My favorite ornaments were crocheted by my Gramma. The snowflake is one of them. I also have bells, angels, stockings...

She also crocheted the Lord's Prayer and we have hanging in our bed room.

Wow! That is a serious bit of crocheting your grandmother did. What a beautiful family heirloom. :)

I had no idea that crocheting could produce something like your Lord's Prayer. The snowflake is beautiful, too. Much love went into all of those.

Do you have a similar talent? (Even tho crafty genes run strong in both side's of my family, somehow I didn't inherit.)

I used to crochet baby blankets. I'd like to learn again. I'm not really a crafty kinda person...

Speaking of prairie dogs...we have a village at the Wichita Mountain Wild Life Refuge in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Greetings Happy Ones

152.5 today. Yay down a half on the cold pill diet. This cold has really been a doozy and now DH has it. Chicken soup on the way

Yeah I am kind of like Ann on Christmas. No kids or grandkids. It was more fun when niece and nephew were little but niece is now 36. And the little ones are far away. Actually I get to do Christmas as I always dreamed - at someone else's house with a dozen or so lovely adult friends and fairly modest preparation on my part. Like a drive through Christmas.

BB sorry Becca is sick. No fun to see her uncomfortable. I have no doubt you will reach the right balance between work and child care. Seems like all women who have successful careers and children do so with the help of another woman. In my own case, my grandmother lived nearby and was around when my mother was not plus started dinner and did housework. I know others who had a live in college student who did similar things. Others had paid helpers. Seems like there is no one right or wrong thing.

Interesting Shel about your Mommy wars experiences. Our law firm used to go on retreats and the spouses came along. I was single and often ended up hanging around with the wives since I did not want to play golf. Some were snooty to me at first but most were pretty fun. Interesting to learn how different their world's were. Some were into the volunteer opera/church thing. Most were busy with kids - some big Catholic families. Only one had an actual career.

I so love seeing the favorite ornaments of all. Shel love the tree skirt. Somewhere around here I may have a few ornaments but not used since we have our little fiber optic tree.

Yep I had forgotten about solstice moon but mother nature reminded me with a lavender evening sky and a pale yet intense yellow moon. Talk about artistry. I have never seen a lavender sky like that.

Peps, still thinking of you and your losses. May the rest of your family fill your heart.

Liz sorry DH got lost. I gotta admit I once did that myself walking after dark in one of those winding no -straight - street subdivisions.

Somewhere I heard there was a study that baking was therapeutic. Well duh, who had to do a study to know that?! Thats why clay is also therapeutic - similar to cooking. And potters are all good cooks. Right Bonnie 150?

Nothing on the calendar today but I must make pate and work through my checklist of year end business stuff to do. I have the Christmas eve gallery shift which will be filled with desperate men seeking gifts for wives. We used to have a jeweler who did fabulous one-of -a kind silver work and that was a big seller. I am predicting the hand woven scarves do well this year.

Well more later maybe. Time to look for some breakfast. Diane S

LOL ... desperate men seeking gifts for wives. I saw a lot of that in our little town yesterday (the last Saturday before Christmas). Bless their hearts. For most of them, gift-giving is just not one of their "love languages."
