What a shame DH has to go through surgery again. It did seem like something was off from the very beginning though didn't it?

Good Morning All - Sorry I didnt make it here yesterday - last day at work and that coupled with a yet another late night entertaining - saw me retreat from everything for the afternoon. I practiced a huge amount of self care in the form of getting a pedicure with shiny sparkly toes for the xmas break, then a deep tissue neck and shoulder massage as I was very tense. Still feeling the effect of it but I know it will feel much better in a day or so. Then I came home and slept for 2 hours till DH came home. Super rare for me but much needed. We ate a simple dinner and sa****ching Netflixs for the evening. I think I just needed as I term it some blob time.

Ann - Welcome back xxx Sorry about falling into that hole which we all know or have known at times. Proud of you for coming back here and letting us buffer around the edges so we can help you out.

Diane - I love that anology - really hit home for me - thank you for sharing

Liz- Hope the appointments go well and well done on getting the tree up. Love the picture of Lavender - she looks very comfy there

Bonnie - Yay hes home :) Enjoy special family time

Diane - Sorry to hear about DH and more surgery - uggg. Hope you continue to heal and are well by the time Christmas rolls by

Cec - your puppies sound as spoilt as ours

Today is pack up day - need to get everything packed and organised as we leave tommorrow for the farm after breakfast. Have my sons, his gf and my mum for tea as its our family dinner ( we will do gifts tonight with them) - Being selfish and we are getting takeaway thai. I would normally cook all day but with going away tommorrow - I decided to not do it and that way can just enjoy their company. Everyone is staying overnight so they will all be here to wake up with me on my birthday. Very special indeed

They really are. More than once our family has been told that people want to be reincarnated as our spoiled dogs!

Well, it seems I am in a hole myself. WTF? However, upon analysis it seems that I am currently in holes, 2 and 3 at the same time! Is that even possible?

Last day of school was today. We had a short day, but I stayed a full day to get things done before leaving. It was nice to have everything planned, ready and sitting out for Monday, January 7, 2019 when I left. Homework assignments are already in the kids' cubbies along with spelling and an optional Six Flags amusement park reading incentive program (Each child must read and log a 6 hours hours and Six Flags will give each kid a free admission to any park - good deal for all-especially Six Flags. They know how to make money!)

My trainer is off until after Christmas. I'm going to take a nap instead of working out. Have to get my energy up to get the tree decorated. BFF is coming over tonight to help. He emailed me early this morning suggesting we have a tree decorating party tonight. I quipped back via email, "How do you know I haven't put up the tree already?" Then, of course, I confessed to having done diddly squat and that my house was dirty and smelled of wet dog.

Ran across an old high school friend on FB some months ago. He was actually the boyfriend of my bestie, Sarah, in HS. Chatting via text last night he offered that he attends FA meetings and has abstained from flour and sugar for 7 years. Turns out he got quite heavy during his 30s and 40s and tipped the scales at over 300 pounds. I'm sure he's lost about 130-150 pounds looking at his photos. Pretty impressive. Some negative feelings came up afterwards. No surprise there...

A dog that I spent a good number of years showing first to his championship and then later his grand championship died today. He was only just 10. Though he didn't live with me, we had a relationship and he was such a good boy and loved to show. Makes me sad. I feel really sorry for his human mom!!!! Booooo!

Off to sleepy time!

Devon.. FA...Families Annonymous ? I did OA for several years VSG and can feel my soul clench at the thought of all or nothing total abstinence. My former black/white, success/failure thinking was reinforced in OA. I took many good things with me such as getting strength from a higher power and making peace and moving on but overall, too rigid for an addiction (food) one has to ingest multiple times a day.

Sounds like several holes were scaled before you went to bed ! ?

Weight 179.2

Considering I went to a Christmas party last night, I'm feeling pretty good about the scale being the same today. It was a potluck and I made roasted veggies. Do you all know how bad a roasted veggie medley containing brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cauliflower (among other root veggies) smells in a car? Even when I got in to leave I had to roll the windows down and shiver. Stink! But they tasted delicious (how is that possible?)

Today I got nothing else accomplished for Christmas, but did get a challenging hike in. Tomorrow I got bamboozled into driving my friend's family to the airport. Thankfully while early, it's not dawn-early and it's not LAX but the airport 15 minutes from my house.

Off to make a list of things I need to do prior to Christmas...
