where he has never even driven). So no beach - I went to an Alzheimer's talk instead. Fun, fun... I've requested information on memory care facilities at home. If daycare is not an option, then I'll have to start the drain on finances sooner than I planned as this can't go on much longer.

Today is Alzheimer's Support Group. Again, fun, fun...

Have a well Wednesday.

I wish I had more erudite language, but what comes to mind is, wow, this sucks. Big time.

Oh Liz, that indeed does suck. I wonder if there is any difference in cost with memory care place in Florida? It may be wishful thinking, but economies of scale and all...

5th snow day! Well I am enjoying drinking my sf chai latte all cozy in my bed, it's so hard to get traction with the students when we haven't had a normal 5 day week since mid January. We've either had a snow day, late starts, scheduled days off, or a combination of all of them. But it's true, this is another crazy storm, 2 inches an hour, for the next several hours. If we were able to get the busses there in the morning, we'd be trapped by afternoon.

So today's agenda: snowblower appears to have a broken head gasket, so I am going to shovel in an hour or two, and then again with dh when he gets home. I did bring some paperwork home, so I'll get to that, make a new keto recipe, and then hope/pray that the snow stops this afternoon so we can get downtown to see a Bronx Tale. It's a straight shot on interstate 35, so it could be passable.

Well, this teacher wouldn't mind a snow day...LOL! Though, I can't complain because we had "smoke days" in November, if you recall.

I bow to your snow finesse. So cool. So causal.

May spring come soon.

Here's our own Bonnie Miss150's article on her WL journey. I needed to read this today. Thank you, Bonnie for sharing your journey!

Liz, I don't pretend to understand what you're going through. I hope you can find a way to care for DH and have your needs met, too. Peace and strength.

DianeO, I need to take on your self-talk when others run late. Hope everything works our to your benefit!

Diamond, enjoy your snow day! Hopefully soon you can have routine back!

I'm going to read the Keto book, too. I bought Atkins meals this week so I could have portion control and not have to think about what I need to eat. Not the healthiest, lots of sodium but hopefully I can transition into food prep on the weekends again. The meals are mostly satisfying and keep me full for a few hours. Important for me!!

When I have my act together, I have a quick, portable egg dish I make. The getting my act together part involves sauteing a bunch of chopped up veggies in butter. (I use tomatoes, onions, olives, red and green peppers). Sometimes I throw in chopped up leftover sausages, or bacon. (Okay, always bacon, I use the bacon bits from Costco, huge bag, but we always manage to use it up, 35 calories per tablespoon) Put the saute mixture in the fridge. Then like Liz, I use a small Pyrex dish. I scoop some of the veggies into the dish, pour on a beaten egg, throw some feta or shredded cheddar, or both, and then microwave it when I'm ready to eat. It's like a frittata :)
