Another late check in! Weight is still 253, but was up .2 from yesterday. Nothing wrong with that considering I didn't #2 yesterday. The bathroom issue was rectified today. LOL! Calories are sitting just around 1000 after dinner, which gives me a little leeway for later - just in case it is needed.

Ron had a medical appointment to have his catheter adjusted. The urologist and nurse decided it should be removed and replaced with a much smaller one. The nurse commented that they must have been trying to bore a tunnel from the tip of his penis to his bladder. Apparently the catheter the ER urologist and ER team used was the largest used and only in extreme cases. He now has a "normal" sized catheter. Ewwwwww..... LOL! But he can now walk about without discomfort.

Tomorrow is his appointment with our PCP.

My old lady, Keira - grandma and great grandma to all the dogs in the house - seems to be having some neurological issues herself. Not sure what's going on there, but her annual is coming up in November.

Does grooming my own dog count as self care? I got it off my list of things to do, so I'm thinking it does. Had a very nice workout with my trainer today, too. Came home and made a nice dinner for us - salad with strawberries and grilled NY steak. Yum! Funny, I grilled two steaks, but we only ate one. I weighed out our portions and one steak more than covered both our portions with left overs, too boot!

Tomorrow is another day and a day closer to Ron being healed. It's also the last day I have to put drops in my eye for the nasty conjunctivitis. Yay! The second RX was so much more effective than the first. I noticed improvement after the very first dose.

Gotta say I'm kind of proud of myself for managing all this "stuff" without food.

Cheers, peeps!

I am so very proud of you too, Devon! You've had to deal with so much lately and have done so well with it all.

None of us is perfect, and we never will be. But you've really been amazing in managing everything that's been recently sent your way.

I'm also glad to hear that Ron got rid of the roto-rooter-from-hell. Shudder! He'll be much more comfortable, I know.

Is it an enlarged prostrate causing Ron's urological problems? My DH has been on the maximum dose of 2 drugs for BPE for many years, but still has issues. I wonder if he could be backed up and maybe we should see a urologist (he had only seen his PCP for it).

Yes, that is the guess. We don't know for 100% if that is the cause, but that is the assumption. He will have scans of his bladder and prostate next week. We'll know once those results come in. For now he's taking Flomax to help and they want the catheter in him until November 1 - a full two weeks. Blech....
