Good Morning All - Start of the working week for me today UGGG. Hoping the day wont be too busy. I have an appointment to get my hair cut & coloured after work then home to make a later dinner as my best friend and her husband are coming for a meal. Not sure what I will cook yet.
Weekly weight 170.28
Had a good weekend. Bella came through her surgery well and is on pain relief. The cut is huge but shes managing well and no drain which makes it easier. We had a friends 70th birthday at an Irish Bar Sat lunchtime. It was a great 4 hours and got to meet some lovely people. Then home as DSS, his partner and our grandson where coming for dinner. Had a great night playing with Ashton and gave him a bath. He is a character and makes our hearts sing. Sunday we went over to my mums for 4 hours and did a huge yard clean up. Ripped out huge flax grasses as she wants Roses in their place now, cut back the yukka trees as they had grown over the pathways, trimmed the ferns, weeded and poisioned the pathways and cleaned everything up. Its looking much nicer now and I certainly got a good workout! Came home and did some work here as well. Cut back a few trees, treated the Myrtles for powdery mildew, stewed the last of the cherries, made a big stir fry and rice - more meals for the freezer. DH went back to the farm last night - I will go Thursday after work once Bella gets the all clear from the vet.
I hope to go back over everyones posts through the day and catch up on whats been happening
Gorgeous picture BB - you look wonderfully healthy - glow mumma glow

No whining today. Well, not much anyway. I slept in my bed all night and had pretty good sleep. RLS didn't rear its ugly head...just peaked in but I was able to go back to sleep. Today, we're watching football...Go Saint! Go Chiefs!
Diane, hope your DH was able to come home today.
Devon, give yourself some rest!
DianeO, are you snowed in?
Liz, hope you were able to enjoy the day with DH.
David, how are you doing?
Ann, love you NOLA adventures.
Shirl, your day made me tired just reading about it!
Paula, hope all is well with you and yours.
Praying for another good nights sleep!
Peace and strength!
It's been a very nice weekend, after a rather trying week at work. I don't have the Sunday evening blues however, because tomorrow is a teacher workshop day. I always think it's funny that although I'm working, having no students makes it feel like a day off. Teaching takes a serious amount of energy. Here's to knocking back mounds of paperwork while I sit at my desk wearing leggings and a sweatshirt, and going to the bathroom whenever I damn well please.
Anything where you are responsible for kids well-being, especially teaching, takes a ton of energy. I am always in awe of what teachers do for our children. I don't think I could do it for the long run without burning out. Thank you DD!

Greetings Dear Ones
Dh is officially home from the hospital. This morning his doctor came by and said red blood count was low and they might have to transfuse him. Did an EKG. He left the hospital weighing 11 pounds more than when he went in no doubt due to bag after bag of fluids. Got him some pain meds and iron pills and he is happily dozing in his big boy chair.
He did not want me to get a walker. I worry because he has so many boxes of junk on his side of the bed. He may sleep in his chair. Put a pillow on his belly in case the dogs jump up
Of course its pouring rain and we had to go pick up drugs at world's slowest drug store. I am like you BB, I think customer service is dead. His pain drug got filled twice as I thought he was coming home Friday and got it from a nearby place. Then the called it in again this slow dumb place way out of the way. I questioned it and then they had to fool around some more. I told them they could just keep it but then they rang it up. Whatever. They go through all this stuff on narcotic - norco- but then we get a double supply. We could become dealers.
So I am trying to come up with high iron foods so DH can build blood back up. He has never had such an issue before and I don't think there was huge blood loss during surgery.
Sorry this is such a self centered post but this stuff is on my mind. Friends called and offered to come over and help me get DH in the house if needed. Nice. We only have a couple of steps and he did fine. The dogs seem to know to leave them alone.
BB you look so great - you should be a cover girl on parents magazine.
Ann I hope you are writing a travel diary on the NOLA time. Shirly you should too on your transition to farm life.
Dogs are fed, DH is safely home and life is good. Luv ya all. Diane S
