Good luck to you both! I hope that stabilizes things a bit. Lord knows, you both deserve a more even keel.

I was so bummed about the scale not moving that I way overate yesterday. How's that for logic? Food addict's logic, I guess.
I moved my trainer to this morning from this afternoon as I have my hematologist appointment later. Afterwards, I was a sweaty mess and it was all I could do not to swing into the McDonalds drive-thru for an Egg McMuffin. I fought the impulse and carried on. Then had to pass the Dunkin Donuts and again had to fight not to turn into that drive-thru. Food, the crappier the better, is my default reward for accomplishing a task. And the more I dislike the task, the more I want a reward. So destructive! And after giving in like I did yesterday, it takes a concerted effort to build back up my defenses. Today they are low, but I'm winning so far.
Non-food topic... Has anyone else been watching Dirty John on Bravo? So good! And so scary. But it should be required watching for any woman internet dating. (Not that I'm doing that, but this isn't making me want to!) It is kind of fun that it takes place where I live so all the area references are very familiar.
Happy Monday everybody!
Long since been my logic :( That's how I got to 277lbs. By the bizarre belief that one cookie meant I might as well eat with abandon. In all honesty, I didn't even want half the food I ate, and certainly didn't need it. That's why I am so so stickler on not going down that rabbit hole. No cake or cookie has the power to undo you.
(that being said, if that one cake or cookie can make you feel worse/doubt yourself and send you spiraling, then it does. Does that make sense?)
Good for you resisting! I've done the WTF eating in response to scale numbers unfortunately too. For the rewards, what if you take a somewhat "safe" treat with you and have it on the way home?

Good Morning - Big sleep last night (much needed) and only just moving around with my first cup of tea. Worked then went and collected 3 huge bags of sawdust for the bottom of the chook house - guy was giving them away free but I took him a jar of our tomato relish in appreciation. Then had a few errands and home to do the poisioning of the weeds as DS had mowed the lawn during the day.Made a delicious Lamb Roast. I will either leave for the farm after an early dinner or get up and leave at 4am tommorrow - undecided.
Vet appointment for my Bella girl was as expected. Good news the cancer hasnt spread to her lymph glands and is a low grade mast cell tumour. They are confident that removal with a big margin will give her the best outcome so after much discussion we have decided to proceed. They will leave Lymph Glands so they can see if anything changes as it generally spreads from lymph to spleen. She will go in first thing and stay with them till the last appointment so they can watch n care for her. She comes out of the GA badly so extra fluids etc. She is booked in for 18/1 so I will bring her down from the farm the night before and stay down here with her till we get the drains etc out at around day 5. My poor little pup :( She was my first rescue and has had a hard start in life. The owners left the whole litter in a chicken coop to starve when they moved out - WHO DOES THAT ! Seriously. Least she has had a beautiful and happy life with us and is very loved.
Today is work and packing to head back to the farm. I have Gyn appointment finally this afternoon to see what they are going to do with me. Crossing fingers she can assist with issues. The joys of being a woman and delivering 2 hefty healthy boys 16 months apart. No regrets - but think its time to evict a bad tenant now as no longer needed.
Anyway I best get my butt into gear
Have a wonderful evening :)
Shirley
Greetings NOLA Fans
154.5 today. Phoey. Could be worse I guess.
Ann we are all drooling over the NOLA stories. Makes me want to schedule a trip there. I was last there for a law conference at least 20 years ago. Also thinking of Key West again.
New Shower Ocean D!! Yay, looking forward to the pictures. I would like a step in as well. There are lots of things I would like to do on this house of ours like that but then I think maybe we should just get a new house. Like watching "Love it or List It".
The turkey soup sounds good. Last night I made a meatloaf that was pretty decent. I used rolled oats instead of breadcrumbs figuring it has a little protein plus onions and parsley.. But DH felt really sick last night. At first I thought he had overeaten but not sure now if that was it. He has a history of kidney stones and I am wondering if that's what's up. I made him call the doctor.
Cecily thanks for the tv show referral. We are now watching Ozark which is creepy but compelling. Very much like Breaking Bad. Not sure why I find it interesting when I can't stand Vikings. Good on you for hiking. We don't have Dunkin Donuts here but there is the highly acclaimed Donut Mill which is fortunately fairly far away.
Liz an exercise bike sounds like a great thing for DH. Ditto fountain. And yeah, our dogs have to sleep touching us. When I sleep late I usually have a dog on each side pinning me in.
Dog Chip is in having his teeth cleaned today so I need to get some rice to feed him later. Plus he will get meatloaf. A friend is coming over for the football game at 4. We don't care who wins. I will make chicken barley soup.
Its cool and overcast but not raining at the moment. Typical winter day here in pac NW. I got quite a bit of business stuff done yesterday for the galleries including our state filing and part of a financial and insurance analysis. More to do but its a start. Also have to redo the gallery by laws which in no way match how we currently operate. Kind of busy work but needs to be done.
