Oh, were you able to feel the water on your feet? I don't think I would have been able to keep my shoes and sock on!

Okay, now I want pics of the youngish and hopefully attractive stewards on the ship!

We definitely put feet in! People were swimming and there were rocks that you could slide down.

Once again, Cecily, you are doin' it right!

The service levels at the kind of ship you're on are off the charts! They have so much continuous training. And how they remember everyone's names is beyond me.

The only fly in the ointment is that eventually you have to go home.

Hello all!

I like to think that DianeO flew to somewhere warm and is currently sun drunk. MsPlum, best wishes for a smooth re-entry into the working world. It is hard to imagine transitioning from weeks of PJ's into the library, tho. Do you have reduced workload?

DianeS, I have such fond memories of Trinidad with its Fresh Fudge sign. All of a sudden "free samples" makes me think I wouldn't mind a quick drive down there again. By the way, your Sasquatch was far and away better than the chainsaw art! Red eyes and rake!

Wow, Ann, that sounded like loads of fun. Why is it that when fun is dialed up sleep goes down ?

A couple of pics from today's hike. There were clouds in the trees at lower elevation but the top was above the clouds, making for the best view I have had in weeks.

Well my weekend was one for the books, but the way Anne's was! Saturday morning I wook up to the sound of dear husband moaning. I said, we're going to the emergency room. He asked if we could wait an hour so he could rest and get stronger. Um, no. You're not going to get stronger waiting my love, you're going to get weaker. So I get him to the ER and they do the expected and give him fluids, and anti nausea drugs, pain killers, meds to take down his fever... After 6 hours his blood pressure is still dipping, as low as 80/55, so they admit him. Satisfied with his care, I leave at 8pm with intention to go home and change the bedding and tidy up our bedroom so it is pleasant for his return. Alas it was not to be, as I began throwing up in the garage as I got out of the car. Ugh. Thus began 3 hours of emptying out from both ends, often at the same time. Ugh. Once I was at about 20 minutes between bouts, I decided I'd better go to the ER myself before I was as incapacitated as my husband. I packed some leggings and all my clean underwear, emptied out again and rushed out the door. While driving I kept saying, you're okay. I pulled up to the door and knew I couldn't walk in without soiling myself, so I called 911 and asked them to call the hospital and tell them I was outside and could they bring a wheelchair. I sat on a towel I brought with, turns out my precautions were needed. When I got to an exam room, in the midst of my misery, I was pretty pleased I had managed to do this. The DR doctor was less impressed and asked why I had come in if I'd only been throwing up for 3 hours. Uh, because I've already lost enough fluid, I'm alone and if I wait too long I might not be able to help myself... So they did give me a bag of fluids, some protonix, anti diarrhea medicine and a handful of adult diapers. I drove home , used up my diapers over the next few hours, and did NOT get dehydrated, as proven by my ability to sip liquids today. (The last time I got truly dehydrated, I couldn't hold down even a sip, and required 6 bags of saline over 3 days). The intern attending to my husband told him I had in fact done the right thing. So I'm achy and tired and a little feverish, but it's doable. Husband is home, his brother kindly provided a ride, and I loved the sound of him snoring next to me when we took a nap. And that my friends, is my crazy weekend.

Good Lord! What in the world kind of bug do y'all have?

BTW, I think you took care of business (both yours and your husband's) brilliantly. You get an A+, for everything, but you'd still get an A+ solely for taking that towel with you to the hospital.

Jeez, I hope the worst part of this is over for y'all!
