So much good stuff in that post, Bonnie.
Re the joy of mania, I used to know someone who claimed to be bipolar and who once said with such a joyful look on his face: "Well, at least sometimes I get to be manic."
:)
P.S. The storm is arriving here, too ... this morning the wind was fierce from the south (very rare here). Then midday it fell still. Ten minutes ago, northwest winds started blowing even fiercer than this morning's.

I get to celebrate the fact that I worked out 5 days this week. Haven't done that in a loooooong time. I created my own boot camp for yesterday.
Since everyone has been talking windmills, I decided to add them to my line up yesterday. I was able to manage 18 in 45 seconds. Started off pretty easy, but by the end, not so much. My lower abs and obliques BURNED!
I like that the "boot camp" concept is highly aerobic and that you do each move only once.
Eating was off yesterday. It was my choice as I allowed myself to succumb to my inner voices and cravings. I also had tempting foods in the house, which is not in my best interest. I am vacillating between throwing some of it out or putting it in the car so easy access is gone. One client on Friday brought a huge box of milk and dark chocolate truffles. I have not had chocolate since the beginning of October (except the few that I now remember I ate at Halloween...). Distance is a great liar. Had one. Woke the beast. Yesterday my brother brought over "keto" pumpkin pie. Low carb, sure. High calorie, too. Last night for dinner we went to a local diner type of place. Good food and one can eat healthy there. The manager is always so kind and friendly. She sent us home with this:
So, yeah, I had a piece of that, too. New scale showed me the error of my ways this morning. 249. It will come off easily. I am amazed at how quickly/easily/insidiously a "relapse" occurs.
The house is a mess, my bills need attention, I have dirty dogs from the rain (mud), and am not prepped for school this week. Back to reality... I have enjoyed my week of non planned vacation. Most of all, I have enjoyed the rest. The last several days I have gotten roughly 7.5-9 hours of rest each night. Not sleeping through, but in and out of sleep rest. It feels good.
Wishing everyone a smooth transition back to reality...
Greetings Sunday Celebrators
Well its 153 for me and a sunny day for once. I think we get another day or two before the rains resume. Its been a blessing for the hideous fires even though the wet ashes are now turning into a toxic soup of stuff from burned plastics and such. Also makes recovery of victims more difficult.
Gosh, sorry to be such a downer on a day of uplifting posts! The good side of the fires is that people are strongly coming together with all manner of help - I saw one person who owns a resort of cabins offering them to victims to live in with pets included.
So Ann, you actually organize and file your clothing options! Isn't that what first ladies do - keep track of what they wore and when? You are indeed the First Lady of West Plaines Mo. (auto correct typed "Lazy" LOL).
We have eaten all of the bit of turkey we brought home. No turkey soup here which is kind of a bummer. SIL used to make this turkey soup which had sour cream and a lot of lemon in it plus fresh rosemary from our yard. Sooooo good. It can be made using fat free sour cream or probably greek yogurt. I want more turkey. Maybe I can get a part of a turkey breast and roast it.
Bonnie150 you are so poetic. You should do a lot of journaling while you recover from your surgery and then share it with others facing the same thing. Glad the little bits of you examined during surgery did not show icky stuff. I have been thinking of you midwesterners and my own family back in Nebraska as the weather reports come in. I so remember many perilous trips up and down I80. Hunker down by the fire with a book! Love DianeO's description of all we get to read and enjoy and have comfort. We are blessed indeed.
So Peps you were blessed by the restaurant manager with a box containing a 6000 calorie item. Can't identify exactly what it is but it screams EAT ME.
BB, glad you got the lights up. I have always wondered why newer houses don't have lights built in for holiday use.
Well Christmas is setting in which for me means loads of gallery duty. We are having a special private party to honor our regular customers at one gallery. I worry I won't have enough to offer.
Yesterday we pigged out on college football. I feel like I have to watch it since it will be over soon. I think I like football because there are pauses after each play during which I can play on the iPad. plus they show everything twice in case you missed something.
Studio time for sure today. It should be warm there as the sun comes in my windows low in the sky at this time. And they fired a day early so there is new stuff out. Yay.
Here is an idea: there should be a cable tv channel called the Fitness Channel. You can turn it on any time and there is some sort of exercise, yoga or whatever going on that you can just follow with. Or maybe there is such a thing.
Well I know where the coffee channel is and am going to tune in. Diane S
Nebraska is finishing the year strong! Maybe things are turning around for Husker nation.

Return to hiking! I did a 6.8 miler this morning in the Cleveland National Forest. According to my Apple watch, it was the equivalent of 67 flights of stairs, 14,300 steps and 850 exercise calories. Huzzah! Now to avoid eating all those calories back as exercise makes me hungry...
Nothing else to report, but love reading everyone's updates as usual!
