Weight 121.6, calories 1048. 200 of them were raspberry danish. But it is gone! I have been systematically feeding DH desserts which call to me before I eat them, but that one hadn't been consumed yet. I don't recall if I had mentioned but when we first got to Florida, DH was up by about 10 pounds which was very unusual for him. He previously only varied by 5 for the most part since in his mid-thirties. So he started refusing desserts and went the other direction. He is about 5 pounds lighter than usual. So I have been trying to make him larger healthy meals, but also giving him desserts again. Once it returns to normal (we don't have the backlog of sweets given by others), I'll buy him desserts I don't care about. But darn it is tough right now.
Today we are meeting a couple of friends from our Alzheimer's support group here for coffee. The wife and I are about the same age and seem to have a lot in common, and our husbands like each other as well. Sometimes we can use the fact that the other husband is going to be at something to get our own motivated to go. Bev's husband is at about the same point as mine. He was a brilliant successful man and now can't communicate well. Unfortunately he also suffers from terrible anxiety asking constantly about what he should be doing, where are they going, etc. As in every few minutes he is asking... That would drive me nuts, which I need to remember when my DH is acting like a zombie and not talking at all.
That's about it at this point. I think I'm going to get some more coffee. Have a safe Saturday!

Peps, I love to stragically freeze things like chicken tenders, unbaked meatloaf in aluminum pan, Canadian bacon, black bean burgers and frozen berries. Packets of tuna, protein bars, peanut butter, Sargento Balanced breaks, and a carton of liquid eggs/whites are additional staples I stock. I also have a George Forman grill I use outside for a quick meal and clean up (much less mess than gas grill). I can't wait to hear about your adventures !!
The transition from a bag to adult diapers has been smooth. I double washed four loads of laundry and am grateful to have that small out, except for DC's favorite battered sweatpants. I want to throw them out, but he refuses. My arm is responding to the double antibiotics and compression.
Positive energy to all, whether working through new feelz, new toys, new behaviors, or new challenges !!

Good morning! Today's adventures include car shopping by myself (dh is at work). It's so past time that we replace both our cars, but we have been enjoying the many years of no car payments. We buy lease returns and then drive them into the ground, so in my married life of 31 years I have participated in the purchase of 4 cars total, between 2 drivers. Since the advent of fixed pricing, it's a little less stressful, but I still hate the song and dance at some dealerships.
Yes, I always hated the stress of buying a car too, but the last two I bought were completely no-pressure which made it so much easier.

Got so much accomplished yesterday and am chipper this morning. Eye continues to look better. Other good things that are helping: Sunshine, veggies, yoga, walking, hair cut/color, hugs, sleep, coffee. And because those could be a reliable recipe for a peaceful life, why don't we tattoo those words on our arms instead "Sesame Chicken" written in Chinese? ;)
Today will include more selfcare, improving packing lists, and filling laundry baskets.
Not much else to report. So I'll send out hugs out to everyone -- y'all who are still enjoying time spent with your favorite people in the world and y'all who must deal today with things you wish weren't on your plates. Or as DianeO said much better: "Positive energy to all, whether working through new feelz, new toys, new behaviors, or new challenges!"
BTW, one of my sisters suggested that until my second cataract surgery is done I should use as my avatar the ;) emoji, because it has the left eye open and the right eye shut.
Today's theme: ;)
