Hello All!
Shirl, are the snakes a threat to the chooks?
Now, all about me: I did my usual Sunday training hike (about 45 minutes longer than usual and now 30 lbs extra per plan) and am in a world of hurt that is hard to describe. Lower body muscles sore and nerves buzzing. I'm in a phase that was described as "never allowing rest so expect discomfort." True that.
To add insult, the only sample available at grocery store was Folgers Cappuccino. As if. The guy giving out the sample looked to be about 85 years, cute as could be, and super friendly. I still didn't pick up the sample. I should have stopped at the Organic grocery but I needed bran buds which apparently don't meet their lofty standards.
Then, insult upon insult, I arrived home just as I receiving a text saying Amazon had just delivered a package which I know are ankle weights. I'm not going to open that anytime soon.
Ann, I'm rooting for your Saints as I lie on the sofa with Buster and a blankie. Let the debauchery begin.
Enjoy the rest of the day,
Shel

Saints won! Was quite a game.
And the 2 slices of thin crust pizza were fab, as was the Brussels sprouts salad, which sounds weird but wasn't.
I say don't open that Amazon package until March.

Hey Shel - yes they can be - but if there is enough feed (mice, frogs etc) they will tend to stay away. Many ppl place bird netting around the base of their chook yards - I dont think we will do that as I dont fancy tangling with a very angry cornered Brown Snake once hes caught in it. See what happens. Im hopeful the zap from the electric fence will be enough of a deterant. My biggest fear after seeing a picture was seeing a brown snake curled up under a chook - it had bitten then curled up under it for warmth. Gives me the shivers to think of reaching under the chook thinking she was just clucky and right onto snake. Always mindful :)
Enjoy your downtime :)

Here's a little sun after the rain here yesterday in the park that runs behind my house.
More rain coming tomorrow through Thursday! We never have rain events that last that long. The hills are already turning green. Should be a good year for wildflowers.
Today's weight was more of the same. I hiked a little over 5 miles plus two dog walks for just under 7 miles for the day.
I am craving that fresh grocery store french loaf bread like nobody's business. With tons of butter. Lord, save me from myself. Gah!!
What a nice area to have right behind your house! So pretty. It must be fun watching things green up --- I'm looking forward to wild flower pics!

Beautiful park! But bread cravings - yep!

Decided to return to adult life today. Cleaned the kitchen up after leaving the menfolk unsupervised, cooked dinner, did laundry, packed my lunch... still had time to read two Sunday papers and watch the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon. Hoping I am restored, because I am going to need a lot of patience this week, as we are starting 1st semester finals week.
