You know I never realized how much humidity makes a difference. When we were in Denver my sinuses were incredibly dry as was my hair and skin.

Adding smoke to the dryness and my sinuses are very unhappy!

Weight: 167.4 Up down up down. "Weigh in" tomorrow at my ob appt. That will tell the truth. Overall I can't be too upset. Sometimes I wonder if my hangup on the scale weight is a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe it's neither. Maybe it's simply necessary

Actually, I wonder how often I identify things as positive or negative when they should be neither. Hmmm

Bonnie, thinking of you this morning. Praying that God leads the surgeon's hands and then places that healing hand upon you and fills you with comfort and eases your fears as you enter the healing process.

Ann-I'm guessing you got snow too? We had about 3/4" but it was beautiful, fluffy, snow globe flakes. And the roads stayed good for driving. We had both fireplaces going in the house yesterday.

Count me out of the hot weather. I like visiting warm climates, especially in the dead of winter. But I just don't think I could live there. I love the change of seasons here. In fact, I don't think we get enough winter. Last year we didn't have a single accumulation of snow. It was very sad. Granted, I might feel differently if I were digging out of snow all winter. But there is just something so magical and Hallmark-esque about the snow. I love the smell of wood fireplaces burning in the neighborhood and the crackling of it in my house. I love boots and coats and scarves and gloves. I also love the changing leaves too much.

But the wind chill was 6 degrees this morning. That's so awfully cold for this early!!!

DH's birthday yesterday included...food porn ahead...his favorite of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, peas, and cherry cheesecake. I'm feeling food gluttony already and we haven't even reached Thanksgiving!

Tonight I'l have some Asian pork and an Asian chopped salad. Maybe rice on the side. At least that will feel lighter.

"Actually, I wonder how often I identify things as positive or negative when they should be neither."

Great question ... for us all. :)

And yes, it did snow here. The oak woods still have a lot of leaves and look a bit like huge dogwood trees in bloom!

Good Morning :) Sorry I didnt make it here yesterday. Had apt with Orth Surgeon for my knee and the day just ran away. Semi good news - I have more movement in it than I did 3 years ago. He was very happy with my weight loss. We have agreed to leave the knee heal for another month and if still sore he will inject it with cortizone. We also discussed doing the same before my trip to the states next year. He has told me it will be a partial knee replacment when the time comes and that he now uses Robotics. I watched a video on it yesterday and Im impressed.

Not much on today, just work then pack the car and drive to the farm. Will be nice

Bonnie - You are in my thoughts. Hope the surgery goes well x Long distance hugs

Ann - Good Luck with the cataract surgery - mum just had both of hers done and is impressed

Well I better run - Hope you all have a great evening

Shirley

Thanks Cec - nice to know I can delay it a while longer but have options to help manage the pain :)

That's very good news about your mum's cataract surgery. That's what all my friends say about theirs. Still, tomorrow's surgery is on MY eyes! Yikes and LOL!

Mum was understandably nervous before her first one - fear of the unknown etc

She did super well and has healed - we had her second one done a fortnight later and again she did really well

Sending you my very best wishes x

Weight 176

I'm sooo sore today after yesterday's trainer session. ! It hurt to lift my arms to wash my hair in the shower... Everything hurts (but not in an "I've injured myself" way). Clearly this is activity I've been missing in my life. I don't love it, but I hope that maybe with time I'll love the results.

I had a lovely coffee with my friend this morning who just got back from the hiking trip I was supposed to go on to Utah. Great catching up and seeing her pictures. Tonight I'm headed to dinner and the movies to see Bohemian Rhapsody.

I think I'm going to go get a pedicure. This bone dry weather wreaks havoc on every bit of exposed skin!

Happy Tuesday...
