Greetings Holiday Fans

Still at 154. Homemade chili last night. Tonight's dinner to be determined.

Great lights Liz. I used to take walks at night often in the summer when it wasn't so hot. Now around here its never hot plus its a little creepy to be out after dark on some streets here. Bet Justice loved it.

Hey Shel, everybody needs a blanky on the couch day once in awhile. Yeah don't you wish little elves would come do the dishes and laundry? Great hike pictures. The forrest changes season to season. Hmmm, smelly hat? Bet a wet sheep is worse than a wet dog. I have a jacket made by people in Nepal but it does not smell like goat. Not yet.

Gallery duty today. Plus its also holiday party at the gallery so I have to take some stuff and hopefully it will be extra busy. I am kind of clueless about the plans and hope it doesn't include the terrible music. Also means money and mail collection and other exciting chores.

Well while trundling through the living room I spilled some drops of coffee. Dear little Tesla dutifully followed along and licked up all the spills. Good dog.

Well off to prepare for the days festivities.

Stay warm all of you in the north. And more broth for Bonnie150. Cheers. Diane S

Pretty, pretty lights. Outdoor decorating is not something we do, but I love to see it. When I was young, Christmas Eve Dad would bundle us all into the car to cruise the light-sites--Miracle of miracles- when we returned home--Santa had come, left goodies, and gone.

Broth is magic stuff. So soothing. Also, on a good note, most all of the swelling has gone down. I no longer look like a bowling pin, and can get into real clothes again. Makes a person feel a bit more like a human being.

Absolutely nothing cooking here- Shel, I would gladly enjoy picking up your house and hand washing your dishes just for some excuse to move around some. Too cold for walkies and pacing the house makes me a bit bonkers- not to mention driving DH bat****tttt. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice and looking forward to trecking some.

Looking forward in hopes that in this season of Advent, the world might move more in unison, compassion, equity for all people, and the true peace that comes when people behave with some modicum of integrity.

Let it begin with me.

I'm hoooome!

Birthday Week was incredible. I was over-served in almost every way you could imagine. I was served delicious food, great drinks, lovely theater, witty/smart comedy, parties full of interesting folks, opportunities to shop 'til I dropped (and I did!), one-on-one time with close friends, met some new friends, and reconnected with lots of old work colleagues who were glad to see me and vice versa.

It was truly Birthday Week -- because it wasn't just my birthday, which was celebrated more than sufficiently. But it was also the week of birthdays for DH (who would have turned 80), two sisters, and two friends.

Tonight I hope to sleep 10 hours. Tomorrow, reality sets in with stuff like stepping on the scales (without guilt), unpacking, doing laundry, going through mail, paying bills, and doing Christmas shopping on Amazon for kiddos, etc.

In short, I loved Birthday Week. And I am loving being back in my recliner on my laptop, looking forward to bedtime.

xoxoxo

133.4 sometime this morning...I think after I ate.

Remember my IUD story.....thought I was in menopause only to get in a new relationship and of course have a resurgence of hormones and the start of monthly cycles again which had been absent for some time. IUD didn't agree with me (cramping and constant spotting) and the second hormone test indicated that I was very close to menopause. It was decided that a conception at this point would probably be as likely as Mary's virgin conception so I had the dang thing pulled. Still getting cycles but honestly they are wonky and I am not worried about babies (heck, it took drugs to get DS#3 and that was 16 years ago!!!). Anyway, a funny happened this morning. I was sleeping in my not so sexy Mrs. Claus buffalo plaid fleece and fake Sherpa nightie (Kevin slept over) and danged if I didn't have a monster hot flash early this morning. I whipped off that nightie and layed in the bed without any covers trying to cool off. Kevin just happened to brush my hand with his and noticed that I was unusually hot (I'm always freezing!) Then he noticed that I wasn't clothed and asked where my pajamas went (since I was obviously not trying to be amorous!) I said I was having a hot flash and his comment was "Well, it's about time!!!" Lol! I had another one while drinking my morning coffee. Hope that means the monthly periods will be stopping again! I know you ladies can commiserate with me (sorry David and Peps!)

Busy but nice weekend. Out for sushi on Friday followed by wine at Kevin's. Saturday was shopping (Kohl's and Costco), and Christmas tree putting up at Kevin's, lunch out at Panera (love their Autumn squash soup!!!), Costco crab legs at home for dinner and church services both Saturday night and today (went to a different church on Saturday for a special Christmas program).

Work my usual 3 days this week with kid and Kevin activities sprinkled in. DS#2 turns 19 on Thursday so there will be a dinner out for him and DS#3 has a power lifting competition on Saturday. He had a doctor's appt. last week and is 6' 1"" and weighed in at 251 lbs. The kid is massive.....most of it muscle! DS#1 is doing well. Got rave reviews from his job at his 90 day eval and even got a .50 raise. I'm proud of him!

Love to you all!

When you started the story about the IUD I was holding my breath, half expecting it to end in a pregnancy test. Menopause is so much better, in my opinion. (I know I am lucky in my experience.)

What grade is DS#3? I forget. I'm proud of DS1, too!
