DC continues to steadily improve. I am riding him hard about washing his hands before emptying his bag, and wiping connections down with the alcohol towelettes. We can't afford an infection !
I have a nail appointment this morning... looking forward to my first experience with catseye gel. It gets brushed on, then a magnetic wand is used to pull a contrasting color of magnetized gel to the surface. I have my eye on a Christmas red with holly green. Will post a picture. Both dogs are scheduled for nails and bath tomorrow. Their winter coats are almost in, and I'm hoping to reduce some of the shedding (certainly Fergus is the champion producer !) I have a few odds and ends to pick up before tonight's windy snow. I feel confident managing all of the associated duties with the exception of the generator. I'll make sure the pellet stove is loaded and running. Kathy S. messaged me, and OH wants me to be a Before & After feature story on the OH homepage. I think Liz and several others have done this. 01/02 will mark four years since beginning the VSG process, so putting that together will be a good way to reflect.
On one of the MFP forums this morning, someone made a statement that some people just can't think or operate in moderation. I know that I have experienced an inability to moderate both food and exercise as I have a strong all or nothing drive I have to monitor to use to my advantage rather than my disadvantage. I need to think some more on this whole topic.

Well that's one bright spot for a stomach bug: the weightloss!!
I started feeling shaky and just awful yesterday afternoon. Thank goodness my parents came and took Becca.. I didn't feel like I could. That's almost a scary thought! After a lot of rest yesterday, I think I may be getting over this bug. Bad news is babysitter is still sick, so I guess I'm home with Becca again. Not happy about that, but much prefer to do it healthy-ish.
DH will be coming home tonight instead of tomorrow! Yay! Going to get to grocery store today ahead of winter storm fearers.
I'm glad you are feeling better and DH is coming home. Being sick when you are a Mom is really hard!

135 OTD. Busy day off today. Cleaning and shopping and getting a facial from DS#2 at his beauty school. I get to be his practice subject today!
Bonnie, so sorry you have a bug! That is tough anytime but especially when you have a baby to take care of and another baby on board!
Diane O, sounds like you have some busy days ahead of you as well! Hope DC heals well! Post pics of your nails please!
Weather is supposed to be in the 20's this weekend but I want to try and get out and get some activity in. Perhaps a snowy hike!
So what's with "Self-care: DC care"? I guess that will make you feel better, but it really caught my eye.
Weight 122.4, calories 1371. Certainly more calories than I wanted to have yesterday and my digestive system wasn't totally happy. But bathroom time this morning made me feel better and maybe I was lighter afterwards? Sorry, TMI!
Today one of the women in my walking group is having an afternoon holiday wine party. I'm bringing more of BIL's cookies to get them out of the house, though they actually haven't been what is calling me the last few days. I'm looking forward to dressing up a bit and eating my lunch/dinner from appetizer selections. I'll try to eat protein forward and though I'll certainly have way more calories than usual I don't like to be uncomfortable at a party so that always holds me in check. I may have a brunch get-together with the same group in the spring once my decorating is essentially done.
The motion detector light was added to the closet and my eye mask arrives from Amazon tomorrow. But as far as I could tell, DH didn't wander last night (or I was just too tired to wake up). I am starting to research door alarm and pressure pad alarms for caretaking as I will probably need them in the not too distant future.
Have a thin Thursday!

Liz.. I am taking care of myself by structuring my care for Chuck in such a way as to foster his independence and minimize dependence. Thanks for asking !

Weight 173.8 I was really good yesterday, so that's all working out. Trying to get more water as Peps advised
The Christmas party was so much fun yesterday! I'm glad I didn't back out as I felt like doing... The food was amazing but I think I chose well.
The trainer was good too even if it was an hour after a hard Pilates workout. I lived! I can actually do push-ups now when I couldn't a few weeks ago. It's fun to see changes like that. I actually felt really good physically and about myself after all my exercise. Imagine that! And I got waved and smiled at when I was leaving by a very cute, very tall trainer who was probably 15 to 20 years younger than me, so that was fun too. He may have just been amused by how red and sweaty the old lady was, but whatever, it made my day.
Today I have the therapist and a hair appointment. It's still raining and very dark. Love it!
Diane, that's neat OH wants you to do that!
BB, hope you keep feeling better.
Liz, let me know what you think of the mask!
Have a great day all!
You aren't even close to being an old lady! You are certainly getting very fit!
