Hey Peps, You are deeply embedded in our group and are a total insider, woven into its fabric. so there.

Your food plan sounds good. Hope Ron goes along. And if you don't like spinach in your smoothie, just drink some V8 juice separately. Thats what Dr. Cirangle does.

I feel like a newly sleeved patient. I'm sipping, sipping, progressed from clear liquids to full liquids, and my stomach is gurgling like a Wookie! I did have enough energy to put clean sheets on the bed, and must say, they are heaven. School has been closed in our district through Wednesday, rather unprecedented, but the cold is tremendous. The last time it was this cold 1996!

Gosh! Stay warm!

And that newly sleeved feeling must be amazing! I would like to experience that once more before I die. But I haven't had that kind of tummy bug in decades.

Hey all! Today was an at sea day as is tomorrow as we chug chug down to ***** de Este, Uruguay.

In case you hadn't figured it out, eating sensibly on an all-inclusive cruise is incredibly hard!! I keep getting heartburn from eating too much and I want everything I see. And what you want, they bend over backwards twice over to give to you. Argh. I need them to offer an austerity plan where you get minimal food and no desserts unless you fork over $1000. Can't see that happening!

Today I woke up and ate, read a book, attended several lectures (1 by a former White House correspondent, another was an anchor for a news channel talking about non-US news, and the third was a historian discussing Eva Peron since we end in Argentina), ate again and then yet again, walked on the treadmill out of guilt and shame, had drinks and appetizers (yes, more eating), went to a close up magic show and was part of the show, dressed up for black tie night and ate one last time, went to the casino and lost $20 of my cousin-in-law's money in about 4 minutes, saw a cabaret of Broadway shows and am finally back in bed where I began. Here's my dress, though I don't think you can see any detail because it's black):

Yes, that's me in the ridiculous blue balloon hat. The magician was fantastic! Stole my watch and got playing cards out of my pocket and into the guy's pocket. I never felt a thing!

Anyway, will try to report in tomorrow. WIsh me luck on the indulgence front...

Your day sounds delightfully indulgent! It's not like going on a luxury cruise liner is an everyday occurrence. The heart burn is telling you to dial it back on certain foods, but other than that, enjoy your vacation.

No sense in feeling guilt or shame. Both feelings are undeserved and counter productive for your trip. In the words of Dr. Robert Hartley (Bob Newhart Show many eons ago...) just, "STOP IT!"

Give yourself permission to eat every damn thing you want and make NOTHING off limits. You may find how much freedom that approach gives you and how much the drive to eat subsides. It is an approach that often works for me when faced with similar "free food" situations like your cruise.

Excellent advice, Devon! I figure every day I can still button my pants is a victory
