My grown children also want some traditions to continue (thankfully spitting on windshields has never been part of the plan, what the heck?#!) So I've postponed cookie baking to reduce the length of temptation, but today's the day. I was going to go out to buy ingredients yesterday and bake today, when I had a brilliant revelation, I ordered delivery from Wal-Mart and it arrived at 9am this morning, as I was having my first chai. Oh happy day, I saved hours walking up and down aisles looking for maraschino cherries. Yesterday I only had to shop for a few speciality things. And, I treated myself to new cookie sheets! Feeling pretty fly today.
Nice plan! Have a good baking day (mine will be next weekend).

Greetings Winter Wonders
Well down to 153 today. Nothing like stuffed up head to make you not want to eat. I mostly ate broth yesterday accompanied by wine. The two pounds I dropped was all fluid I am sure - most of which came out through my nose. Its not the flu - just a raging sinus thing.
So I guess I will just stay home today and watch the ****show on cable news. I can do that with my hot compress on my face since there is really nothing to see. Its raining but at some point I must force DH to go get me some more broth and such. The studio holiday party is tonight but I think I will skip it. Stay at home with my germs.
Get a good hike in Shel. And a walk for Justice please. Ditto the big dogs playing in the leaves.
Cookies cookies - I used to be a connosieur of Christmas cookies and still have my recipes. My favorite was the pecan apricot cardamom balls. Exquisite. But my cookie days are over though I did eat a couple of crappy store bought ones the other day. But right now I am so stuffed up that even raw cookie dough does not sound good.
Guess I am sort of a Scrooge because I feel no urge to decorate for Christmas. But we have friends that do so I will just sponge off their Christmas spirit. They are down to only 4 trees now - used to do 8. I can't figure out where they keep all that stuff.
Well time for more coffee and to fiddle with gallery numbers for the year end. Have a peaceful festive day all. Diane S
Good Morning all - back home at our city house having successfully cleaned up and repaired damage at our farm. We had to go a different way as roads still closed. It was heartbreaking to see the damage as we got nearer those areas which where effected worse. Fences pushed over with the sheer volume of debris. So much work for our hard working farm families and especially at Christmas. A reminder of the power of water.
Liz - lovely pictures - Looks like you are having a good time :) Isnt it funny - we are hoping for not too hot on Christmas day ...... Ive never had a white Christmas - its on my bucket list.
Weight is up as I expected. I am a stress eater and have not been good so deserved. 171.6 - which is my danger weight. I will work on getting that down this coming week. No more mindless snacking and I will already be moving lots - have 2-4 apts after work each day.
As I said busy week - I am having my Uncle, Aunt, Cousin and her family over - plus my sons and my mum on Thursday for drinks and nibbles. I felt super guilty as my Uncle hasnt seen me since I had my sleeve done - he should see a difference I think - down 88lbs. One has a severe gluten intolerance. So I have been planning what I can make so she feels included. We bought a tray of delicious fresh mangos yesterday so they will feature. Im thinking Honey Soy Chicken wings, Priscutto wrapped Asparagus, Prawn, avocado & Mango Rice Paper Rolls, Cucumber Rounds with Cream Cheese and smoked salmon, fresh fruit & cheese platter, plus a bowl of prawns. I will do Asian savouries and Prawn Gzoya as an extra for everyone else. It should work out ok and fill everyones bellies :)
Last week of work till I go on leave and I cant wait - though know it will be crazy busy as our clients rush to finalise projects etc.
I hope you are all well and I commit to being here each morning to post this week
Take care all :)
