There is a high chance that Ron will request healthy foods, but then will be grumpy because when he get**** with hunger or wanting to nosh "there is nothing to eat". I can have a house full of healthy foods, but unless it's grab and go he will say there is nothing to eat.

I have started to make him toast with PB and jam for breakfast just so he will eat something at the start of his day. Otherwise, he waits for lunch and with a body that needs to heal, that's just not a good thing, IMO.

Greetings Christmas Survivors

153.5 today. I ate a piece of the homemade cranberry nut bread we were given. Its extremely good but why do people give us sweets when they know we are weight loss surgery patients? Our diabetic hostess was given a whole homemade chocolate cake at Christmas! Geez, if I give food gifts its a restaurant gift certificate or fancy coffee and tea. The sugar bombs indeed are deadly.

OceanDiane so sorry your burn needs more treatment and that DC had the catheter issue. Like someone said you need extra arms, not fewer. Hope DC's situation improves and you can heal up. As the saying goes - when it rains it pours.

Ann, do all the emoting you want to here. This is the place. Your resiliency and courage over the past year has been amazing and you are certainly entitled to some good old anger after what you have experienced. Dang eye issues but no way around it except through it. Hope you have a peaceful day and find more laundry baskets.

Breast cancer cloud hangs over us all. Men can get it too. The rates here in our county are rather high. Probably some environmental stuff. The highest in the nation is Marin county where my hand surgeon is. He is also a plastic surgeon and does lots of reconstruction. He thinks part of the reason its high there is the demographics - lots of old ladies in Marin county. Here in Humboldt there is a very active Breast Health Project that provides a great deal of information and support. Our gallery is partnered with it and they pour wine for donations at our events.

Studio time yesterday and gallery time tomorrow. Many of our gallery members have had the nasty cold I had (I stayed away to not spread it but its everywhere) so now one of our members has become fixated on sanitizing the computer keyboard. Not sure how much good that does but I will go along with it.

We have another sunny crisp day here. Studio chores and endless paper pushing on tap. Have a good day all. Diane S

I didn't weigh again because I ate half my body weight in Walker's shortbread cookies.

On the upside I hiked with my friend (was have a new pact to hike together each Friday) which was 5.5 miles and the equivalent of climbing 59 flights of stairs. Yay us! But then I ate 3 or 4 times what I burned in butter cookies. Hmmm.

Ann, I can feel your frustration and anger in your posts and wish there was something I could do to help you. Is there anything harder than having "time" be the only answer to getting through life's trials? Especially when you're a take the bull by the horns and wrestle your problems into submission kind of person. There's no feeling of taking control or action when time is what's required. Sigh.

Have we heard from Shirley lately?

Take care all!

I tried to eat all the shortbread when I was in Scotland. Truly...every piece I could find.
