Greetings Cookie Monsters

153 today. Cold is still raging which is a nice aid to weight control though I don't recommend it. I am living on chicken broth, tomato soup, and ice water with tart cherry juice. (plus a blob of peanut butter). Its pouring rain again. We have a vet appointment with Chip this afternoon and I hope it lets up. It would have been Scrabble day by the fire but I declined as I don't want to spread this cold. I am the youngest person in the group!

I managed to get out of the house to check gallery rents and mail and deposit funds. Got some dumb notice from the Cal Secretary of State for some penalty for not filing some junk so I have to check up on that.

Love the golf cart parade Liz. Here we have a truckers parade that's quite impressive but I don't want to go stand in the cold at night. Wimp.

Hey Shel, I was reading again about the parrot that ordered stuff from Alexis. Turns out it was kicked out of a bird sanctuary for swearing. Then I had a thought - what if your parrot got Alexis to order another pair of pimple boots! Tee Hee

Love the image of us all being safe and warm in our little homes for the holidays with family and fun people around. We all need more coziness and less franticness. If I am lucky I will not set foot in the mall until the new year.

DianeO, I understand how DC might want to retreat from activity. You are resourceful so you will find a way to get him moving around the house. Any end in sight for that bag?

Bonnie 150 glad your healing is moving along. Hope your son arrives soon.

The waves are so big here that they have closed the harbor to traffic. There used to be more shipping here of lumber but now I think its mostly fishing boats. And still no crab season.

off for coffee. more later diane s

Good of you to keep your germs to yourself! I just read an article that referenced a test researchers did with a tracer and playing cards. They put a marked tracer in the nasal passages of 4 players who then played bridge. By the end of the game every card had copious nasal secretions on it. No doubt Scrabble tiles would be the same! Ew.

EW indeed. I once played bridge with a friend who brought gloves and thought that would take care of cold germs. Duh, gloves can carry germs too. ds

Good Morning All - yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn hump day finally. Took my Bella girl to the vet yesterday after work and they are running pathology on her lump as its suspect - we have a 5 day wait before we know which will be right on Christmas Eve. Trying to remain positive. Work Christmas dinner last night - it was delicious. Got home after 10.30 and then had to pack DH's Ute - Up at 4am with him as he back working near our farm for next few days. I curled back in bed for a few more hours but feel super tired this AM.

Today is work (hectic) then calling to have a cuppa with my friends Autistic Son and drop him off a treat package. He sees no-one at Christmas so I like to fill a huge bag with all his favourite things that he wont allow himself to buy. Then having dinner at my best friends house. Tis the season .... Then will be preping for everyone coming for dinner Thu night.

Liz- Pictures are gorgeous and love the puppies stockings - they are spoilt and so loved

Bonnie - I love visualising a little village with all of us in it :)

Diane - feel better soon

Ocean - Hope DH starts feeling much better soon and gets moving n grooving x

Well second load of washing is done and calling to be hung out. I had better go tend to that

Take care all

Shirley

Weight 178.4

The weather has been beautiful here. The last of the roses are blooming:

Wish we had Smellavision!

I had a really good workout with the trainer yesterday. I can lift heavier, do more push-ups and longer planks, and just overall have improved. I left there a sweaty mess, but proud of myself. I stll dread going, but at least the during and the after are improving.

Anyway, nothing new to report... Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their cookies in blessed moderation!

Hi all,

I've been reading each day, but haven't felt compelled to post. Not sure why... perhaps same old, same old... or perhaps (and more likely) because I have not been eating as well as I would like to be eating, though admittedly I don't have the motivation to change that too much at the moment.

Which reminds me...

I let my surgiversary come and go without as much as a Hello or Boo to You. I did acknowledge it silently in my head late that night (or as it the next - not sure). There is something about letting that anniversary pass with a blind eye that is bothersome to me. I have felt disconnected from my VSG for some time, I suppose. I have a larger sleeve to begin with and frankly, I can eat like a normal petite woman. Sometimes I can eat close to what seems like a regular portion, though I know it probably isn't. Let's just say that the days of 3 ounces of meat filling me up are long gone. Mostly, I think I struggle understanding my dysfunction with food and my historical inability to maintain an eating program that keeps my weight in a healthy and comfortable zone.

Same old song... no need to belabor it.

I have yet to get motivated for Christmas, which means that I will have a marathon over the weekend to get **** done. I don't really want to decorate or put up a tree, but I don't have much choice, so it will get done.

My last rose is blooming, too, Cecily! Yours is prettier, though. Mine is a yellow with a blush of deep pink near the edge of the petals.

I just started putting stuff on my tree tonight because I've been so unmotivated, but it needs to be done for Christmas as people are coming here. Nothing is wrapped and I need to buy stocking stuffers for my dad and his wife.

My roses aren't usually that big this late, but I got lucky with this one!

I have the whole family coming on Christmas Eve.

I think you and I would give BB apoplexy with our procrastination! LOL!!!!
