Good morning!

I don't know what my DNA says, but I am soaking up positive self talk that I respond to endurance training. That's new self talk. I also renewed an old mantra of "I don't eat stuff like that" which really does help me not feel deprived when I skip the ample bites of candy available at work. The not deprived part is huge. Sometimes skipping feels as much of a trigger as going ahead and having it.

DianeS, tell DH that I'm sending positive self talk to him that his gallbladder behaves and he gets everything he needs to move forward. I would send a pic of of Redwood but you folks don't need pics.

Ann -- that yoga class sounded similar to a yin class, otherwise known as dessert yoga. Delicious! And, effective, too!

Cecily -- even when I'm eating high protein/low carb, I try to get a bunch of fiber in. No matter what, I still need miralax 2-3 times a week. Now, tho, I am eating high fat/low carb (still with a bunch of fiber) 4 times a week and I no longer need miralax! The extra fat has been amazing for that. I'm super reluctant to increase saturated fat so most of the fat comes from avocados, olive oil (as I prepare veggies) and nuts and eggs. (I can't remember how much fat eggs have, tho, off the top of head) Of course avocado (especially) and nuts contribute to fiber, too) I was worried that I would feel more hungry with less protein but it hasn't been all that different.

BB -- poor little nugget! It is really hard to know when little ones are truly better -- can totally relate to not calling it right and then being proved wrong in spectacular fashion.

Hugs to every single one of you. pic below for fiber planning. Also, came across a pic of my plant-an-intention mandala that I came across. It's always the season for intentions.

135.4, up a bit. Made the trip across the state for a baby shower for my niece that I am helping host today. I'm in charge of the food (of course) lol! I actually don't mind, it is what I am good at!

I bought an air fryer and have only used it once I think. I have most of the kitchen gadgets out there. I already need to store most of it in the basement which is why it doesn't get used as much!

I did not read any posts from yesterday until this morning.

Ann, I am glad to read that you made it through yesterday with strength and good companionship. My heart felt a pang when I read your post.

I do not have time to write the post that I should today. I'm going to try to pull myself up by my bootstraps today. I don't know what else to do. As much as I am loathe to practice a mindless, JFDI, I am going to have to. Just typing that the emotion wells up from the depths. Sheesh... The self deprecating tapes started to immediately play, too.

Off to groom all. day. long.....

Aw Peps, I'm sorry you've slipped into a dark place again. DO NOT listen to those tapes!!! They are lies. You're a fantastic human being, teacher, friend, partner, dog breeder/groomer/snuggler, weight lifter, trailer driver... the list goes on and on.

Thanks, Cecily! I haven't truly slipped into a dark place, but am circling around the edge.

I have been over sugared this week, too, which I'm sure has added to the gloomy mood.

Good to hear! If we can help you get away from the edge, let us!

I am so sorry you are down again. You really are a phenomenal person. I wish the tapes in your head paid attention to who the true Devon is.

Oh, I'm okay. Just feeling a little poopy. Nothing I won't turn around in a bit.

Greetings Maintenance Buddies

154.5 today. Its sunny and calm and even though its not really warm, the dogs are basking on the deck. DH is off to the health food store to buy his beloved sprouted almonds, of which he eats exactly 12 per day. Cecily that's a good fiber food. Ann is right about the f and v - if you eat more of those you will get fiber. Early on after wls I would eat 3 prunes per day which I happen to like. Might do that again. Also I find a small apple very filling though its not the highest on Shel's fiber chart. Remember when you were a kid and your mom told you you had to eat cabbage because you needed the "roughage" ? No one called it fiber in the 1950's and 60's.

Ann you truly are rocking the NOLA experience. Glad you got some dress up stuff. I sure as heck hope you brought a tutu or two with you. A mardi gras must?

Peps, sorry you are feeling blue. Time to hit the "erase" button on those tapes or at least the "pause" button. A day with dogs may be just the ticket.

I worked at the gallery until 6 and at 5 all the nibbles for the later evening art opening showed up. Of course I couldn't leave the chips alone. They were some kind of ritz chips brought by a person who is chemically sensitive and only eats organic. Also some mini quiches. I was able to escape after eating only one.

Bread machine DianeO! I agree its great for pizza dough and whole grain bread. Years ago I mostly used it as a dough mixer though I did set it up when guests came so they would wake up to the smell of home made bread. But it broke and I never replaced it. Just don't eat bread anymore. An air fryer does sound like a good option. I need to go to a store and look at one.

My older brother called me yesterday. He is in a rehab center having had a femur replaced with a rod since he shattered it. He will be there another month. I think he was lonely as there were blizzard warnings in the midwest and his wife didn't want to venture out. Too dangerous. Ann be glad you are not there. Bonnie 150, DD, Paula and other midwesterners, how are you faring? Did you get a big snow blast. Be careful all. Diane S
