Positive thoughts and energy for all healing, adjusting, deciding, and/or moving forward. The doctor chalked DC's blood in urine and clotting up to too much activity the previous day, and has us watching for any worsening of the above, fever and/or reduction in output. If any of those happen, short of an immediate life threatening situation, we are to travel two hours to the ER where surgery was done. Apparently they don't trust any urologist to assess a post-reconstruction case.

Yes, teeth cleanings, dental work, mammograms ARE self care ! Not as enjoyable as a massage or facial, but nonetheless essential to our longevity and well being. That being said, I have a lymph node under my right arm that has been causing increasing discomfort. I haven't had a mammo since I moved here, so it's time. Such an easy thing to check off the To Do list, but I haven't made it a priority.

I'm not much for New Year Resolutions... too many all or nothing short lived "fresh starts" dieting during my obese days. I'd blow it, consider myself a failure...again... and gain more. I've finally worked myself into a place where every moment, every choice is a fresh start. My intention for the remainder of the year is a reminder to myself to embody that belief, so my intention is to finish 2018 like I want to begin 2019.

Diane, I love your 2018-2019 transition intention. I'm starting an exercise of getting rid of activities/things that didn't serve me well in 2018 as a prelude to planning for 2019. My 2019 plans won't be so much about goals either, but about intentions, process, activities and lifestyle -- in the spirit of "the results I wish for will appear when my energy goes into living intentionally."

I'm up early this morning without coffee (boooo!) due to "nothing by mouth after midnight" instructions for today's cataract surgery. This might be the worst part of the whole experience. I'm certainly hoping for a successful surgery and fast recovery.

Post-Birthday Week weight is dropping rapidly ... 3.4 pounds in two days.

Yesterday morning's yoga class was awesome. And the women's club holiday luncheon was lovely, but really cut into my walking time.

If I had access to coffee, I might be able to construct something more than this bare-bones post.

Wishing for each of you the progress, peace and clarity you need today.

Today's theme: Please, somebody, please give me some coffee!

Good luck getting your other eye done. Your vision will be balanced soon! Functioning in the morning without coffee can be like torture though...

Weight 122.2, calories 939. Like Ann, my weight is slowly dropping after the pizza fiasco. I would much rather it be after a few days of celebrating a birthday.

I also don't do New Years resolutions because I feel if something is important enough it should be dealt with earlier. Interestingly most of my successful diets and my beginning of my WLS journey were started in the fall prior to New Years.

DH was better yesterday: up around noon and more focused. We went to a folk singer concert at our lodge and we both really enjoyed that.

Did I mention that I made chicken soup for the first time in my IP on Monday? It came out great. Yesterday I made shrimp cakes from a recipe posted by Dcgirl on the RNY thread a few days ago. They were fantastic as well.

The neurologist finally called me. It was probably because I left a lengthy message the third time about my concerns about DH going rapidly downhill and my inability to get anyone on the phone to get some help. We spoke at length and he did prescribe the Namenda, but said I shouldn't expect it to make a lot of difference unfortunately. He mentioned that it did seem that DH's Alzheimer's is progressing rapidly as often happens with early onset. He had noticed a big change in him at our appointment in late spring which has only continued. Because we can't get an appointment while we are home for Christmas, we set up a virtual appointment for January 7 at which point DH will have been on the Namenda for 4 weeks. He was glad we have a geriatric psychiatrist now and suggested starting to introduce daycare now before we have to have it so it is familiar. He was also not surprised that the Nuedexta didn't help at all. So that all makes me feel better.

My projects around the house are mostly done for now. But I just got a water bill for more than twice the normal monthly bill so I need to call to figure out what that is about. Unless a faucet was left open that I was unaware of, I can't understand how that could happen. My non-house project is embroidering Christmas stockings for Justice and Lavender. I had knitted all the kids stockings with Rudolf on the front and their names on the top as they arrived and had made smaller stockings for the previous dogs. This time I bought the stockings and am embroidering the names. Justice is done (see below), now I need to do the one for Lavender.

Have a winning Wednesday!

P.S. Please don't laugh at my lack of embroidery skill. I obviously did it freehand, but it was done with love (and with Justice in my lap).
