Greetings My Spooks
151.5 today. I am glad my scale doesn't do tenths. I am tempted to disregard halves. Or why not round it down to even tens.
Well its getting down to the wire for us and Halloween. DH is beginning to remove tools and junk from the living room. I have cleared off much of my art table. The vacuum cleaner is broken and the handle broke off the microwave. New ones probably needed. Still need to wash all the sheets and blankets that cover up the sectional to keep dog dirt off of it plus cover up how worn out the old thing is.
A big Costco run may occur today. I so dread the big box stores even though they are more efficient than most.
BB your Halloween party looks like great fun and I am sure it was enjoyed by all. Ours looks like it is going to be much smaller this year - people are traveling or have health problems or whatever. Seems like the whole world is sort of on edge and needs a dose of positive energy and I am sure your party provided that. Good luck on the job thing.
Peps, glad the sugar reset is working. I have a feeling I am going to get into trouble with Halloween candy this year. I have already dipped into it.
Gotta stop in to the gallery and deposit cash. Several recent calls from workers indicates that the cash drawer is FUBAR. Last night it was supposedly $85 short. This morning its $16 over. I don't know how I am supposed to fix it from my home while wearing pajamas. First world problems.
Not much to say today about weight and maintenance. My 9 year anniversary is coming up. Time for a renewal of resolve.
Positive thoughts to all. Cheers. Diane S
Oh, Shell, would you like to feel the callouses on my heels? I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at DH asking if you wanted to feel the bumpy pimply Ostrich leather! For some reason I'm envisioning a plump, balding man asking you to do it with a come hither look, like his pimply boots are sexy! LOL! I'm cracking myself up with the whole visual scenario of it! I'm bad, I know.
I had virtually 2 cups of water yesterday. The rest was coffee, iced tea and one diet soda. I know better than that. However, there were two sides to that coin. The positive was I did not have to get up in the night to pee! YAY! The downside is that it was reflected on the scale - close to 252 rather than going the other way to 250. However, food was on point.
I was able cook and prep breakfasts for 3 days for both of us, got the eggs cooked for the dogs' breakfasts for the entire week and then some. Salads and fruit are ready for the school week, but still need nightly assembly. Just have to plan proteins for dinner for the week.
Well, the care giver and patient got into it last night. The care giver silently lost his **** when the patient said, "Do you have to vacuum right now? You know I was into this episode of Dr. Who. The vacuum was so loud I couldn't even watch while you were doing the bedroom." I explained that this was the time I had to do it. I also mentioned that he had been saying he wanted to do it, but hadn't done it, so I knew he wasn't up to it yet. This was the time I had to do it and I was on a roll. Dr. Who is recorded so you can watch it another time and I will be done in a little while. Then he complained about the noise and being able to do anything while the vacuum was going. I told him to leave the living room and go somewhere else. At that his response was about where I expected him to go. OMG! I said I didn't care and just deal with it. He stayed put. When I got to his area I accidentally bumped his chair and WWIII happened. His balloon burst. Oh boy.... The positive is he got so mad, he got off his ass and took a walk which he's supposed to do three times per day and has only done once since his stroke. He came back much more pleasant, and I got to clean in peace. Win-win (for me anyway...LOL)
Have a session with the shrink today. Will probably be good to vent a little about WWIII yesterday. Ever onward...
So looking forward to this week at school. It is one of my favorites. The kids LOVE Halloween and it makes the whole week a lot of fun for me. I embrace the crazies of the week rather than fight it and we all have a lot of fun - pumpkin math, art projects, scary poetry (Google "The Flonster Poem" - an absolute favorite of mine!), mummy wrapping and mud eating competitions! (Mud=chocolate pudding!)
The issue for me this week is staying out of the chocolate. Prayers welcomed...LOL!
Good Morning :) Hobbling in this am after a solid 4 hours working around the farm after I had finished my day job but its a labour of love. We got 20 of the 40 trees whipper snipped (grass trimmed) and mulch around them. I did 6 by hand whilst DH was snipping then he got the tractor - I love that machine. Easier to scoop up a bucket load and have it brought to me for spreading. I worked my butt off to keep up with him in the heat. Then it was 2 hours of watering (dinner was consumed after 8pm last night)- gotta keep our trees going and expecting a hot week this week. Loving that its taking shape. Pics included. Partial driveway shot and one of the Autumn Blaze Maples. I cant wait for the leaves to change colour in autumn. Proud to say we havent lost one of the 40 we planted nearly 2 years ago. We have babied them a LOT
Thanks Ocean :) This is indeed the place where I feel totally at peace. It even makes working feel ok - hearing the girls (cows) bellow if they see me, the frogs croak in the dam, watching our dogs race around with such freedom. Its bliss and makes me more determined to get it all done and work hard so we can build our house and move up here.
Today DH is going to army base for a meeting after lunch so I will likely jus****er after I finish work then wait for him to come home. Hoping to finish mulching the trees as he heads home tommorrow. Im taking the opportunity to stay up here and work. He will be back Friday night
Well I best go start the day. Hope you all have a wonderful evening
Shirley :)
Im happy to say I will one day be an ex city girl. Who knew I would fall in love with country life so much. Yes we are blessed to have found this block. Our 9.7 hectares - just the right size for DH & I as we age. The shed and house yard sit on top of a slight ridge with 360 degree views of the range. I love it
Looking forward to seeing as much of California, Grand Canyon, San Fran & Lake Tahoe n Las Vegas as we can next September.
Are you close to there Peps? Thinking it would be great to organise a catch up whilst DH and I are there for those who are in the area
Hope today is better for you :)
I'm thinking Las Vegas might lure many of us !
