Weight 181. Eek.

You know how they tell you not to go to sleep at a weird hour to avoid jet lag? I couldn't manage that after nearly 24 hours of traveling. After sleeping from 1 to 7:30, I still fell asleep at 10 and slept until 7. I feel really yucky from too much sleep...

Today I need to go get Ferg and I have the trainer this afternoon. Tonight I'm going to see Free Solo in IMAX with friends (National Geographic documentary about the man who climbed El Capitan without ropes). All I really want to do is sit at home and do nothing!

Last couple of pics from Buenos Aires... So green and looks Parisian.

Damn, girl! I don't move for at least two days after a transoceanic flight home.

And the scales are showing you a LOT of carb and sodium and water and glycogen pounds.

Travel weight. Doesn't count. It's water. You should see me after a coast to coast flight. Swollen ankles, water weight a plenty. I'm guessing you are experiencing the same. Relax. Let your body adjust back to your routine. You'll be fine. That said....

I so totally get the anxiety and flipping out about crossing over into the 180s from the 170s. For that I send you a great big hug and a comforting, "It'll be okay."

Greetings Magnificent Ones

155 today. All evidence of the so called snow is gone and its a sunny calm day. My good friend who moved to Mexico is back in town for a couple of weeks so we will have some fun. Gallery duty this afternoon which will be slow. More walking in circles.

BB so sorry your sitter is quitting. Thats a big issue indeed. Hope you find a new arrangement soon. And sorry about your grandma being weird. If its an abrupt change it could be any number of issues that should have medical attention but people sometimes refuse help. Hang in there.

Liz love your photo and glad you got to do this. Repeat often I hope. Sounds like it is time to explore some short term care options for DH.

Peps, good on you for your new set of habits. I am not calling it diet or program. Habits feels more permanent. Gotta get me some habits. Hey we are going to the Anderson CA shows near Redding in mid March. Any chance you will go?

Ann glad you are feeling better. Take care of those lungs. You would not want pneumonia to creep in. Or anything else creepy.

Cecily love your pictures. It does indeed look like Europe. Yeah you have about 5 pounds of ankle weights after the travel. If I were you I would hole up at home for a few more days.

Not much else here. DH's recovery continues to be slow but that's just how it is. I keep trying to help him or get him things to speed it along but there is no pushing it. We ate the last of the homemade chili last night so it may be take out from the health food deli for tonight. Cheers. Diane S

Weight same as yesterday. I was silently wishing for a little bit of a drop from yesterday to ?break the record?. Just now, though, I realized that when I was 26 going to WW my initial visit I weighed in with shoes. The second visit was without my shoes. So, HA! I have technically broken the record. I weighed buck naked last Wednesday and was nekkid today, as well. Apples to apples.

I am already very aware of my workout yesterday. I have a feeling I?m going to be a little more sore than usual. I was feeling pretty proud yesterday because the gym owner commented to my trainer about my workout and one of his boot camp participants commented to my trainer that she was blown away by my exercises. My trainer said, ?Yeah, he?s a beast.? The Beast reference is a high caliber compliment. My warm up and cool down were lazy Susan push ups and cable body pull ups. Those push ups after 3 sets of full chest work out are pretty intense, let me tell you! The core workout was decline chest presses (55 pound dumbbells), incline back flies (45 pounds), plank pull overs (50 lbs). The plank pull over is a new move and I LOVE it. Total body compound move- quads, glutes, abs (big time), chest, shoulders, and triceps. Talk about bang for your buck! Not a beginner move for sure.

I have been experimenting with whey protein again. Seems like the intolerance to whey was somewhat short lived. I have tried a Quest bar twice this week. The first time no issues at all. Yesterday, maybe just a tad tummy grumbling, but no violent eruptions of the butt! Today I made my smoothie with 2 scoops of chocolate whey protein isolate. Drank it over about 2 hours and have had no ill effects from it. Having whey protein again will make me happy, though the veggie protein makes a much thicker smoothie. Overall, the whey protein is a better protein with far better absorption than the veggie protein.

BB - I can?t imagine the stress of having your babysitter resign! Maybe it?s all lining up in a way that will help you make your decision.

Diane S. - Glad DH is slowly healing. Yes, new habits would be a good investment. Won?t be going to Redding, but I am going to be in Vallejo the 16th and 17th. You mentioned you and Ardith might come down. Will you be?

Liz-so glad you had some time away from DH to be yourself with your ladies!

Ann - so, so glad to read you are on the mend! I do not do nausea very well at all. I hate throwing up. It has been years and years. I never even threw up post VSG. The worst I have had since VSG is regurgitation when my sleeve is too full. But that?s not like throwing up at all.

Cecily - welcome home. Go get Ferg and love him up. The water will release soon!

Was thinking about David and a few others that no longer check in. Hope they are all well.

Happy Hump Day, one and all!

Oh my gosh reading your post just makes my day!

I can feel the excitement jumping off it! Remember not all days will be like this.

However, as an outside observer, it seems like you like the working out process and weight loss equation from an almost scientific project standpoint. It's given you a new zest! And I'm loving the look on you.

Do you have trouble with whey too? It's coming back to me like we've had this discussion before, but I really do. Idk what it's related to and it makes me really sad. I'm skeered to try protein shakes now.

And re my babysitter, yes it almost seems like this might be another God thing. First the friend last week and now babysitter quitting on me is kind of forcing my hand. Which as someone so afraid to make decisions, it's kind of good for me. But I also detest that. The easy thing to do is to say "I'm 6 months pregnant, I have an 11 month old, and I'm going to take some time to stay home with my babies for now." One thing I'm trying to remember is that what I do today doesn't have to dictate what I do tomorrow. Sure, it affects it. But I'm not doomed from ever working again because I stayed home for 3 years. That's actually a very short timeline. ON the other hand, if I work, plenty of women do that too, no harm no foul.
