Weight 123, calories 751, and best of all a day when I had control over my eating. In other words, I didn't overly restrict and in fact went out for dinner but I controlled the snacking. It is the snacking especially at night that is my downfall. And I know why. During my first short marriage (age 17-21), I was very unhappy. When my then husband went out at night (a lot, but that was a relief), I would eat uncontrollably. Cakes, cookies, pastries, oh my! So my nighttime medication craving comes from those years...
Anyway, granite is in, plumbing is working, and the areas around the vanity that got banged up are repaired. DH is in the middle of titrating down from the Namenda. The dizziness seems to be gone but he had a serious nasty spell yesterday when he was banging the counter because it was my fault his nose runs after eating (as does mine btw). Really scary when he does that. It might also be partly because he had to get up relatively early two days in a row because of the work in our place. I'm hoping to keep him sleeping as late as possible today.
It is COLD here this morning (42). But I am going walking with the ladies at 8, home for breakfast at 9, showered and at the tire dealer by 10, and back for a volunteer job in the park at noon. That's my list for today!
Have a fantastic Friday!

I couldn?t get the pictures of current and before bathroom to load yesterday. Liz, you inspired me to try again today ! Sorry about DH?s anger issues. Have you developed a safety plan in the event that you or he become unsafe ? ( Where would he be transported to ? Do the ambulance service and police have relevant records on file?diagnosis, treating physician?s name/standing orders) to streamline activation of the plan should a crisis occur ?
So excited about the dinner I made last night?nothing like BB?s mouth watering photo or Ann?s descriptions, but found a new FAV ! Bok choy ! Love, love ! Put some onions and garlic in olive oil. After seasoned, added sliced Bok choy, then a kale and spinach mix, also shredded. Served with air fried catfish. Still smiling !!

That meal sounds great! What kind of air fryer do you have?
I don't have explicit plans, but do have an as needed prescription for Risperidone (an anti-psychotic) if needed in that type of situation. I would try to get it into him (hopefully I would have some lead time because he kind of builds up). If the worst happened I'd call 911. We have a lot of people very close by who would help (and SIL will be here after Sunday). We are hoping it is mostly the Namenda which can exacerbate aggression in some people. Once he is fully off it (takes about two weeks), he will be going on trazodone which may help calm him some as well.

I love my Harbor Air 3.8 quart air fryer ! There are bigger, multi level models, but this is perfect for us.
Can't get the link to Amazon active, but here it is !

This morning at home in Missouri, it's sleeting and snowing, and roads are icing over. Here in NOLA, the weather forecast for today is sunny and 63 degrees. :)
Last night, my friend and I got dressed up for a girls' night out and went to one of our favorite Uptown restaurants with a famous but small bar (only 9 seats) and a bartender who made for us THE BEST OLD FASHIONED ****TAILS (large, so only one each) that I've ever had. Then for dinner we split a couple of appetizers--fried oysters with brie and a lightly dressed salad of kale, roasted beets, toasted pecans, and feta cheese. The meal was incredibly delicious and just enough, although the macros posted above don't look like a good day of maintenance eating anywhere but on a random weeknight in January in The Big Easy.
Yesterday morning's book club gathering at the public library on St. Charles Avenue was also excellent! I joined eight lovely people who offered thoughtful, cogent comments on the book, American culture, and echoes of NOLA they heard in the book. The month's selection was The Devil in the White City, a 2003 non-fiction by Erik Larson (Shel, you probably know of this guy, since he lives in Seattle) about events leading up to and during the Chicago World's Fair of 1892. BTW, Leonardo DiCaprio has bought the movie rights and will star in it, and Martin Scorsese will direct. The film will be released in 2020. Back to the book club ... I'll definitely participate again in February and March.
As you are about to read, I have buried the lede. Today is the first anniversary of my beloved husband's death. I've been dreading this day, and last weekend I told my friends that I do not wish to be alone tonight. So for dinner tonight we're going out to another lovely restaurant. We'll be joined by yet another of my friends' cousins who's visiting from Tibet where she lives with her Tibetan husband (more about that later). This morning I'll go to yoga class and do some grocery shopping; this afternoon I'll walk in the park.
I thank you all for being here. This community and communication channel is so very important to me.
