I'm sorry Devon, it does seem like tragedy often hits during this time of year. I know you would have wanted Tyler to have somebody with him at the end. I have always held my dogs at that time so they can go feeling loved. It sounds like your uncle went peacefully and was ready so lucky for him in many ways.

My most treasured Christmas decoration. My Grandma Myrtle made a Christmas tree skirt for every one of the cousins, and there were a lot of us.
It is 50-60 years old (From what I am told, she made them when we were babies or very young, if not before). It wears its age better than me.
Mine has been lost a couple of times which sickened me. Then it would show up the next year or two, in spots that we swore we thoroughly searched. It now has a narrow linen drawer, almost to itself. It is royalty.

Thank you for your kind wishes, everyone! I am truly okay. My uncle's death will be a great release for my dad. Taking care of his brother's finances and ensuring his well being was beginning to take a toll on my pop. My uncle was in the final stages of dementia and had virtually no contact with the world around him. His quality of life was very much lacking. My dad went to visit with his brother several times each week even though they no longer spoke and my dad wasn't sure if my uncle really knew he was there. But my dad kept going because one day while my uncle was struggling to hang on to his speech he was able to get out 4 words: "I like you visit." My uncle was a solitary fellow - a life long bachelor, so the expression of his enjoyment of my dad's company meant a lot.
We will toast my uncle at Christmas. I am glad he is free of the body that no longer served him.
Thanks again, friends for being there.
