No lines to cross, Shel. While I was on slab- 'en-state-o- fillet, stuff was being constantly schlepped back to the kitchen for analysis. Nothing showed. (Yay). Still, there were some bitsandpieces (just as a matter of course) sent off to other labs. I will know finally as one can at my first follow up which is, I think, December 6th. Fingers continues crossed.

This morning I was listening to a PBS radio broadcast about two fellows who, over 19days, free climbed the shear face of Mt Rainier, a first. Just wow. It was filmed by climbers going up the safe (if you can call it that) often climbed sides and can be accessed on Netflix - sorry, can't remember the name. Girly, you must be one hell of a piece of work! Cannot wait to hear of your big adventure!

Bonnie, I think those guys climbed a portion of El Capitan in Yosemite. I heard a PBS show about those guys! More guts than I have. And clearly, more core strength.

I've spent so many hours lying in the meadow below El Capitan staring up at the crazy super people who climb that kind of stuff. In my youth and middle age, I tried some MUCH easier faces in Yosemite.

Mostly, I'm good at carrying way too much weight in a backpack and trudging around the Sierras in the daylight hours and at night trading single malt scotch for ho****er for my freeze-dried food. Protip: Scotch weighs a LOT less than kitchen gear.

Sheepishly stand corrected. Ooops.. Well, I hope I got the right Mt matched correctly with the correct continent. (If not, ooopsi again)

I remember spending a whole afternoon trudging upwards at Big Bend on a Thanksgiving break. We got to the top of who knows what, sat marveling at the view whilst "rehydrating" and taking various inhalants (to "help us breath better, I think, or, well, maybe to better appreciate the scenery). Any way, the trek up was a breeze-this was during a nanno second of relatively healthy weight- The trip down was a totally different experience. Lesson learned, and I'm more about the rolling hill, rugged woodsy path ever since. Your camp recipe sounds delicious, albeit that boat has now sailed for me.

Greetings Holiday Survivors

Weight 153 today. Not cool but then I am not doing much about it. Must find a healthier routine as coffee drinking is hardly aerobic. I did try the windshield wipers while lying in bed on our memory foam mattress. It wasn't too hard but...

Paula sorry the meeting with Kevin's daughter did not go well. Not much advice here other than to let nature take its course. And bless you on this difficult holiday season. Glad your boys are doing well.

Diamond I so love your family remarks. I have always admired the people I know who had horrid childhoods who overcame them and created great families in spite of it. Be very proud indeed.

Bonnie 150, love the idea of you and your sisters living together. One of my friends here thinks that in our old age we should all get together and buy a motel and all live in it. Good concept if it came with maid service.

Ah Peps, the battle of the leftovers. I managed to escape with just a little turkey and the cauliflower I made. I think its even better as a leftover.

Well the rain has stopped for a day. In a while I am going to a friend's house to teach her how to make those microwaved cheese crisps. She is nearly 81 and has been unintentionally losing weight and showing signs of confusion and memory loss. So I will take typed instructions plus cheese and parchment paper.

Crisis du jour in our house: the big TIVO is malfunctioning and possibly the router. My husband the geek has a tivo mini on each of the 5 tvs and now none of them work. He has been busy all morning trying to nurse it back to health but I think a new one is in order. Electronics are very important to DH. He gives me a hard time about my pathetic computer skills but I reminded him today to remember that I have the skill to shop for and prepare a Thanksgiving dinner and have it all come out on time - a task that he could not even begin to do. Made him think.

I think my new fitbit is cheating me and not getting all my steps in. Either that or I am more sedentary than ever. I wonder which is true.......

Yep Ann, those drops are a pain but necessary. Hope you can get the other eye done soon.

Well I am going to have to go look up Straight No Chaser.

BB you are doing great. Try not to focus too much on weight while you have baby under construction. Glad the Sooners won. My Cornhuskers got beat but put up a good fight.

Stay warm DianeO. Put all those pellets to good use!

Take care all. Diane S

Ann, Had to have been 28 years ago on a New Year's Day drive from Michigan to Kansas, somewhere around St. Louis, that I remember listening to a fellow from Japan touting the importance of drinking room temp or warmer water. He felt that cold water was an unnatural shock to a system set up to operate at 98.6 . (Do not have any idea why I recall that - there was another story about black eyed peas, but don't get me started on that bunny trail). At the time, I thought he must be crazy--I never drank anywater that did not pass through multiple ice cubes before passing my lips. As life roles on, the ice cubes have passed away, even in the summer, and I find that tepid water- especially in cool weather- serves me just fine.

All well on the SEKansas front. Sleeping a lot. Working hard at pulling it together at the right times. Sleep at night---Stay up during the day. Mixed results so far. Slowly adding foods. Avocado seems to suit my new system just fine. Still trying to up the calories without having to rely so much on the white carbs. (The damn things are just too much of an easy to eat go to, and then no room for protein. Got to find balance. Non-soluble fiber a no no for the moment. Have tried oatmeal and tolerate it pretty well. Unfortunately, all of the goods that are so good on it are off the table. Pass the salt and pepper for seasoning and condiments list.

And, yes, the Poo faucet is functional--my tummy and track awake and working. (Full disclosure- with the help of Mirilax, Sennokot, and Reglan. But, ****who's gonna call that cheating? It's actually prescribed! Must say I will be more than happy to get off the Reglan--the posted side effects should be Alone enough to scare the poop out-o-a-person.)

Waiting for the temp to get to about 65 and Kurt has promised to take me out for walkies. Bark bark bark. Hope all are enjoying a sunny day.

It's good to be alive. It's always good.

Yes, always so good to be alive. At ****tail hour today I listened to "The Essential Nina Simone" -- something that should be on every sentient being's iPod, Amazon Playlist, or Apple Tunes. That is Nina's theme du century -- it's good to be alive, no matter how bad or weird life can sometimes be.

Oh- OH ! OH! Thank you for Nina- found a cut, "In the Dark". Much appreciated. Hoo-whaa. Stirs what I don't know! Ok, now I'm in an anthology. This is going to call for earphones (which, for me, put the music "inside my head").

My daughter was given Reglan after her first round of chemotherapy and within an hour or two started having dystonia. It was scary until the ER doc figured it out and gave her benedryl. But we laughed afterwards about how weird her body reacted to it. She had to keep pulling on her baseball cap brim because the dystonia caused her head to be pulled backward.

Yes- just that. What is scary for me is that those Side Effects can and possibly do turn into Permanent effects. The sooner the better- earliest off is Dec. 1st. Counting the days.

Weight 176.4 Too much piiiiiieeee, but a lovely Thanksgiving

Greetings all! The training is going well. It's hard to imagine, but I can use heavier weights in just 4 sessions and I can stand up straighter. Hello upper back muscles, nice to meet you. I still feel very awkward, but it gets better every time. No visits this week, but back at it the following week.

I hiked yesterday with my Dad. We did just under 5 miles. Last year at this time he was having to walk with a cane and falling a lot. He's a "working out with a trainer" success story!! While we were out, we came across this little guy in a wet area, a California Newt... His eyes are huge! No winder witches used eye of newt so often

And here's Ferg after a long day or swimming and ball chasing...

Tomorrow another hike with a friend in the Cleveland National Forest. Should be a nice day for it!
