I loved the embroidery! My mom made stockings from my dogs long ago which I still treasure. Made with love, that is all that counts.

Good morning,
You know what I like? I like being in my own echo chamber, particularly when the NYT's agrees with me: Eat the diet you like, and stay with it. I also add, "and adjust when it no longer serves you." But really, this just brings to mind how little we know about obesity/diets from a population standpoint, and even less how it relates to any individual. So, can we all get off our soap boxes? (Apparently I am exempting myself.)
Actually, I think the adjusting is the biggest thing. Why Ostrich when you can Adjust? (What animal represents "adjust?" Why Ostrich when you can Chameleon? Nah, that's a spelling issue for me. Cuddlefish? Do they adjust?)
Shirl, the article has a couple of sentences about Aussies, too! Less sugar for you folks, but still fat. Shoot! (Don't worry, I still think the Americans still win the fat wars.) On a different topic, we need a pic of you standing next to the big behemoth for scale. I, too, am charmed by your footstool with a string attached.
And with that, I am off to the races. With intention.
Let there be peace,
Shel

Hey Shel
Aussie stats show us increasing with the ratio of overweight adults and children for that matter
The schools both primary and secondary have changed a lot of the foods offered at the canteen (tuck shop?) to healthier options and banned a lot of sugary foods - gone are the days you could spend your leftover lunch order money on lollies !
Re the Behemoth - after last night I plan on not driving it for a long long time ( see post) Will try and get a picture if the rain clears long enough today

Hoping, too, that DC's issue is just that- too much activity and overdoing from yesterday. Jeans- mfffifft- men are just as vain as women are to the point of impactable.
Today is another make it up as you go day. Interestingly, DH seems to adopt what ever activity level I do- a doppelganger of sorts.
Tomorrow we are expecting the arrival of DS2. He has taken a job that ships him out to projects all around the country. He broke off (hopefully permanently -JMO) a very long lasting relationship and gave up his apartment and with the traveling position has not gotten another place. I get to keep him for the holidays (YAY!) as the next project won't be until the very first part of Jan. We haven't had this much of his presence for a long time, and I am so looking forward to it. Festive times will abound.
"every moment, every choice is a fresh start" -sounds pretty intentional living in the here and now. So good. Trusting that every choice gives the opportunity for new decisions- directions and does not result in "now set in stone" consequences lets us move forward and grow. Thank you for that, Diane.
Today I will meet each moment as an opportunity to test the path of my new normal.

Weight 178.8 I'm getting dizzy from the scale swings
I have the trainer again today, two days in a row and Pilates today. Argh. I really wish this stuff was spread out!
Tonight I'm going to see A Christmas Carol at South Coast Repertory. They perform it every year. The same actor has been playing Scrooge for 39 years and he's amazing. I remember him from when we would go see it as a kid. I'm hoping it ignites my missing Christmas spirit! I really would be happy if Christmas came every other year.
Aside from that, not much going on here. Have a good day everyone!
