The wedding yesterday was wonderful. DH loved it and danced like crazy. I danced almost as much. The wedding venue was beautiful - it was warm enough that the wedding and ****tails were outside with the mountains in the background.

We drove by Columbine High School on the way to the wedding which gave me chills. I didn't realize it was in this area.

DH was in bed by about 7:30 or so, and will probably sleep late. I went to the after-party at the hotel, so I am a tired puppy this morning. Luckily we don't have much on the agenda today. We will probably go to an open house at the bride and groom's in the late afternoon, but that's it for the most part.

We leave for home tomorrow to a busy week getting ready to leave for Florida a week from today. I'm looking forward to being back in familiar territory. I suspect a substantial weight gain from this trip, so I need to get back into gear.

Freddy the Frog lives ! Thanks for the reminder of why the name sounded so perfect, Peps ! I used some iridescent paint, which reflects a strange shine in places. He'll be proud to hang out in the garden with the sun, Buddha, a leaping frog, and some stars, come Spring.

I don't think of Reiki as a "super power" ...see it as conduit to universal power. Unlike Shel's patient, I take precautions preventing me from absorbing anything negative or unhealthy (like pain) as I help my clients to release it. I have helped clients release pain (physical and/or emotional) but NEVER take it on in order to do so. It is difficult for me to interact with anything living, and NOT share Reiki. Those of you who are open to it, and set the intention to welcome it and put it to good use have a constant stream coming your way.

Thanks for your comments on my patient. I wondered about the taking on the pain piece of it. Long ago, I had a patient *****tired from massage therapy because it was just to difficult to "take on others' pain." I didn't question it at the time (because honestly, people aren't paying me to talk about stuff like that) but it sounded like more than just the strain of working with people in pain.

Freddie is more than I imagined! What verve!

Supah Sunday to you all!

PSA: do not buy pumpkin spiced granola, even if it is bear approved.

My training plan calls for a 3 hour hike today and it looks like it will be in cold rain. This particular hike will have forest acting as a partial umbrella the entire way. It doesn't look like it is supposed to be super windy. If it is, I'll turn my azz around and get out of there cause I don't want to be impaled. Otherwise, I suppose it is a test of my rain gear and commitment.

I am grateful to be ABLE to do this.

I haven't seen DH's new boots, yet, but DD says that the bumps aren't too prominent. DD's last cross country race was yesterday. Tho she won't be going to state, I am immensely proud of her efforts. She has respiratory issues that could have sidelined her long ago, but rather than saying "I don't run" she kept with it and figured out how to do the best she can do and ended up on the varsity team. There is lots to be grateful for.

Ok, must tidy up before the sun rises.

Love you all, frogs too.

Shel

Good on your DD to push past health issues :) Well done

DH was wearing the boots when I got home today. I do like the color and said so. Unfortunately, I couldn't give them a ringing endorsement when he asked. (Why why why did he ask?) I said they wouldn't have been my choice but I'm not wearing them and I am happy that they make him happy.

Very diplomatic indeed Shel :)

Happiness is all that matters - learning that moreso as I get older :)

You might want to take back my diplomacy points. I left out that he asked if I wanted to touch one of the bumps (again, WHY ASK!) and I said, "no thanks, I have no desire to touch giant chicken skin or pimples."

Then, he lectured me on the marvels of Ostrich farming. This, from someone who once asked me "what part of the cow does leather come from?"

I went absolutely moot which is my code for "please stop talking"

Then, finally, the conversation turned. Whew.
