Freddy the Frog radiates with pizzazz and will pose for pictures after his second coat of Modge Podge. Five more sleeps before sunny California and my turn to radiate with pizzazz. My massage therapist works out of her own studio in Hammondsport as well as another in a nearby city. She has asked if I'd like to offer Reiki one or two days a week at the studio on the lake, as she feels our energy and outlook are similar. I'm giving it some serious thought.

Game 3 did not go well for the Red Sox. It was a good thing we went to bed after the ninth inning. I wonder how many of the Massachusetts wedding guests stayed up to watch all 18 innings?

I spent my night dealing with DH getting up and down for the bathroom and being confused. Maybe this traveling thing isn't a great idea after all? We will see how he does the next couple of nights. At this point it would almost be better if he just wet the diapers and stayed in bed. This getting up every hour is just too much. I was up fully again by 5 am mountain time (7 at home).

Yesterday we did an easy hike and had a picnic in Roxborough State Park where there were beautiful sandstone formations all over the place (picture below). DH took a nap in the afternoon but won't get one today so I wonder how he is going to do at the wedding.

The pre-wedding get together last night was difficult. It was at a brewery so there was nothing we could really drink. All choices were beer or carbonated drinks. The appetizers were all junky and not appealing. DH didn't understand where he was supposed to be or what to do as half the group was outside where it was freezing and the other half were inside the bar where it was noisy and chaotic. Some people did order a meal, but it was so loud and he was so confused that I wanted to get out of there. We ended up at a Rock Bottom restaurant because it was close to the hotel and we were able to sit at the bar right in front of the TV.

Today is the wedding, tomorrow we rest and Monday we go home. I feel ready right now...

So beautiful. So, yesterday was a bit difficult. I hope better for you both today. Weddings are a piece of new life -filled with hope, and at the same time a lovely reflection of relationships well spent. Enjoy.

DH made it to the 13th inning before he bailed. The game made for interesting sports news this morning- even I was a bit interested.

Celebrate- rest well- and then home sweet home!

I have moved the peanut butter jar and spoon to the side of the chair. New protein concoction- equal parts PB fit powder to regular PB- jacks the protein # to about 15 g/serving. Been told to graze.

Today is project day--I have a number of tasks pulled out (many of them fun) thinking that getting them out in the open would inspire me to address them. Yah, right---weeks later, I am still looking at unfinished busines****her, thither and yon.

Diane- your knitting time inspires me to get out the crochet hook and make some use of it. I know little, and execute that poorly, but, like embroidery, so enjoy the meditative opportunity that that hand movement provides. I'm going to set materials up by a special spot and ready to go when I am able.

Some desk work calling my attention--must do. Off to Luther- curtain at 3:00., and taking guests out to dinner after.

Enjoy your day - hope the weather is as lovely where you all are as it is here. The moon has been absolutely- wow-a night and early morning visual masterpiece!

Good morning!

Looking forward to seeing Freddie in his full glory. Liz, I'm thinking I need to go to Boulder -- lovely hikes! It seems that you just get a handle on how best to travel with DH and then the sands shift 48 hours later. I admire your resourcefulness. Cecily, way to turn it around! Maybe your spirit animal is now a python. Maybe not....personally, I have never been fond of snakes tho I know (I know!) that most are beneficial.

Yesterday, I made a comment to a patient about something "must be your superpower" and he told me he really does have a superpower. By accident, he discovered that he could take his wife's fibromyalgia pain from her for a couple of days. Let's say her neck is hurting, he can make a connection, transfer the pain to himself and her pain is immediately gone. His neck will hurt (I think to a lesser extent) for a couple of hours.

Tho he discovered this by accident, he cultivated the skill since his wife has fibromyalgia so pain always returns. He can now do it for other people, too. He said that typically the other person is pain free for 24-48 hours. He said he doesn't really believe in mysticism (his word) or anything like that....he thinks it is just energy transfer and he assumes others can do it too, but just don't realize. DianeO, is this reiki?

I told him he needs to do master classes and teach the masses. I'm sort of serious about that since a good part of my day is listening/observing people in pain.

