Weight 126.2, calories 767. Calories good, weight up... On the plus side, I slept relatively well compared to the two previous nights with DH not disturbing me too much and Justice only having one bout of somersaults at 1 am. I may ask the neurologist about DH trying Trazodone for sleeping. We were holding off until we were sure of what he was going to need after the Namenda. He is up at least every two hours every night and wanders the room a bit, so it might be worth trying (for all of our sleep needs).

Yesterday we took the girls to the beach and it was a beautiful afternoon, followed by dinner out at our favorite place across the street. Picture from the beach below. Today I need to get DH a TB test and turn in the other paperwork for the Day Care, but will be taking the girls to a restaurant which is supposed to be very "unique" on the Myakka River.

Have a timely Tuesday!

Yesterday, I walked with an audiobook rather than music. I truly enjoyed it, and didn't trip once !! We are half way through our storm, expecting 6-10" followed by .18 ice. All of the schools here are closed. I'm looking forward to my hair cut, color and manicure Thursday. I'm at that winter place where I'm growing it out, but starting to long for my summer cut. I always make it past that awkward stage, then end up with a short cut. I'm trying to shift some emphasis to #s 5 & 6, which will in turn take care of #2.

182.2

Not thrilled to get weighed. Ugh. I have to be careful that in wanting something I don't do the complete opposite. After all, I'm pregnant, I'm going to gain weight. And I think some allowances are due. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to up water intake and try to make snacks healthier.

So many decisions to make Almost wish someone would make them for me. Church daycare will have a spot for Becca on her 1st birthday--4 weeks from now. And current babysitter can watch her until then. Originally this is where we wanted her to go, and then decided to wait until 1st bday. In some ways, babysitter quitting could be a miracle bc we didn't have to decide whether or when to let her go. On the other hand, this is a natural break that would make it so much easier for me to decide to be at home. But I still can't get over the feelings of ?inadequacy? if I do that. It's a weird place to be. I know my thinking isn't true--and I know I would experience it once I was elbows deep in babies. In fact, maybe it's not that I think it would be so easy--maybe I know it would be challenging without all the respect (and pay!!) of what I currently do. Hmmm. Managing rental properties would certainly make me feel better about it, plus income. But I really don't think it's wise to take on 10+ tenants and work and have 2 under 2. Decisions, decisions. I guess I focus on these at a time when I cannot fully focus on food.

Weight 175.6 The last time I was under 176 was 12/24!

I'm kind of amazed by this Keto thing. I'm eating what I ate post surgery, but not as much protein and more fat. It feels like cheating to use real cream in my coffee and eat a whole jar of sunflower seeds in less than 3 days. But I'm getting chicken, eggs, green beans, broccoli, avocado, and spinach/lettuce too. Skin on the chicken and butter on the veggies. And my treat has been raspberries with cream. Pretty tasty. I'm trying to avoid processed foods as much as possible (but there has been bacon). Still craving donuts but likely always will.

My friend has her Real ID drivers license appointment this morning and needs me for the carpool lane as it's an hour and a half away. The Real ID thing has been a huge mess here in CA (not sure if northern CA is the same?). Appointments take 3 months (or waiting 4 hours) and no way will everyone have one when the TSA requires them (or a passport) to fly anywhere. I still don't have mine as I couldn't get an appointment anywhere in my or the 3 ajoining counties before my birthday/expiration. I had to pay to renew my old license and my appointment is in mid-April to pay for a Real ID. Ridiculous.

Must jump in the shower! PS - enjoyed my workout yesterday! Surprise, surprise.

Yay for you! So glad you are enjoying the ketogenic thing. I just can't seem to pull it out of me.

Very fast post to let all know I'm OK -- but was house-sitting / dog-sitting all weekend (complicated time) and am now hosting a house guest (at my apartment) from Europe through this weekend. I'll catch up eventually. But my schedule is just WAY different right now than usual.

Later, gators!

Greetings Peeps, Peps, Pups, Princes, Princesses and People

156 today. Dinner out last night at a new place thats supposed to be an Argentine steakhouse. Good beef indeed. I had a bison/beef burger that was about 8 inches tall and came with a bale of french fries. Ate half the meat, a few fries and brought the rest home. DH made short work of the fries. They had waygu beef which I had heard of but am not sure what it is. Must research. All said it was excellent. Three of the four of us were sleepers - all Cirangle products. All took home half of dinner.

Liz that looks like a great spot. So glad you are having fun. A sleep aid might be good for all.

Cecily, I had spaced the Real ID stuff but realize I should get on it. I do have a passport but who wants to haul that around. Interestingly, in dealing with my mom's stuff I found my original birth certificate. So I have that too.

And gl with the Keto diet Cecily. I will look into it but am less than enthused. Mainly because I have trouble following any "diet". Somewhere along the line I have misplaces my super healthy eating Mojo. Probably should go see Dr. Cirangle but I am afraid he will rag on me.

Thanks for the drive by Ann. Good to hear that your fun continues.

Going in for a haircut today. Its been too long and my hair looks like a mental hospital patient. And also continue to clean up for the nephew. Thursday will shop for his food supplies. Like bread, of which we have none.

Stay warm all you winter sojourners. We have more storms predicted but I doubt there will be more snow. Just rain and wind. Power is still out for some people around here. Ridiculous. This county is like a third world country.

But at least we have good coffee roasters here. And Wagyu beef. Cheers. Diane S

I think of it as just cutting out the crappy carbs I crave and replacing it with fatty stuff I used to avoid, but I hear you on the dislike of following a "diet". It hasn't helped a lot of us in the past. I feel like I haven't been doing too bad on the eating and exercise front for the past few months (other than some holiday slip ups) and my weight has only gone up. I figured trying anything new was better than banging my head against the same wall I've been using. I'm not following a plan really, just bought things that were considered okay and am eating off that when I'm hungry, no measuring or counting and no recipes made thus far. Who knows how long I can keep this up. It's only been a few days. And I still want a donut.

As for the 'keto flu" people complain about, the only thing I've felt is I've been a bit dizzy this morning if I turn my head too fast. Perhaps more water is in order.

PS - speaking of rain and wind, did you see the storm that hit Hawaii yesterday? 191 mph winds?! I didn't know that was possible. And snow in state parks that have never seen a flake. And it's headed to Southern California by Thursday...

Cecily-you just made keto sound good. Do you plan to do this for just awhile to reset or to continue eating this way? If the former, just be careful about readjustment period.

Man I wish i could eat the veggies like I used to. My poor stomach is not a steel trap like it used to be. Kale hurts just saying the word.

Diane-Argentinean beef indeed! "mojo" is definitely the word I would use to describe what I've lost. I'm just kind of "ho hum" about my weight. (I mean pre-pregnancy). I mean I want it, but not enough to do something about it.

Ann-glad to hear you checked in.

Well y'all, it was a miracle. 176 on their scale!! I NEED to get me one of those scales! I know what they're really looking for was pattern of 1 month over another, which was only up 4lbs. But right hand to God, I don't understand it. The weight I posted on here a month ago was 172 at home and 182 home today. One conclusion: home scale is broken. Obvi. Haha. Well whatever it was, I'm relieved. It did scare me enough to thinking I need to be more conscious about what I'm eating. I've definitely had more of a holiday eating mindset this time around and that's not helping anyone. Whatever I eat now is more work later. There is no real "holiday" from the scales.
