We are more alike than not.....I'm only doing it because of that Rainier thing I signed up for in June. What retailer is it?......Helly Hanson?.....who says there is no bad weather, just bad clothing. I have all the clothes REI sells, so really can't complain about cold and wet actually touching me.
I also know people that camp in snow and claim to enjoy it. One said, "because there are no snakes." Double EW! Some things I don't want to know.

Liz, big hugs to you. I know how hard it is. You did the kind thing, as hard as it may have been. XO!
Halloween is behind me and a quick little detox seemed to do the trick. I seemed to have made it pretty easily through a day of mild cravings and was able to get right back on track. However, I will say that eating sugar those two days really triggered my appetite. Not true hunger, but the want to eat - especially carb-o-licious items. Lucky for me that appetite went away with the day of detox.
Thinking about goals and eating to meet goals. I read something along the lines of this: Eat like you're eating to achieve your goals. Makes sense to me. Perhaps a little easier said than done, but really worth figuring through. An interesting aspect of that statement is this: What type of eating is the eating that will help ME achieve my goals? I can eat to lose weight (for a time), but eating to "achieve a goal" is a different concept from eating to "lose weight". Well, at least for me it feels like it is a different concept. Will have to spend some time with this one. Hmmmm..... Always something, right?
The patient is not making progress as hoped. The saga continues. Next appointment is 11/13. Two positives, though. First is that the newest catheter is smaller which results in less discomfort and is much easier to manage beneath his clothing. He is also very stoked that his belly is so much smaller that he is able to wear most of his clothes again. I swear he lost 2 shirt sizes around his gut. And I am not too proud to admit that I've been sort of jealous of that. I know... not the way to lose a gut, but that fat brain does not always function on logic...
Yesterday I cleaned the house from top to bottom, so I felt quite accomplished. Today I have groomed 2 grown ups and a puppy. Going to get back to it and groom my pup and get her ears set tonight.
Winter homes, summer homes, furnished apartments, glacier hiking, putting out blazing fires, clamping... clearly I have been standing in the wrong line lately! Such rich and diverse lives we all live!
When you said you groomed 2 grown-ups, at first I thought you meant you and Ron :)
"...fat brain does not always function logic..." True that!

I love that quote: "Eat like you're eating to achieve your goals." :) Thanks.
