Cecily, I'm really looking forward to your South American cruise. I've never traveled to or cruised on the eastern side of that continent and hope to learn a lot from your visit there.
And take this from a fairly experienced cruiser about the hotel option -- take it, luxuriate in it, rest, enjoy! I think you made the right choice. You'll have PLENTY of cousin time after you board the ship. :)

Greetings Dear Ones
155 today due to late night cracker eating. Need to put those out of sight or out of house. I got them for guests. Or so I told myself. Dinner was part of a pastrami sandwich that DH brought home from lunch. Pretty greasy and not my favorite thing. Note to self: don't eat stuff you don't like. And don't eat stuff you don't need.
Ann we are thinking of you today. Glad you made some plans to not be alone and have some good company. Your girls night out sounds so special. You seem to have so many wonderful friends and that is a great gift - no accident either. Book club sounds cool too. Right on NOLA.
Liz sorry DH had a bad night. Hoping the namenda removal does the trick. Glad the home projects are done and that you had a good walk. Geez, 40 degrees in FL!! So wrong. Its warmer than that here.
Cecily you will be glad you have that hotel room and can crash and rest. When we flew to Dublin some years ago we arrived late morning and were able to check in to the hotel right away. Proceeded to nap for several hours. It was necessary. And good on you for your big hike the other day. Fast pace indeed.
DH has his pre op visit to the hospital today. The thing is we don't know what the surgery will be. He is scheduled for hernia repair but had the alleged gall stone attack last week and has an ultra sound for that scheduled Tuesday and the surgery Friday except the primary care doctor says the gallstones must be addressed first if the scan shows a problem. This not knowing drives me nuts but DH just kind of goes with the flow.
DD that is indeed theatre of the absurd! Headphones over hoodie. LOL.
Air fryers do sound like a good thing. I think I will at least look at one in a store. I don't get how they work or clean up so not sure I would use it. But you guys have never steered me wrong in the world of food.
Gallery duty this afternoon. I am there until 6 and I hate being there after dark. I guess I will amuse myself with iPhone flashlight like last time. That and crosswords. But there is an art opening tonight starting when I leave so I will probably end up helping with some of that.
Well off to find something useful to do like maybe take more stuff to the thrift store like I did yesterday. But first ....well, you know. Diane S

Question for everyone... What are your thoughts on fiber?
It's important for colon health, but I got away from it after my sleeve, initially because there was no room for it. But now, I'm thinking I'd rather not be dependent on Miralax until I die. I get half the recommended fiber grams in a day typically. Do you think about fiber? Try to get it? If so, how? Do you supplement instead of getting it with food? I was reading that pears and raspberries has some of the highest fiber counts so I was going to pick some up today...
I could preach a sermon on fiber! But I'll try not to do so now. ;)
Women are supposed to have at least 21 grams of fiber daily. I usually get 25-35 grams, thanks to my focus on veggies and fruit and my daily target of 8 servings of V/Fs.
However, I also take a daily over-the-counter stool softener. The more veggies and fruits I eat, the better I poop.
That is all. :)

P.S. What thrills me about lots of fiber from my veggies and fruits is that it keeps me feeling full, burning my calories a bit slower, and combats the urge for sugar and other processed carbs. OK, I'm stopping now. :)
