Yesterday, at the last minute, (because that's what retired people can do) we decided to drive to Rochester and Lake Ontario. We planned to walk along this massive great lake and have lunch watching the water. When we arrived, we encountered a massive snow squall.. 3"-4" an hour snow. We hunkered down to eat lunch, not even seeing the road, much less the lake. By the time we finished, the snow had subsided, but the wind gusts and wind chill precluded any walking and blew our SUV around on the road a bit. We'll see our next weather system tomorrow, with 3-5". Saturday into Sunday, the BIG ONE from the west coast is aiming to share 14"-24" of snow, and windy, frigid weather. We'll stock pile some additional pellets downstairs (another ton being delivered to the garage tomorrow) and I'll pre-make some meals I can reheat in cast iron on the wood stove, should need be. The blowing snow afterwards sounds just as ominous as the snow itself. I have a mammo at 9 and fasting bloodwork at 9:45 (What was I thinking not eating for sixteen hours, when I scheduled this ? Thank God for black coffee !)

I miss seeing the snow, but not otherwise. What an adventure!

Weight 122.8, calories 1763. Wine and cornbread were involved. I theoretically make the cornbread for DH who loves it, but then I eat large chunks of it! Not good, but I feel like I can't cut out everything that he likes and I crave.

The Namenda brain is almost gone (last 5 mg pill this morning). Last night DH accused me of wearing his pajamas because he thought they looked like his. He had his on at the time btw. His were knit, navy blue background with Red Sox emblems all over them. Mine were non-knit cotton, navy blue background with pink and white anchors on them. He is 6'3", 175 pounds btw to my 5'3", 122.8 pounds. I finally just went into another room to watch TV because he wouldn't stop. A while later he came in to apologize and was all teary. The Namenda brain would have gotten furious and either tried to pull them off me or paced restlessly until I gave them to him (to squirrel away).

Speaking of squirreling, I bought 3 more pairs of clip-on sunglasses and a whole box of silicone nose pads for DH. Both are getting lost constantly. In fact, his backup regular glasses have been missing for a long time now.

Today, we are going to the beach to meet with DH and SIL's cousins for dinner. I wi**** would be warm enough to sit on the beach beforehand but I think it will only be in the mid 60's. Maybe we will just take a walk...

Have a thrilling Thursday!

Glad to hear things continue to improve with DH.

But regarding his lost sunglasses and other things, I'm right there with him, am no better at all than he is at keeping up with my own face gear. A few weeks ago I lost my favorite sunglasses, and I'm still pining for them. Sniff!

Your little 1200 sq. foot place looks bigger than my 1435 sq foot place! Love the murphy bed, btw! The colors and new floor, new counters.... FANTASTIC! I want to live there! I love your sense of style.

I wouldn't mind, but I love my Cape Cod home too (and my younger children are in Massachusetts).
