I luuurve bacon. I worry more about it from a "processed meats contribute to cancer" perspective than a saturated fat perspective. But what these days doesn't contribute to cancer??

Yes! It was a good thing I was with my neighbor. If I had been by myself, I think I would have gone into a store for chocolate chips so I could make cookies. Like you, I associate snow days with baking. I suspect I have a brownie mix in the cupboard but hopefully I can resist looking for it. I "have" to have things like that around because I have a teenager in the house. Of course that is a total BS reason but that's what I tell myself.

We did stop at a coffee kiosk for coffee....I got a caramel latte instead of my usual americano.

I put together a bean soup for my snow day cooking. I'll add baby bok choy at the end...it was available in abundance at the store. I don't know why it didn't get more love with so few other options available.

How is DH?

Your pictures look like our stores when they forecast snow here. I grew up in IL so 3-4 inches of snow is not a big deal unless you live in Oklahoma.

I am home with a new car. It took way too long at the dealership but we are home now and Happy! Andy had to scoot off to the BB game. I'm curled up with the IPad and a Hallmark movie!

I'm trying to wrap my brain around WL mode...my first baby step has been water. I am drinking more water. I going to try to get rid of sugar next. I'd really like to lose this regain. I'm on the mend from surgery so hopefully I can focus on a different kind of recovery. I'm not giving up.

Another late check in. At least I enjoyed my busy day. Groomed a 2 time National Specialty winning Irish Terrier. Always fun to groom a really pretty dog! Had some down time and at a late, late breakfast, then went to the gym. Came home had some coffee and a Quest Bar and then worked on the puppy. At least she seems to not mind being groomed and she is always playful and loving when we are done!

Seems that my body must be liking this current weight - just hovering above the decade! LOL. Seriously, day three at the same weight. Must be that my glycogen stores are replenishing.

Gotta brag about another workout milestone. Did plain old fashioned dumbbell chest presses yesterday. Under the watchful eye of my trainer I challenged myself to press a weight I have never tried, let alone imagined that I would ever be able to do. I used 65 pound dumbbells! Yeah, I was doing the freakin' happy dance! LOL! When I told my BFF last night, he said, 'Oh, that's great." Then he paused, tilted his head, looked back at me and said, "But not in each hand, right? Total 65 pounds." I loved saying NOOOOO! 65 pounds in each hand, baby! LOL!

So today was abs and shoulders. Tried some new moves for abs and an old standby: Kettlebell windmills , cable pull down crunches and medicine ball side twists. A few years ago I wouldn't have believed that I would ever be breaking up my workouts into anything other than upper and lower body or total body workouts. The idea that I am targeting specific muscle groups throughout the week and working them thoroughly is just mind boggling.

Food was hard yesterday. I'm not sure if it was because I switched things up a bit from my routine of protein spinach smoothie and had an omelet for breakfast instead, or if it was because I was somewhat low on water, or just plain tired out from a long week. Whatever the reason, I was having some carb cravings last night that could not be quieted. I went to my usual go to of greek yogurt with frozen blueberries and even put on whipped cream. That worked until it was just bedtime. At bedtime I had a rumbly stomach and dipped a teaspoon into the PB and put a little drop of Ron's caramel sauce on the PB. (The caramel sauce was left over from our Palm Springs adventure and suddenly staring me in the face at 12:30 am! It has been banished to the nether regions of the fridge!) I figured, no harm, no foul. I simply can't be "perfect" 100 percent of the time.

Hoping for another "fun" weekend day tomorrow. Only one dog to groom and I scheduled it later in the morning so I can loaf about in the morning!

Hoping for a super Sunday for us all!
