Weight ? (DH in room with scale and coffee/clothes on board by the time he was out). Calories ???? again.

I did not start housecleaning yesterday. I went to the pool for an hour until DH got up, then we went to the beach for the afternoon. We had dinner at a restaurant we like across from the beach where they have just completed a wonderful remodel. We sat on the patio outside with a local musician played oldies. It was the perfect Florida day weather wise and we had a wonderful day/evening. So I did eat the coconut pie... I don't think there will be many more good days like this with DH unless he has a wonderful reaction to the new medication. Pictures from the restaurant and next to the beach below.

The template for my granite countertops is being done today, so I will be sticking around. Maybe that cleaning will happen today???

Have a marvelous Monday!

Weight: 169.6. Ticking up slowly but surely.

Very busy weekend, yet again. But fun!

MENTION OF FOOD AHEAD.

Friday I was in CLE and wrapped as I listened. New (to us) hottub got delivered! We have two main vehicles and one "extra." The "extra" has nearly always had tire issues, but since it's a two-seater fun car, it's never been a big worry. DH's main car picked up a nail a week or two ago but has only been losing air slowly, so with the busyness and starting new job, etc., we've just been airing it up. Well, you know you haven't been living right when you go out and ALL of your cars now have flat tires. Yep. Went to pick up Becca Friday night and my tired was completely flat. So tire maintenance got moved to the top of the list Saturday. I have a new tired, and DH has a fixed tire. Fun car will have to keep on waiting. But sheesh.

Friday night we had friends over and they picked up takeout Chinese food as go-along with A Christmas Story watching. They had never seen it! I typically love Chinese but it's never been nice to me post-vsg and that night was no different :( Chocolate ovaltine brownies (if you've seen the movie, you'll know this was also part of the theme) were a fail. Good news was: fewer calories!

Saturday we did the car thing, and then hit the mall early to (mostly) finish out Christmas shopping. It was a success and Becca did so good! We even were able to have a nice brunch afterwards where she learned she liked eggs! Our doggies have been neglected on the grooming front and so the plan was I would put Becca down for her nap and Rich would take in the dogs to be groomed. You may recall last time Marley had a seizure when going to grooming. Her vet did mention anxiety, but thought it was possibly just a random blood sugar issue. No :( Apparently we cannot take her to get groomed. I feel so bad for even risking it! But she REALLY needed it. And now she needs it even more. She lost complete control and soiled herself. I feel like such a bad dog mom for even attempting it! And now I'm not sure what to do next. Just not groom her at all? Let DH give her baths (and she's a very high-anxiety, anti-social dog, and doesn't like water...so even that is not good for her)? Try a mobile groomer so we don't have to take her out? I have a recommendation for one. Have the vet groom her? Except a friend of mine who is a vet tech mentioned then she might start to have anxiety about going to the vet and that would be bad (and I'm sure she already does but at least we can get her there without seizures!). WWYD?

Saturday night we had one of our favorite couples over to the house for dinner and watching Christmas Vacation. They had never seen the house before, so of course I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get it spic and span. For dinner I finally got to indulge my cooking desire and made rack of pork with burnt caramel orange sauce, butternut squash gratin, and green beans with caramelized pecans. It was deeeeelish, the house looked great, the company and conversation were delightful, and everyone cracked up watching the movie. Win win. But very tired.

Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest. Church, then grorcery run. Perhaps if Becca had gone down for her nap, we might have done better. But she didn't and that messed up all the plans. We took her out to see Santa, and came home to a roast dinner and then I stayed with Becca so DH and stepkids could have some time together (they went to a movie).

Whew. Happy to be at work where I can rest, lol\

The good news is: I've checked a lot of things off my to-do list like: Becca Christmas photos, Christmas shopping almost all done, present wrapping in decent shape, cars now usable, etc.! And, though I had to remind my tired-self, we had a lot of good time and memories along the way. But it does remind me of the church service yesterday which was something to the tune of: don't get too busy that you don't see the blessings. The message was about Christmas, but I think it goes beyond that. For all of us, I hope that we will be able to see the blessings in our lives--now at Christmas, and throughout the entire year.

