Good advice! I found my legs felt better after walking Fergus today then everything seized right back up after sitting for a short while. I see her again for more voluntary torture tomorrow plus I have my Pilates class tomorrow too so that'll be nice stretching. It'll be Mondays and Wednesdays for me for the foreseeable future...
Cecily, I think you are SO doing the right thing by challenging your body. Today I "sneaked in" some yoga stretches, and boy did it feel good. My body just LOVES being asked to do something that's even a little bit hard. :)

Naturally my thoughts have been with Bonnie today. Thought of her early, early this morning and am hoping by now she is in recovery and all went well.
First, I swear to you all that I am not starving myself. I swear on a stack of Bibles I am eating between 1500 and 2000 calories most days. Some days are a little more carb heavy than others, but I am certainly not depriving myself of food, nutrients, or the occasional treat. As a matter of fact, yesterday I had some SUGAR FREE dark chocolate. ITs pretty good. Got it at Trader Joe's. Yes, an impulse buy, but I did not eat it in the car. Waited until I was home and ate it when I planned - after dinner. All this to say....
I weighed 245.8 this morning. What the heck? Look, I am not complaining in the least, but I'm sort of blown away. It's as if my body has gotten used to the idea that it's supposed to reduce and now it is agreeable to the task. I am pretty proud of myself for plugging away and not giving up or reducing intake just to make the scale move. I stayed the course and the scale eventually followed suit. This is truly a new one for me. I usually try to control like hell the movement downward.
Spent time yesterday meal prepping for the week. All my breakfasts and yogurt snacks are prepped through Friday. All I have to do is make my lunch each day. That's easy enough.
Winter came to Nor Cal today. I woke up to 42 degree weather. We had Tule Fog and lots of smoke. It's still very very dry, though. We are at forecast for 4% humidity today. I haven't checked what it truly is, but like Cecily, my nose is a mess, my skin is dry and my hands are cracking it's been soooooo dry! My thumb split completely open and HURTS.
I am getting my first tattoo on December 9. Ron is hoping I will forget. I won't. It is a memorial tattoo of my beloved Jackson -The dog who truly changed my life. I have researched the artist and feel confident in her talent. Fingers crossed. This is a huge step for me on several levels. YIKES, but I'm gonna do it!
Every day you are blowing me away, Devon. You're inspiring me and for that, I thank you.

So very happy for you and your dropping scale!! It puts a smile on my face to read your updates these days.
I hear you on the cracking skin. I'm like a scaly reptile right now even with repeated cream applications. And I can't even brush Ferg. His fur crackles with static, stands on end and it all sticks to me. Wouldn't want him to spark and combust (haha)! Your poor thumb!
Do you have a drawing/pic of your tattoo?
Cec - give this a try - I find it amazing

Wow Devon :) Congrats on the weight loss and its so deserved. You have worked hard for it
Re the thumb - what I tend to do is find a good cream and pop it on your thumb then cover with a bandaid (plaster) it will heat the cream and allow it to soak in whilst protecting your thumb. I suffer badly at times from dermitis and over the years have learnt little tricks when my hands have been bad. Another one to keep in mind is a pair of cotton gloves - I will sometimes lather my hands thickly with cream and pop on the gloves at bedtime. It allows the cream to soak right in whilst you sleep. I always feel slightly ridiculous (Mickey Mouse eat your heart out) but it works
Go you re tattoo - I have considered one on and off over the years. Currently in the off mode but see what happens. If it makes you happy then you should do it :)
