Yes! NOLA and Key West are on my list. I was in NOLA once on business briefly and always wanted to go back. I've never been to Key West, but am hoping to include that on a cruise at some point (maybe next year?).

Home from the shows in Indio (Palm Springs). Had a good time for the most part. Ace did very well. I am proud of how well he showed. I am also pleased that he was recognized in such heavy competition on Thursday night. He was awarded a Terrier Group 2 in the owner handled group (no pros, but some hard core owners, like me) in a very large and competitive group of 21 best of breed terriers.

I enjoyed the trailer experience in so many ways. An interesting note is that my "less than" brain kicked in when the huge mega rigs (Class A RVs) and some HUGE 5th wheels pulled in around us. I found myself wishing I had "more" of a trailer. I really dislike that aspect of my personality.

Our first trip was a learning trip for sure. We used way too much water Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. We were running quite low by Friday night. ACK! Luckily, we did not run out. We also did make a run to the supermarket for gallon jugs of water for the dogs and for us.

Having a fridge and my own food was HUGE. I had no dog show food the entire weekend. NONE. Didn't miss it. Didn't want it. We did eat out for dinner, which I expected. Ron had ideas of cooking in the trailer, but those plans went by the wayside. His own food issues got the better of him while were were Glamping. Part of travel for him is the Eating Experience. He craves a dining experience. He wants to live out the Kodak moment he has playing in his head. In that regard we were at odds. Sadly, he became embittered when he was not able to fulfill his eating wishes on Saturday and he chose to let a dark cloud of discontent control his mood. I chose not to buy into his mood, which didn't suit him too much either.

I did not feel deprived of food and ate pretty much as I pleased the 5 days we were away, but most of it was food I brought with me that had nutritional value and provided real fuel for my body. (Though I ain't gonna lie... I had some sugar cravings going on there a bit...) Very rare for me to come home from a dog show ending with a 10+ hour drive showing a drop on the scale.

Weight 253

I have not gone back and read everything from the past 5 days, but hope to do some of that tonight.

Best to everyone!

Ace is already quite the show dog! Congratulations!

I don't think think there are many of us who don't suffer from a "less than" brain at times. Houses, cars, campers, ... For most of us there are a lot of people whose possessions make me feel like I need "more". Heck, when someone tells me about their wonderful retired life with their spouse and their beautiful, accomplished grandchildren, my brain screams it.

I have enjoyed the Airestream, Airedales and Airedudes!

DH made a comment long ago about his grief that we weren't a Pepsi-family. It provided an unusually clear view of his unrealistic expectations. In many ways, that was the beginning of me realizing that I could never meet the Pepsi challenge. That was a good thing to realize.

I'm glad that you were able to walk the path that you needed.