Peps, hope all is well in the house. So proud of you for not turning to sugar in this time. (Talk about superpower...what IS IT that is making that possible????) Diamond, I haven't read all the posts so unsure if you are feeling better. Shirley, pat a cow for me if there is one handy, David, glad you continue to commit to following DW's (and doctor's) orders. DianeS, hug a Redwood. Squeeze it tight. Ann, drive safe. Thinking of you all, even if a name or two is escaping me. Oh Paula, miss you too but happy to see you happy. That is the most important thing.

Shel

132.4 I think. Cooking up some Fall delectable today (Chili and pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting).

DS#3's football team lost their 2nd playoff game last night, so football is done for this season.

DS#2 has a boyfriend now and he is gone more than he is home. He did start his Aesthetics program this week and I was the grateful recipient of a hand massage! He needed to practice...oh darn! : )

DS#1 is doing well with his new job. Still a pain the behind at home though.

Love to you all!

DianeS, Bethune Cookman????????

Looks like Nebraska will get the win....but, really? (Or am I so far out of the football world that I don't about Bethune Cookman's awesome football team?)

Freddie the Frog was sitting on a log. He wasn't thinking. He wasn't .... That is how one of our early reading DRA test booklets begins. The book is called Green Freddie. Our hero is told he is not beautiful because he is green by a few little forest creatures. It is not until Wise Old Owl points out that the trees are green and the grass is green, blah, blah, blah... that Little Freddie the Frog realizes that he is beautiful in his own way. Always the teacher, but I guess Diane S understands!

And, yes Reiki Master, I think you should give it a try. If I was able to feel your energy from close to 3000 miles away, I can only imagine how powerful an in person session could be.

Liz, I'm so sorry that yesterday night was a nightmare event for DH. I have to say I sympathize with him. I am usually at a loss at events like that unless I have a group to hang out to cling to for comfort and security. The loud bars with the background noise are horrendous for me. I have such trouble hearing in those situations. IF the lighting was dim, too, I can only imagine DH's anxiety level. I'm going to suggest that it was the event not travel. Perhaps you have to carefully choose the events and venues DH can manage successfully. What you described would have been stressful for me.

Glorious travels Ann! Glad you can hold the baby, David! Enjoy the show today, Bonnie. Hope Shirl and Diamond are feeling better. Paula, meeting the family???? Sounds like things with Kevin are going well and getting serious.

Shel, Ron has hives! Oh, dear! He did not start getting itchy until we added back his centrum, D3, Fish oil and Zyrtec back into the mix. Doc said to discontinue the supplements. He thought the Flomax might be the culprit (vs. the Lipitor), if the supplements are not the answer. (He's been taking the supplements for several years, so I think it's one of the new meds.) Might there be some effective alternative to the Flomax?

My weight is up about a half pound this morning. I am not surprised. I had a hell of a time with grazing yesterday, BUT IT WAS SUGAR FREE! LOL!!!!! I hit the almonds and then for dinner my BF and I went out for Mexican(I needed a little care giver break). Mexican is usually a safe choice for me. Not last night. I ate chips and amazingly at TWO tacos and a few bites of rice and beans. Not going to lie, I had a little bit of that burping food back up going on afterwards and having to spit. Not exactly foamies, but gross nonetheless! Had some sugar free jello later and then ate a piece of Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread with a little smear of PB and sugar free fruit spread around 11:30! I fell asleep in my chair after eating the toast. LOL! I woke up and went to bed around 1:00 and slept until about 7:00. Got up, let the hounds loose, crawled back to bed and slept for another hour and a half and then dozed and cuddled with Grandma Keira until about 9:00.

I have a training session scheduled for 11:00 today then at 1pm grooming two Airedales. At least the dogs belong to friends and we will get to catch up and chat while I toil away. Oh, I lost two more clients this week! YAY! They decided that they didn't want to drive 3 hours each way to get the dogs groomed anymore. I don't blame them! So happy for me...LOL!

Got get on my broomstick and take on the day!
