Tree up and decorated. Garland hung, fluffed, lit and bedazzled. Nutcrackers dispersed throughout the house and standing guard. Iron Nativity on the mantle. Only thing left to put out is the waxen snowy village. I offer proof of the tree below. It is amazing what 3 gay men with backgrounds in theater, set design and retail can accomplish in in 3 short hours!

Oh, also included is my favorite childhood ornament. Funny little Five and Dime purchase, but I LOVE him. Tattered and torn, he is one of my most cherished Christmas treasures.

Will most likely check in later "today" once I got to bed, have a good night's sleep and have something more to say beyond my decorating accomplishments.

All y'all's Christmas trees and holiday decorations are gorgeous! I love looking at them. However, I don't have a tree this year and won't. This is not even close to a disaster, since I haven't put one up in eight years. That's when DH and I announced to each other that we were done with Christmas brouhaha and started cruising over the holidays.

BTW, I googled "FA" and think it stands for "Food Addiction Anonymous." I'm glad it helps some people, but, yeah, that wouldn't be my thing either.

I'm getting in motion again. Went to town yesterday for groceries and mail. I'm walking more. Yesterday afternoon I had a great conversation with my husband's daughter and laughed really hard. If Big Pharma could patent and bottle belly laughter it would be a block-buster drug.

My infected eyelid continues to look better, but is not yet perfect. Yesterday, I could no longer stand looking at what weeks of no skin care does to my face. Last night, while completely avoiding my right eye, I applied serum and moisturizer, and this morning my face looks much better.

Today I will do some easy yoga at home, sort through a week's worth of mail, pay bills, go to town on errands (mainly to look at other human beings), and do more laundry.

Today's musical selection is "Over the Rainbow" by legendary Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole: https://music.amazon.com/albums/B002XTP4WU?tab=CATALOG&ref=d m_wcp_albm_link_trsnpt

Today's theme (I'll retire this soon, but not yet): I am worth saving. I will save myself.

Over the Rainbow is a tough song for me as the hospice music therapist was playing it on a harp when my daughter passed away. Beautiful death really as a friend of mine described it, but I always feel overwhelmed when I hear the song.

Liz, boy, do I understand that! Iz's beautiful rendition of that song was one of my husband's favorites. I have always imagined I will play that song when I scatter his ashes.

Out and about--she walks among the energized and refreshed living! Whoot and Hooey- you! Smiles abound. Enjoy the positive mental energy that springs forth the physical activity.

Yup! Crawling into a hole / retreating to the cave / everybody leave me the **** alone / agoraphobia, etc. is a go-to response when I feel badly wounded. It's not necessarily the worst tactic -- as long as it doesn't go on too long.

As I told my therapist last Monday, harking back to how my parents' generation dealt with their wounds: "But at some point you just have to sober up and show up at the office."

Over the Rainbow is also my favorite song. For me there will never be a better version than Garland's version recorded in October 1938 at MGM.

Absolutely beautiful tree! Can you come to my house? DH as been putting ornaments on in fits and starts. He stops then has to be reminded there are more. I may fini**** at some point, but I'm hoping he can get the last box up.

Weight ?, calories 735. The scar removal took a lot more out of me than I expected, so there was no way I was taking my PJ shirt off and weighing this morning. My surgeon said the reason the scars behind my ears were so raised was probably due to sensitivity to the absorbable sutures. This time they used the fine removeable ones as were originally used in front of my ears where I had no visible scarring at all. I am only allowed Tylenol for the first 24 hours which helped but not a lot. My ears are all swollen and I had to sleep with my head still and raised last night so I am tired. I expect to stay in my PJs all day and maybe do a few decorations later when I can get ibuprofen on board, but maybe not. I can't take a shower until tomorrow afternoon, so I'm not going anywhere. Hopefully DS can take Justice out for his morning walk before he leaves for work.

So quiet time here today... Have a strong Saturday!

Medical fact--PJs are Medicinal! Medicate away all day if necessary, and treat those ears gently.

Just looking at these jammies makes me feel good.
