Oops, I just typed 2018 again...
Weight 122.8, calories 824. Pretty good eating day.
We made fish in the air fryer. It tasted great and was cooked nicely (used buttermilk, whole wheat panko and some fish seasoning), but it was pretty much the same as if I did it in the oven. Perhaps there was too much fish? Do I need to make sure there is only one layer? Do I need a rack for more fish than will fit in a layer? At least I know how it functions now (pretty simple). I just need to figure out how to make things crispy.
Today is supposed to be 80, then rain and another cool down are coming. I hope we can go to our favorite beach in Boca Grande. It is like a Caribbean beach with white soft sand and turquoise water. DH was interested last night, but he slept on the couch almost all day yesterday. Maybe withdrawal from the Namenda, or maybe he is just returning to a normal current state? It is better than aggressive restlessness though.
Diane, I hope DH is doing well today so you can bring him home. And also that you got some good rest last night.

I am really rather proud of myself for pumping iron yesterday. And I'm also a little bit sore in a way I haven't been for 21 years. I took it easy, doing only two sets of a dozen or so exercises. One of the two trainers at the gym is a monster, and he's already been a big help. It's interesting feeling my body find the proper forms again for those old exercises and feeling a "click" when it does. I'm going to have fun settling into a regular routine.
Weight resistance aligns with my 2019 fitness goal to build more muscle mass. I don't want to lose any more weight, just stay under 135 most of the time and reduce a few percentage points of body fat by year's end. As I said to the trainer, "I'm in good shape for my age, but in a couple of years I'll be 75. And then I'll be 80. I need to be ready for more challenges that are coming down the pike." In other words, I'd really like to skip the broken hip experience. Or if that does happen, to be in good enough shape to get back in shape after it's repaired.
Today will be busy with a party at my French school, shopping and dinner with friends. Next week is going to be very social, since other friends who have a second home here are flying in this weekend and wanting to spend time with my other friends who live here and me. A dinner party and a dinner out next week are already on the calendar.
Then tomorrow afternoon is the big game - NOLA Saints v. L.A. Rams. Who dat?!
And in the cultural department, I'm flirting with the idea of staying up late tonight for a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" viewing. Remember when we used to bring cigarette lighters? Now it's just cell phones or glow sticks. But toilet paper is still acceptable ... LOL! If I go I'll definitely jump up and dance in the aisle to "Let's do the Time Warp again!" And if someone here doesn't know what I'm talking about, you've got some happy googling ahead. ?

Good morning!
Well, it is Tacoma weekend, where I (and another mom) are spending a stunning amount of time shuttling our honor orchestra kiddos to two days of practice and concert. Tacoma is about an hour away and it is NOT near elevation for hiking. I love that they have this opportunity and the concert should be really good.
I'm driving a rental cuz I got rear-ended a couple of weeks ago and my car is in the shop. You know are busy when a fender bender doesn't make you late for work and you hardly mention to anyone. The woman who hit me (she was cleaning her sticky hands at a light and the car jumped forward) was exactly the same way. We got the job done.
BB, at work we have a saying "don't jump in the pool" for when we are working with patients who have a lot of problems. I know your husband has an emotional investment in his friends (and good for him) that is different than my relationship with patients.....but, still maybe you could start using that phrase on him.
DianeS, best wishes for hubby today. It is hard to see someone you love in the hospital. Your family has a lot going on.
Liz, my pharmacist brain has soaked in your Namenda story with great interest. Your PJ story was sadly funny. I was disturbed there was even a possibility of him trying to take them off of you.
MsPlum, hope you find relief for RLS. I'm hoping that it goes away as your body heals. "Who handles what" is a major source of conflict between primary care and surgical teams. Primary care feels like you do....surely that is surgery related. Why can't surgery wrap that into their care for simplicity for the patient? But, those are our grumbles outside the earshot of the patient. That nurse likely knows her boss doesn't want to address RLS....and, he might not even know a lot about it.
Had my eval yesterday at work. I am still employed. They make the eval super positive so you walk out of there wanting to do even better. Sneaky *******s.
I'll add a pic from a different trail than usual but still Tiger mtn. I haven't done this trail FOREVER because I have to walk by a very small homeless camp to get to it. One person had a beautiful Pomeranian.....or, maybe they had a visitor that brought the dog. I wish I could say I see these peeps as just peeps but I am afraid of them as I walk thru with my pointy hiking sticks at the ready.

Very cold, sunless, and windy here today. Look out those of you east of me. No snow here- guess it's saving up to dump upon you, Diane! Pile up the heating pellets (way to think ahead- preparing good food that can be warmed in the fire) and get ready to hunker down! The snow will be beautiful, but if you get as much as predicted---DOG!!!
Diane S. Hopes this finds DH resting peacefully with all issues resolved. A little less drama would be welcomed- may it be so.
My only experience with restless leg syndrome occurred years and years ago as I was recovering from a back surgery. A week or 10 days after coming home, I could not seem to rest in bed unless I continually moved my legs across the sheets--could not let my legs be still without wigging out. Come to find out, I was experiencing withdrawal from the narcotics I was on for pain control and had stopped taking. Lasted about two days. Brrrrrrrr..... Steph, I surly hope you get yours resolved. I would not wish that feeling on anyone--'specially someone as sweet as you.
I've survived two days work. The weekend arrived just in the nick of time, and luckily, Monday is a no school day. Poor DH- I go to work, come home...that's it. It's all good, though, I can do it and it's uphill from here.
Funny how the topic came up about the benefits of intermittent fasting. Food (still somewhat a mysterious and iffy adventure) is not something I've been doing - in effect eliminating breakfast and lunch so I figure I'm fasting about 19 or 20 hours a day and eating between 4 and 9 pm. If I don't eat, I'm surprisingly not hungry, however, the first few bites of food seems to wake up my appetite and that includes the refined carb and nut monster - not hard to nibble my way through quite a bit of that in 5 hours. Part of this pattern seems to be more of my defaulting to ease of consumption than of taste--so much easier to eat than protein.
Enjoy the weekend! Will be watching the Chiefs --hopeful, but have learned over the years NOT invest a lot of emotional energy. DH is tired of seeing the Patriots (sorry any NE fans) in the Super Bowl and wants the home team to prevail. He will change into his team shirt for the game - guess it's a guy thing.
