Is it really December already!!!! Time really does fly the older one gets.
Munchkins? Hors Devores (however it is spelled)? How about 3 dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies arriving in the mail??? Arghh....
Weight 120.6, calories 1400. Most of those calories were darn cookies. My weight is down but I think I am a bit dehydrated from yesterday so I expect a spike tomorrow given the cookie consumption. I put them in the freezer hoping that will deter me somewhat but geez, is my BIL deliberately trying to sabotage me (half were on a bag marked "girls")?
Yesterday we toured the entire John and Mable Ringling House (2 different docent led tours). It was so worth the cost (picture on the housetop patio below)! But two 45 minute tours back to back were more than DH could easily handle. He really enjoyed the first one and parts of the second but was fading a lot. By our early dinner at the cafe he was a bit of a mess. Eye-opening... I think I will be trying out the daycare here next week.
Today he needs to rest a lot because we have a dance at the lodge from 5:30-8:30. He still loves music and dancing so this will hopefully be fun for him. If not, we just live a few houses from the lodge so he can come home to bed.
Have a satisfying Saturday!

And poof! The mystery pound went away, even though I weighed in this morning at 1:15 a.m. Yup, 1:15 a.m. I'm obviously not sleeping great the last few nights. Yesterday, I had zero energy and decided to listen to my body and rest.
This right eyelid allergy (if indeed it's an allergy) is not getting any better. In fact, I look like someone sucker-punched me, which is not the look I'm going for. The puffiness is uncomfortable and, since I've stopped wearing my temporary contact lens (thinking that may speed healing - it hasn't), I'm visually discombobulated again.
This morning I will go to the Emergency Room and see if an ER doctor has any better ideas about how to treat this eyelid than my optometrist does. And dear Shel, our wonderful resident pharmacist ... if you're around today, I would also like to chat with you about how treatments for eye allergies. To be clear, it's not my eye, but my upper eyelid.
Other plans for today include wandering through our town's Christmas Arts and Craft Fair and packing for my Chicago trip (assuming this eye issue can be resolved soon),
Today's reprised theme is a bit of a stretch, given how my eye feels right now, but I'm sticking with it: I am perfect. :)
Holiday Music Spin: Common wisdom is that this year's best holiday album is John Legend's "A Legendary Christmas," and it's free on Amazon Prime. Here's an old "chestnut" (cough!) he interprets beautifully: https://music.amazon.com/albums/B07JL9P74R/CATALOG

I'm around today! Post here, or give a call/text. Let me know if I am not in your contacts list --- I have you in mine.
I went back to see more about your eyelid....I'm glad you are getting it checked out.

Picked up DH from airport last night. In my mind, the house was going to be perfect, dinner would be in the oven, baby would be well behaved. Of course none of that happened. I didn't make it out of grocery store in time, so my car was actually stocked full of groceries, no dinner made, baby was upset having been in her carseat too long. But it all worked out and DH is home, if only for a short busy weekend.
Y'all, I don't know if it's the pregnancy hormones or what, but the loss of George H.W. Bu******* me hard. I guess we haven't lost any president since ford and that was over a decade ago? I know we shouldn't talk politics but H.W. just seemed like such a genuinely nice guy. He's with Barbara now.
I guess I've also been thinking about my grandparents. I only have my grandmother surviving. She hugged me twice the other day...let go, and embraced again. she's 88. I tried so hard to save that memory of that feeling.
Anyway, today I am trying to put up the tree (all 13.5ft of it) and make a birthday dinner for my mom.
Have a great day. Hug loved ones.
Happy Saturday!
I was going to be 2 minutes late for my workout so I said F-it and decided I would skip and do other things. That included going to grocery store and I was treated to my favorite cashier. He is probably 19, pretty overweight, and quite candid about what is going on in his head, which probably should be left unsaid. But, then he wouldn't be my favorite cashier. He is live action cartoon. I have to tell him what vegetables I have, so I'm listing "leeks......savoy (which he couldn't find under lettuce so I added) CABBAGE....." He gets to celery and he looks at me expectantly and I am like "really?" The guy in line behind of me says "celery!". I was buying yogurt (10 for 10 dollars) and he offers he has never had yogurt. I comment that I am only buying so much because it is on sale (total lie) and he says he does the same thing when Hormel Hash is on sale...."and then 12 hours later there is Hormel Hash everywhere." The guy behind me says "look at the meth addicts in the self-check." We all turn and stare.
Anyhoo, been ultra busy at work, the other pharmacist worked 4 hours on Monday then had to go home sick for the rest of the week and will be out thru this coming Monday for sure. She typically (inappropriately) works when sick so this must be some awful virus. So, my long days are even longer. I also have a newbie pharmacist training with me. Delightful person, but new, so still more work than help at this stage. That's all ok, I would rather be the one at work than the one with awful virus.
DianeS, I'm thinking you can come up with a boobslap art piece. Cecily, I can't believe you don't see who cute you are! Stinkin' cute!!!!! Well, I can believe it, because we have all have a host of issues but when you can't think of something to talk about with your therapist that might be a good topic. Show her the picture.
Seize your Saturday!
Shel

LOL! Cecily's therapist will just say, "How do you feel about that?"
BTW, Shel, I did NOT go to the ER today. During the pre-dawn hours this morning after I posted here, I decided (realized?) that my right eye lid / area is actually looking a little better.
So I've decided to be more patient about my recovery. And to use more full-coverage makeup and darker sunglasses.

Greetings December Delights
Still in the hover craft at 153.5. I ate a bunch of so called healthy pea snacks for dinner last night. Really a new low. I will toss the rest. I need to get to the store and get some good stuff. Today might be a day to go the the big town and shop multiple places. Need to go to Bed Bath and Beyond to get extra deep twin sheets for our memory foam bed that adjusts. DH has torn a hole in his fitted sheet. No place else has the extra deep sheets around here. No one will be Christmas shopping there, right? Then I should hit the big discount grocery store. Lordy I must have some genetic defect as I am a female who hates shopping of all sorts.
Liz that Ringling home looks so cool. Who knew there was such a place? Two tours would wear me out. Rest up for dancing.
BB, when you have a crawler, nothing is ever going to be perfect. Except that you have a perfect little family about to become more perfect!
Ann I hope the eye thing heals up. Would heat or cold packs help?
Shel I am laughing at your description of the check out guy. Hormel Hash? Sounds hideous. He needs to be educated on his vegetables. I remember a young checker who didn't know what ginger root was but thats somewhat understandable. But celery? GL at work where it sounds like you have your hands full.
No boobslap sculpture in mind. I am going to do a bigfoot raking leaves however. And maybe a bigfoot doing goat yoga.
Big holiday craft fair this weekend. I would like to stop by on my trip to the big-ish city. Usually I go around to my friends and offer to watch their booths so they can take potty breaks.
My SIL came through her cancer surgery fine and no indication it has spread. Pathology still pending and further treatment as yet undecided.
DH is still working on the TIVO situation and is making it into Mission to Mars. So funny but at least my little tv now works.
Well time for a little more coffee then gotta get moving. The electric car is fully charged. Diane S
Wow, so relieved for your SIL! Sounds like more treatment to come - wells wishes to her (and that brother of yours.)
I want that checker to transfer to the organic coop across the street. (I shop both places.) He's such a charming fella and I fear his eating habits are terrible. At least he is on his feet and using his body when he works. The coop people could gradually introduce him to higher quality foods. Maybe he would learn a few vegetables. But, of course, none of my business.
