Oh yeah ... face vs. ass. Even without knowing that The Deneuve said that this is woman's eventual choice, at 73 it's the choice I'm considering.
So far, I've been voting the straight ass ticket. But I've noticed that when I gain a few pounds my face does look better.
Still ... there's this really nice spot around 132 pounds where my ass AND my face look good. But then it's not ever going to be in the cards that, day in, day out, I will weigh 132 pounds -- or any other weight.
Get thee behind me, Perfectionism!

One of my friends says that her body could stand to lose 10 (maybe 20?), but she feels that her face looks horsey at a lower weight so she is staying put. I suspect my SIL's face would look better with a little weight - her body would too, but she doesn't eat much (drinks a lot of calories instead).

Well its great to be home in cool misty Humboldt. The smoke around Napa was not good; blowing in from the Camp fire. Someone at our Motel was staying there as they were burned out in Paradise. So sad. But otherwise it was Motel Hell and won't stay there again.
The shows were fun and though Tesla didn't win, her cousin finished her championship which means she is out of my way. No shows until next year.
And we had such fun with Peps. Dog shows are like an all day party with excentric characters. And the restaurant was to die for. I had lobster raviolis in tarragon cream sauce. Couldn't eat anywhere near all of it but enjoyed what I could. We also spent time walking around downtown Napa and I did a lot of steps and stairs.
So much going on with y'all. Bonnie150 you are first and foremost in our minds and we will be thinking of you. Its good to meditate and focus healing energy to the affected parts. Wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery.
BB so glad you have DH home. Hormones are making you hungry.
I did a lot of off plan eating these last four days. I am afraid of the scale.
Meyer Lemons! They can be grown around here and I want to plant some. Maybe wait until spring. Thanks for reminding me of them.
We did a Trader Joes run in Petaluma since we have none up here. Splurged on some cheese but also got protein bars and veggies and avocados. And wine.
DianeO hope DC's surgery goes well. Yeah I am like you - since I retired I have no fancy clothes and don't care. These dog show people in Napa dress really fancy - all glittery and super tanned.
Well more tomorrow. I am tired but content. Diane S
Another dusting of snow here this morning and a high of 20 degrees. When I pulled into the garage this afternoon, I considered walking down our very short driveway to retrieve the mail, but the cold wind...it was a nope. After dinner DH asked what was in the mail, and I said, oh, I didn't get it. He looked sad, but unable to resist the lure of bills, flyers and credit card invitations, he began to pull on his shoes. But then, d'oh, I remembered it was Veteran's Day! Saved from the arctic chill, neither of us have poked even a toe outside since coming home.
I started each class today with the poem Flanders Field. My 9th graders did a great job analyzing the descriptive language. But mostly they amazed me with their serious and respectful attitude they brought to a century old poem. There are some very fine and very dear teenagers...
And finally a football game I really care about! My suburban city has two high schools, one where I teach and "the other one". Our team has made it to the state semi finals, and we will be playing, yep, "the other one" our crosstown rivals, yet also our brother/sister school. The game will be in the U.S. Bank Stadium built for our Vikings, and the site of last year's Super Bowl. How awesome for the players, the coach's, the marching band and our community. I've already bought my tickets
What a lovely day you and your students had. Yes, I think today's teenagers are grand, too. I like thinking of them yesterday, pondering that poem about graves and poppies and war and men, many of them young, who died so far away from home.