I am always amazed at the fullness of your days-but (with the exception of the tire fiasco -what are the chances of that?) it all sounds like good company, yummy food, and beautiful memories. Enjoy.

Mornings go by so quickly- and look, it's already afternoon.

Quick drive by with not much news or anything special other than enjoying my days - and the season, and DH. Butter cookie dough in the fridge firming up. Will cut and bake today, then decorate tomorrow. I usually use Christmas cutters and elaborate decorations, but am keeping it simple with just rounds, icing and some sprinkles.

So hope the sun is shining on all- if not on the outside may there then be a true warming glow going on the inside.

Smiles your way today,

Greetings Partiers

Well Mr. cold still has a grip on me but nothing I haven't survived before. To think I used to go to work and school like this. Unthinkable now. I consulted Dr. Google and have concluded I might have a nasal polyp. Yeah, thats what you do when you feel crappy - look on the internet for diseases. But at least its not raining and I will be able to get out of the house briefly. I am up to 154 so one of the snot pounds sneaked back on,

Yay, sounds like everyone's Christmas is in full swing. We are so low key here we barely have a pulse. Christmas was always a kind of hard time for me. Spending time with dysfunctional family when everyone else seems full of joy. I had a nephew who was born on Christmas and so for a long time Christmas was about his birthday which made it fun. Then at age 17 he committed suicide. We had just moved to California and no more family Christmases. But I am looking forward to starting over as I now have a 4 year old grand nephew who is a hoot.

Yeah Cecily, I hear you about feeling a little low at this time of year. Its like all this forced joy and happiness is passing you by. I bet a beach walk would help shake it off. Thinking of you.

Liz glad you had a nice normal dinner with DH. Time to be cherished. Beautiful views

Diane O, you mentioned a "bag" issue and for a minute I though the airlines had lost a bag. Duh.

Stay warm everyone. Eat a few cookies (just a few).

BB, your life is such a whirl I don't know how you do it. But good on you for living to the fullest. We spent last nigh****ching Star Trek short episodes followed up by the Sound of Music. Might be time to watch Home Alone again.

Cheers all you cookie monsters. Diane S

Weight 179.4

After a bunch of unpleasant dreams before the sun came up, I just got up to avoid anymore. Hate when that happens! Normally my dreams are fairly neutral.

This morning I had my endo appointment. She changed up my dosage again as now I'm hyperthyroid after being hypo in October. She wants me to think on the radiation again and maybe plan for later next year after Michigan. At least it's not an urgent requirement.

The funny thing was they measured my height for the first time in decades and I've shrunk a half inch! I went from 6'0.25" to 5'11.75". She thought it would be too soon to have signs of osteoporosis post bariatric surgery so it's probably just "A.G.E." as my aunt would say. Or maybe there is some variability in measuring equipment or the reader of results?

Trainer later today and the Christmas tree is up, but not decorated. lt's a start!

I think there is either variability in the equipment or sometimes we just stand taller (or have our head straighter). I used to vary a bit when measured when younger ranging from 5'3.5" to 5'4" and it went up and down. I don't think I truly lost height until after 50 or 55. Now I measure around 5'3" (sometimes a bit higher or lower).

Good Morning All :)

Little later this am as I have been working then ran out to collect my Mums Christmas present. We got her an Iphone. Have a vets appointment after work. One of my girls has lumps that he had asked me to watch and come back if they grew. Well they have so Im taking her in tonight. Poor old pup -shes had a hard start in life and I think her old age isnt going to be nice for her. She is one of my rescues

Work Christmas party tonight - Indian so that will be nice.

Aw, poor puppy! Fingers crossed they're just old man lumps (as I call Fergus's)...

Good luck with the iPhone training! Teaching my mom electronics/computers was one of the more frustrating parts of our relationship!!
