I love, love, love Pikes Market (and miss going there like I used to every 6 months on business). I was able to buy Beechers Flagship cheese in Portland in October though!

Greetings Peeps Peps and Pets

Well its a dark and stormy day here. Big wind, big ocean waves and heavy rain predicted. Power outages likely since the infrastructure here is so rinky dink. a big tree is already down blocking a main road somewhat east of here. No problem for me but it will be for the people in the little town out there.

Still at 155 in spite of last night's food orgy. The gallery party was fun but boy was there a boat load of food and ALL of it good homemade stuff. I made my cinnamon almonds that were heavily consumed. But there were loads of cheese and all manner of fancy finger food which is my total downfall. There were also lots of sweets but I only ate one tiny cookie. I truly have become an appetizer addict surpassing chocolate addiction. We had good sales and learned a lot from doing this event.

Yep aging is the process of gradually replacing body parts. Replacement teeth, hips, lenses, knees and such. And we all have remodeled stomachs. Lots of stuff can be replaced except for brain and soul. So take care of those.

Hope the eye is cleared up by next week Ann.

Hey Liz, you and Justice indeed look festive. Since its a dark day I think I will turn on our little fiber optic tree. AS shown on the picture, our neighbor has enough decorations for the whole neighborhood so I won't be doing any. Not that I ever did.

No scheduled events so its studio time today with hopefully kilns running for warmth. Pieces can be slow to dry in humid weather but the kiln heat helps.

Gallery duty tomorrow which will be iffy if the rain continues. But it will give me time for banking.

DH just read me a funny item where someone's parrot has learned to tell Alexa to play music and order goods. Truth or Fiction?

Off to find more coffee. Diane S

Sounds like a good party. Glad the gallery is doing well.

I say truth to the parrot talk....we have an African Gray who has picked up many unintended phrases including "DD, do you need to go potty?" and "BUSTER" (and Buster has sometimes dutifully trotted over to answer) as well as a creepy drawn out "Brrrraaaadd" She mimics (mostly) me. Maybe I am the one with the creepy voice.

She can also make dryer sounds which has literally fooled the dryer repairman so that he went down the wrong repair pathway.

Birdy also takes food to the bottom of the cage and flings it at Tink which drives DH crazy. I don't know if she does it to feed Tink or to draw DH into the laundry room for attn.

Birdy is self taught so I can easily imagine someone training a parrot to do more.

I knew someone who had a border collie and a parrot. the parrot learned to say the border collie's name and called the dog. The dog came and proceeded to kill the parrot. ds

I knew someone else whose parrot learned to make the "bing bong" sound of the doorbell. It would do so and then all the dogs would go barking at the door. Tee tee. Parrot also learned to bark like a dog.
