Bonnie, that's so smart to practice your new schedule a week before it officially starts!
And yes, you are making progress and will make so much more very soon. My NOLA friend (who's very fit and active) is now recovering from hip replacement surgery. She said that after the first month (which was kind of discouraging, in terms of how she felt) that she's been improving so much more rapidly. Funny how that happens.

DianeO....I'm glad that you will get the remodel you were promised!
Ann....sorry about that eye. Gosh, NOLA sounds grand.

Thank you, Shel. I'm now back to considering this continuing delay of cataract surgery in terms of what is NOT wrong with me and how much is GOING WELL for me at the moment.

What Devon said. Have forwarded the "minds over genes" link to friends already!
Thank you!

Weight 124.2. Arghh... my own fault. More carbs during a crazy day including some yummy tart cherry preserves (I was chuckling when I read yesterday's posts).
The granite is in and the plumber is here putting the new faucets in. It looks great - pics in the next couple of days. My next couple of projects (I know I create them to keep busy doing fun stuff) is fixing the scrapes where they took out the vanity top in our bathroom (minor), and using chalkboard paint to paint the backsplash area in the kitchen. I want to try it and see if I like it. If not, I can put regular paint back or tile over it. I also got some very inexpensive white sheers to put in the corners of the lanai for character. I'm going to make "rods" out of PVC pipe.
It took me a while to figure out what ACOA meant when I read the posts from yesterday, but I'm one. It made me fairly controlling and a "fixer". It is really hard for me to hear a problem and not want to jump in and try to find a solution even if I wasn't asked for one or even if there isn't one. Those characteristics probably mostly benefitted me in my work, but not always in my personal life.
We are going to be in the mid-60's today so a bit warmer than NOLA. I looked at a map and NOLA is about the same latitude as Jacksonville so I guess your weather is similar to my daughters.
Too bad you have to wait longer for the eye surgery, but better safe than sorry. Good thing you went to NOLA instead of waiting though!
Today is the plumber finishing, getting new tires (if there is time) and going to Venice to visit a friend (someone else is driving so if I don't get my tires it won't be a big deal).
Have a thoughtful Thursday!
