Off to Syracuse (two hour drive) for DC urology check up and my echo cardiogram. Great Valentine's dinner last night and solid lesson in over eating my sleeve. I was famished, and the rolls looked sooo good, along with all of the rosettes of different butter. I had a half, which I usually don't do, and followed that with several generous spoonfuls of lobster bisque. The bread promptly soaked up the bisque in my sleeve and expanded. Seafood risotto was the main course. I made my way through a scallop, a mussel, a clam, a piece of crab and a shrimp and two bites of risotto, packing the remainder of the seafood to bring home. I was uncomfortable, with all of that pressure pushing up my throat. When the chocolate decadence cake with white and dark chocolate drizzled ice cream arrived, I couldn't sample even one bite ! When we settled our bill, they brought two chocolate dipped strawberries, which I didn't touch either. Lesson learned...bread, no matter how glorious, soaks up liquid and expands, hogging precious sleeve space. In retrospect, I would have preferred the dessert over the roll and bisque, but on the positive side, I'm not dealing with sugar overload.

Diane O. your dinner sounds delicious. I'm not unfamiliar with overeating with a sleeve. This is why I'm also not unfamiliar with barfing after VSG. Good food makes it especially tempting! Risotto? I'm so there, even though rice is a particular sleeve enemy. Unfortunately around here most places for Valentine's Day (and New Year's, Christmas, Thanksgiving...) have "pre fixe" menus. Aka I'm paying X amount anyway so I feel more compelled to eat more. I hate that even this many years later, I can feel that way.
Last Valentine's I was 36 weeks pregnant and sick so we had frozen dinners at home. I really sort of wanted to go out, especially as I waited at the grocery store with a hungry baby! And then fed and bathed said baby before even starting on our own dinner. DH and I tag-teamed (all praise to him--he sure makes raising babies easier. I feel so sorry for mamas who don't have any relief :( ) and got Becca fed and down, and I roasted asparagus and boiled lobster ravioli (from TJ's) while he grilled the filets. OMG it was probably the best steak I've had, certainly on Valentine's. I told him we had the best seat at 7:30!!
He did send me flowers and chocolate strawberries (which were had for dessert). No card this year, and although I noticed it, I decided to just be happy with what I do have. Which is so so much!
We finished up the evening by watching most of Bohemian Rhapsody. I don't think it was a good choice for Valentine's Day.
Tonight we're going to pick up healthy mediterranean food and have some friends over to watch The Intouchables. I highly, highly HIGHLY recommend it. DH and I actually saw the preview of the movie by accident about 6 years ago. It's a French film with English subtitles and DH wanted to leave. But we were so glad we stayed! It's one of the top grossing French Films and an all-around feel good movie. It's recently been remade into an American Film, the Upside. But I'm pretty sure the original will be better :)
Happy Birthday Devon! I saw your photo with the girls at the play, so sweet.
Photo because I'm so impressed with us (note: I never eat my whole plate, but it makes for better photos!)
Wow, I'm impressed! You guys did great. That sounds like the best Valentines Day at this poin in your lives!

As long as you enjoyed what you had and can have some good leftovers I would call it a successful dinner out! We had leftovers. I bought some bright non-roses for the house and enjoyed them. I also had one very small brownie as a Valentine celebration. Even though DH heard Valentine salutations from family members and said "thank you" I'm fairly certain he had no idea what he was responding to.
Weight 125.4, calories 1048 (including the small brownie), so not bad. DD returns from Universal today - she originally wanted to go to the beach and out to dinner, but since it is now 10:30 and she hasn't sent a txt that she has started the 2.5 hours back, I'm guessing the beach is out of the running. Tomorrow night she is doing a BBQ with our family friends.
Have a friendly Friday!

Greetings Peps Birthday Celebrators
No weight today. No news is good news.
Hey sounds like everyone rocked Valentines Day. Ours was low key but DH did come home with some roses. They even have some scent! Everyone's dinner sounds/looks great. We had leftover taccitos from a new Mexican restaurant. Quite good. Especially since I didn't have to cook.
I hear ya DianeO on overdoing it in a restaurant. So uncomfortable. Its been awhile since I have done that but I know how it feels. Not sure if I have just learned or if my sleeve has stretched. DH still over does it from time to time and gets sick. No fun.
Nephew arrives shortly. The rain was pouring earlier but has kind of backed off. The next few days will be movie marathons. Nephew has probably already seen everything new but he likes to see good stuff over and over. Dog Chip adores him and follows him everywhere.
Ate a Jimmy Dean Lite breakfast sandwich yesterday. I was prepared to hate it because its egg white only but it was quite good.
Well that's about it. Stay warm and dry all. Diane S
Happy Birthday to me! I have received so many wonderful birthday wishes. It is really quite heartwarming.
It is my b'day so there is no room for foul mood or upset today. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my birthday. I always have and can't imagine I never won't just love it. Heck, I've made it to another one. It doesn't get much better than that! Here's to many, many more! If I follow my father's side of the family I'm looking at a good 35-45 more! Now that's what I'm talking about!
My foul mood carried over into yesterday. The kids had a day off yesterday while teachers had professional development. Professional development did not do much for mood improvement. LOL! The power was out at the building at which we were supposed to have the PD. We were moved last minute to a new building across town (a very small town, so only 5-10 minutes away). Of the breakfast fare of fruit and dozens upon dozens of donuts in heart shapes filled with cream and custard and jelly and iced with different colors and Valentine messages, I chose to eat an orange and several strawberries. It was not until later in the day after I chose to eat one of my annual chocolate toffee chip b'day cookies made by my colleague Stacy that just sort of let my mood dictate my actions and sugared on up! My rebellious nature does not regret the sugar binge. I'm still in a bit of an F it mood as far as food and eating goes.
I am up 2 pounds this morning. Paying the piper for my sugar fest. Eh, it was worth it. It served a purpose.
I went to bed very late last night, so I stayed in bed quite late this morning. I have done very little except check Facebook, clean myself up, and make a nice b'day breakfast for Ron and me. I made steak and eggs using my left overs from dinner last night. I purposely ordered a larger filet that there was no way I could finish so I could use it for breakfast this morning. I flash grilled the filet, fried up a couple more double yolked eggs (this carton has been amazing for double yolks!), some sprouted wheat toast and chopped up the baked potato to make cottage fries for Ron. I had a spoonful of the potato, too.
Have to get Ace groomed and gussied up for the shows this weekend, have a training session at 5:30, and then we have dinner reservations at a favorite Italian restaurant for dinner with Ron, BFF, and "Auntie Kathryn".
My simple b'day wish for today from Ron is that no Judge Judy or other court TV is on the TV in my presence. LOL! I have grown to hate Judge Judy with a passion.
