Ruh-roh! And there's a number above my range -- 136.6.
Yesterday (Saturday) was good, productive, and nice weather. And last night was fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy took the T-bird away! Involved were a pre-clubbing dinner at some friends' home, wine, dessert, the French Quarter, the House of Blues, VIP seating, a shockingly great band that just kept playing, some inhalants, tequila shooters, some edibles, and so much dancing my body is still bouncing up and down. Then at 1:30 a.m. another meal and this morning up again at 7:00 a.m. for a Sunday greasy-spoon breakfast of our Uptown "family" and out-of-town visitors. Oh mah gawd!
At that point, I sobered up and drove to a grocery store where I bought some of those low-calorie power bowls I eat when I'm home alone in the Ozarks and need to dial the eating WAY DOWN.
Today's theme: Is it Monday yet?

WHERE IS EVERYONE? It's kind of spooky for the CA boy to log on to find only Ann has said good morning!
Oh, Ann, I couldn't help but laugh at descriptive list of last night's events. My eyebrow**** my hairline with a gleeful s****** reading, "...inhalants, tequila shooters, some edibles..." I have suspected the adventurous party girl in you was waiting for an opportunity to reinvent herself. Sounds like you had an absolute blast! It sounds much like some of the weekend fun I had in my 20s! And yes, I listened to the Beach Boys recording all the way through. I love the Beach Boys. They are probably the first band I ever really liked. My older brother had several albums and I would play the LPs whenever I could get away with it!
Being the generous fellow I am, it looks as if I have shared my cold with Ron. Oops! I sure hope he has a milder version.
Yesterday was just what the doctor ordered! I put the last Xmas box away, then proceeded to clean. There was a great satisfaction in getting the cleaning done. Will do a little more today.
I am not able to get Ron to talk about a food program. I think it's boiling down to this: He wants me to do the work for him. Not sure what to do other than just go ahead and get going on my own and see if he jumps on board. I'm going to give it one last stab after church today. I'm thinking if we go out to brunch, then I will have his undivided attention and we can go to the supermarket immediately after to grab anything we might need for a work week of healthful eating.
Weight was back down a pound. That was a good thing.
Yesterday while putting pictures back on the mantle I noticed a picture of myself from April 2016. OMG! I want to see him in the mirror again! Talk about incentive! Sheesh! He was 50 pounds ago.....
My theme for the week: Channel the successful traits of those I admire! Because, let's be honest: I want to be you guys when I grow up!
All I'll say is that the time-worn recipe for an evening during which a good time was had by all has not changed one whit in the last fifty years.

Greetings Party Animals
Hi all, hope the lack of many posts this am means that all are having a lazy relaxing Sunday or are recovering from a wild Saturday night (Ann!).
Whew Ann, all your fun must be exhausting. So great that you are living it up! You must be friends with half of NOLA now which as I recall is not that big of a town. Anyway so glad you had a great time.
154.5 today. I ate very little for dinner last night - was just tired and amazingly not hungry. Had gallery duty and then after that had to go to the other gallery and pack and move my stuff because we are painting and such. I might need to go buy us a new printer for the place. Also the "Fresh Fudge" sign now says "Fresh Fudge - Free Tastes". Just what I need.
Peps hope you are feeling better and that you stayed in jammies all day. Nothing is so healing as a jammy day. And ditto to SteffiePlum. Take it easy.
DH is trying a day without pain pills. I can see it is not going to go well. He is already moaning. I think he should take a half. He has run through his initial prescription but as mentioned it got filled twice.
Shirl glad the heat broke. Now if only New York State could warm up a little for OceanDiane. We are lucky to have a calm sunny crisp day here and the crab shack is open.
Cecily, lets hear some adventures when you can. Cheers All. Diane S
"Fresh fudge ... free tastes!" That is NO help at all.
But I LOLed.

Good Morning - Monday here but a public holiday in lieu of Australia Day falling on a weekend. I will take that. I of course couldnt sleep in so here I am 6.30am sipping a cup of tea. Weighed this morning and I knew it would be bad - too much wine and nibbles over the past week have rightly showed on the scales - 172.26. Im in my no go zone so will work on that this week. Dinner out tonight for my youngest sons 20th Birthday then we will drive 3.5 hrs back up to the farm
Planning on getting a lot done down here (city house) as only here one day. Wash DH Ute and clean inside, mulch trees we have cut down (as I picked up the chipper from being serviced last week) Clean up back yard, clean chook house, gardening etc etc. Weather will only reach 90 so that will be cooler than we have had.
Ann - I so love reading about your adventures. You are amazing and I would love to be joining you - though at times I dont think I could keep up. Smiling ear to ear. Have a good recovery day :)
Peps - Sorry Ron now has your cold. Bummer. Hope you are successful in getting him to agree to a healthy eating plan over brunch today. Its always so much easier if your partner is fully on board.
Diane - Ohhh fudge - that would get me. Good luck resisting. Hope DH manages without pain relief else half sounds like it would be a good idea.Yes I wish I could send some of our heat to warm up Ocean - but guess everything would just melt and make sludge huh.
Well I best go get my jobs started. DH is sleeping in this am. Im going to pop out and get his car washed while he snoozes - one thing off the list.
Have a great Sunday all :)

Hey all! Reporting in from the island of Ihlabela, Brazil. We had a fantastic hike today for just our group to a beautiful waterfall. The island is huge and is 90% provincial park. So it's jungle everywhere you look. The butterflies were amazing. The butterflies were amazing. Some I didn't get a picture of were electric blue and even seemed to glow in the sunlight. I did get a good shot of one that looked like a Kermit the Frog green monarch. Again the sweating was epic. At least my pores gave all been cleaned out!
There is an X Factor finalist singing in a few, then we have my cousin-in-law's birthday dinner at the swanky Italian restaurant on the ship. The staff is unbelievable. Even the drink servers remember your name and ask is your traveling partners are joining you by name. They remember what you like to drink. One young looking man has been working for the cruise libe for 20 years...
Thank you for taking the time to post! I love all the details and pics! Beautiful butterflies! Do you have to worry mosquitos (or whatever is their Brazilian equivalent)
