Oh, yes! I love those small ship, all-inclusive, spoil-you-rotten cruises! You're doin' it right! :)

Greetings Warm Friends

Forgot to weigh today. How convenient.

Lordy Ocean Diane, I feel your cold weather pain! Rain on top of snow is the worst. The ice jams on the river sound horrific. The national news didn't explain the extent of the issues - probably because they are obsessed with political junk. Yes, you should just go to the airport and take the first flight to somewhere warm now that the airport log jams are hopefully clearing up. At least find someplace where you can sit in a hot sauna. You are brave to go driving about in such weather.

Liz you party animal. Glad you had some fun and DH too. Hope you can have more days like that where you get to be off duty.

Hmm Shel, yes I bet its depressing to hear about people's food issues. Seems like that shouldn't be part of your job description but probably no way to avoid it. I once asked my surgeon if he ever got sick of hearing about people's eating all the time and he said no. I think he was lying. People just love to talk about themselves and its usually heath and food. Bla Bla Bla. Hope you have some good hikes planned.

Yuck Peps, lice! Poor kids. Makes me wonder about the kids in our studio classes. Many have dreadlocks which is so weird for caucasian kids with straight hair. Yeah rest up and skip the benched show. Why do they even do those anymore?

DH is a little better every day. Thats good because he is nearing the end of his first bottle of pain pills. He might dip into the second one but I doubt for long. Incision is healing nicely.

Diamond sorry your DH has been sick. Good on you for staying close to home. Rest is best.

Cecily glad the ship has some hiddey holes. But deck chair, blanket and book sounds good too. Is there an on board Starbucks type place? Enjoy every minute.

Yep Shirley, go find the swimming hole. Can't believe you guys are building a hay barn in this heat. Sounds like the doggie was lucky to get hosed off. Remember being a kid and playing in the lawn sprinkler?

Gallery duty this afternoon (Shel its the one near the Fresh Fudge outlet). It will be slow so I will bring some paperwork to do. And hey, giant bigfoot statues have been done - with chain saws!

Yesterday I did the sales tax returns for both galleries. For one I had to call the state office for some assistance. Gosh, how nice to promptly get a friendly helpful knowledgeable person who quickly talked me though the process. Customer service BB! What a concept!

Time for coffee. Cheers and warmth to all. Diane S

There is! They'll make and specialty coffee drinks and they hare sugar free hazelnut and vanilla syrups. They stock your fridge with drinks twice a day, whatever your favorites are. I get Diet Coke, Sprite Zero and sparkling mineral water. Honestly with the endless parade of food and drinks, it's hard to imagine how they make any money despite high fare prices...

Good morning! I slept a good 9 hours. Not solid sleep, but not too much disruption, which for me, is quite something. I think you all know that even under the best conditions I awaken several times per night. Often times it's awakening at 3:00 am and then every 30 minutes give or take until it's time to get up. Those nights are tiring. At one time I thought it might be a sleep apnea thing, but my sleep apnea was very mild prior to VSG, not requiring a cpap machine unless I really wanted it. I did not! Then ,once I was thin, the sleep apnea was gone. I'm sure it's back because Ron says I snore again. Maybe I will try one of those little nose apparatuses that claims to work so well against sleep apnea.

My weight jumped up to 256 today. Booooo, but not unexpected I suppose. I was super low on water yesterday. I already started to pound it back this morning. Being less hydrated is not helping my congestion one bit. I'm still hacking up lung bits! YUCK!

I have decided that I am staying in my pajamas until NOON! Sort of delightfully wicked, isn't it? LOL!

One last Christmas box to go up into the rafters today. Then Christmas will be officially put away until next Christmas. I am enjoying my relaxed attitude about getting this work done. I was not that way at all as a younger man. It was all about getting the job done and put away and not finding peace until I was satisfied the job was complete - which usually meant a thorough cleaning, too. I would stay up till all hours getting stuff done I was so obsessive. I think it was a way to feel in control.

I played with the STRS (state teacher's retirement system) calculator last night. Looks like I will be waiting until I'm 62 to retire. As much as I would like to retire at 61, to qualify for the Early Retirement Package I would have to retire about 8 weeks before I maxed out on age credit. In the long run that would not be the most prudent thing to do. Staying until I'm 62 will bring in another $3200 per year every year, which more than makes up for any lump sum losses staying the extra year would mean. Now, if I stayed until 65, that would be even better. Retirement at 65 would mean an additional 10K per year than retiring at age 61 or and additional $6,800 per year than retiring at age 62. Wor****il I'm 70? I'd retire at close to full salary. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. LOL!

I plan to sit down with Ron today and map out some back on track food guidelines. Like BB, I find that Ron and I equate food with love and affection. I notice when we become lax in our food regimen we both start bringing home little "treats" for the other. Cute, affectionate, and a way to show the other person we were thinking about them during our days, but still not the most healthy way to express our adoration.

Well, 1/2 an hour more until I should get dressed, but you know, I think I might just play this day by ear and get dressed when I damn well feel like it!

Satisfying Saturdays to all!

Devon, I really admire your more mature approach to getting stuff done -- get it done, but leave the obsession behind.

Lately, I've been using an "adulting" mantra to help do some chores and shoulder responsibilities that feel heavy, boring, or confusing, as in: "It's adulting time." "Come on, adult up!" Makes me feel like a millennial who's trying to grow up. :)
