School closed for the 2nd day (major ice event- the sun is out and every window view displays the most brilliantly shimmery totally ice-flocked Everything...Disney animation could not do better than this-).
Having bills with a due date sitting around the house make me nuts. I am the type that, no matter when the bill is due, post payment the minute the thing shows up. It is just my way of clearing mental clutter off the brain. This general rule, however, does not extend to insurance related bills- insurance being what it is... DH is the polar opposite, and will calculate just how long it takes for the PO to post delivery. Makes me CRAZY! We learned years ago that the two styles do not mix well. DH does the bill paying and banking and I trouble shoot any issues that necessitate phone calls. Works well.
Liz, glad to hear that daycare went well- peace of mind is everything when it comes to quality personal time. Continue to enjoy.
I'm sending positive energy and well wishes to all who are in need of physical and emotional wellness. Heal well and take all gentle care of selves and loved ones.

Argh, Diane, I hate that feeling when you're the farthest thing from a "deadbeat" accidentally doing something like that through no fault of your own!
I forgot to weigh this morning, but yesterday was 179.6, so headed the right way. The daily ice cream and waffles were worth it!
My sleep schedule is still off. I'm exhausted by 7pm and awake at 4am. It'll work itself out! I went to see Free Solo the other night in IMAX. It's nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary. So beautiful and nerve wracking watching him climb El Capitan without any equipment or ropes! And sad knowing he'll likely die someday from his dangerous hobby. Worth seeing...
I must go to the grocery store today. I just don't feel like it, but that has meant eating weird packaged stuff from the cupboards or takeout. I need fresh food.
Therapist today and dog walks. Fergie likes the couch when it's cold and it's cold here for CA...
Seattle just topped the list for most money spent on delivered food.....somelike 2500/dollars per person. (I don't know how they calculated that). I am rather anti-delivery charges in general so I am not part of that ground-swell. I have many other not-so-appealing habits, tho
Your trip sounded wonderful! what is the next adventure?

The scale showed a lower number this morning, but probably because I weighed an hour and a half later than yesterday.
Yesterday's calories and carbs were thanks to my mid-morning hankering after French class for a chocolate croissant and Girls' Night Out at an outstanding Indian/NOLA fusion restaurant (yes, there are such restaurants) where we ate us naan, roti, and bread pudding with a little ginger ice cream on the side. As Emeril would say, "Bam!"
Despite those macronutrient metrics, our dinner portions were modest because my friend and I shared everything (a half dozen roasted oysters, one grilled fish, eggplant, yogurt, cucumbers, spinach) and the aforementioned breads and dessert. I even brought home enough leftovers for today's lunch.
I survived my first verb conjugations and even saw some patterns, although I'm far from conquering those patterns. My lungs continue to clear (although not completely yet), and my stomach is no longer queasy.
Yesterday's weather was again gorgeous - sunny and eighty degrees! I could NOT stay indoors. After walking 2.6 miles home from French class (stopping only at a sidewalk café for the already-confessed chocolate croissant and café au lait), in the afternoon I went to the park for an hour and a half for another walk, a second meditation, and some fresh-air yoga.
My life is not currently sucking, which is especially precious when I remember what I was experiencing one year ago. To quote a friend who frequently 'misquotes' Robert Louis Stevenson, "Life is full of a number of things."
BTW, my beautifully tacky purple and gold Mardi Gras earrings didn't make it out to dinner last night. I'm saving them for a more appropriate occasion.
And on the cultural front, I am sad to share that this morning's NOLA newspaper included this headline: "Man Tried Burglary with Sex Toy." The last paragraph of the article read: "Bennett was accused last year of molesting a 20-year-old mare named Polly ...." The newspaper named the poor mare! Completely unacceptable!
Today's Theme: Life is full of a number of things. Enjoy this season!

voice drops to whisper.....several years ago, a man dropped off another man at ED that had injuries from a sexual encounter from a horse. I don't think he survived. Which is not surprising.
(it is amazing that we have survived as a species)
