Fabulous news from cardiologist !! I hadn't had an echo cardiogram since 2014, prior to VSG. At that time it was inconclusive as to whether my aortic valve was tricuspid or bicuspid (supposed to be tri) and my leak was moderate. With an appropriate BMI, a tricuspid valve was clearly captured on imagery, which would make me a candidate for the less invasive TAVR valve replacement procedure, should I ever require it. However... my moderate leak is now determined to be mild !!! Keep walking, keep shoveling and maintain that BMI ! More incentives !!

I forget who mentioned their father getting upset when their mother vacuumed the floor rather than sweeping. I remember my parents insisting on pencil and paper over calculators, hand hemming rather than using the machine, hand clipping grass along front wall rather than weed wacking.... But my father had a riding mower ! Yes, there has been some lazy shaming in many of our pasts ! Here's to our continuing quest for more efficient and effective methodology... although I'll continue to prefer shoveling for the exercise !!

Great news on your echo cardiogram! And a good reminder/incentive that keeping a healthy BMI isn't about deprivation, it's about everything we gain: health, activity, freedom.

An unstructured day today, and I reli**** Tentative plans: tidying the house, visit SIL, and maybe a movie. Tomorrow evening we will see As You Like It. I'm not very familiar with this play, so I'll probably make time to read a synopsis. We have teacher training on Monday, so no students. As I've said before, almost a day off!

That is fantastic news, Diane! Woohoo!

Weight 174.8 Good day of eating yesterday, but need to get more water in

Trying to think of a good place to go walk today as we got more rain last night so the dirt trails are all still muddy and closed (but there appears to not be a cloud in the sky now!). 60% chance tomorrow.

And somehow my laundry has piled way up, so there's that today. And maybe a Costco trip...

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Greetings Marvelous Ones

155.5 today. Down a half for no known reason. I actually ate my favorite junk food yesterday - sea salt pita chips. I got them plus some chick pea crackers due to the arrival of nephew (so I told myself) and his need for junk food. I remember grinning evilly to myself at the thought of those chips. But I only ate one modest serving. They guys have eaten the rest.

Speaking of nephew, he is 36 and MO. He has been overweight his whole adult life. Married a lovely woman last year who is also MO. I am hoping some day they will discover the sleeve - they know about us. Sleeve didn't exist when I was 36 but I'm not sure I would have considered it until I got older and at age 58 was starting to feel all the ill effects of weight. Makes me consider what to do when I have MO guests - whether I should stick to healthy food offerings. We did for dinner last night - the Wagyu beef, cold shrimp and baby broccoli. No carbs. Worked fine. But the guys raided the ice cream sandwiches that DH keeps. I am not tempted by them.

OceanDiane we are all thrilled for you on the good news on your heart test. Yep, keep on shoveling. It is a work out.

Riding lawnmower plus hand clipping edging? Interesting juxtaposition. I grew up in a household ahead of its time - no convenience was off limits. We had a dishwasher and garbage disposal when many people didn't. Also an old fashioned calculator big as bread box! My mom had a distain for housework which I inherited.

Sounds like a great hike Cecily. Keep it up. I hear you on rain. We had rain/hail/rain this morning and now a peek of sun. Hoping it stays clear for a beach walk today.

Well the boys are both dozing along with the dogs. A quiet moment for me. Cheers All. Diane S

Good Morning All, Im back and in a far better head space. Weight this AM 172.92 so I have managed to drop some of the weight from stress eating. Little more to go. Got back from the farm yesterday afternoon and I am here till Wednesday night. DH heads back up tonight - we have his son, partner and grandson coming for lunch which will be nice.

Todays plans are cooking. I will make a frittata and green salad for lunch and serve with a cooked chook (we got at Costco last night) and bread. Then bottled peaches and custard. Should fill them all up - leftovers will be for dinner

Ocean - fabulous news from the cardiologist - very well deserved

Cec - You are doing great with your weight - well done :)

Diane - Enjoy your nephews visit :)

I will try and sneak a bit of time before I go to the supermarket and read back on what everyone has been doing

Nice to be back - I have missed you guys lots

Diane O., YES! on the cardio echo yesterday!!!!! Fantastic News!

Waiting for groups to start at the dog show. Looooong wait. Showed at 10 am snd won breed. (Only two of us showed, so it was a 50/50 chance) groups start at 3:30, so we have a long wait yet. Terriers go 3rd.

B?day was fun. Low key mostly. I ate moderately well. Other than dessert, I did not over do. Yet, I will not go so far as to say my eating was stellar yesterday. LOL!

I had a nice training session yesterday. I enjoyed making that a priority on my b'day. My, things have changed. Gotta work through some mind junk that has come up around body image and dieting - same old **** but wrapped in a new package.

More shows tomorrow and then a deliciously free Monday!

It was not, but Ace showed well and that's all that matters to me! We had fun and Ace really likes our "A boy and his dog" days. He loves it when he is the center of my attention.
